As someone who has done many long distance rides and completed 2 Hoka Heys, I have experienced that feeling you have felt. Its normal and part of the journey. It's what you do after to compensate or overcome that feeling. And I don't see anything wrong with changing it to "Wisconsin Kwik Trips". That alone would be something to celebrate! And besides, it leaves a challenge for the rest of us to try accomplish :) Get an Oiler for that chain or you really need to check it every night before going to sleep while the chain is still warm.
I live an hour north of Duluth and I sold a bike to a guy in Denver and rode it to him. Google maps routed me on a gravel road for part of it. You’ve come so far from your first SS1K, so proud of you. Don’t be so hard on yourself! You didn’t let anyone down! Best wishes- Tony
Recalibrating your parameters of success is one of the toughest things to do but one of the most important. Your achievement is still ten times beyond what would be impressive.
It was an admirable, ambitious plan. Koudo’s to you for trying. From the moment you hit the road it was clear there was no contingency time in your schedule for issues like bad weather, mechanical problems, getting lost, or needing a couple “extra” hours of rest. It’s been fun following along on your journey, and I’m sure you will find a way to hit the rest of those KT locations eventually.
I always add two hours on long trips due to stops. Not nearly as many as your doing though. 😂 Love your attitude of pushing through and working through things. You didn’t let anyone down.
Were you trying to establish a new IBA certified ride? It's certainly ambitious enough. And you're not disappointing, you're inspiring. Oh, more memories--I've been over the bridge on 18 quite a lot when traveling to and from college.
Just watched Day 5. No apologies. You are an Iron Woman ! In the previews to what is next looks like you nay gave fallen victim to the PA no start. I hope you have NOCO jump starter or equivalent with you. Thanks to Colin of Broncoride I never leave home without it. Waiting to see how things turned out.
If there was no possibility of failing there are no stakes and makes the adventure way less interesting so it's all good. Pick yourself up by the bootstraps and plan a new attack

It's okay, no let down here, family first and you will get much needed rest. Be safe
Appreciate it.

Totally entertaining, I am not let down! Not even one bit! Praying for you! Love it all! Woohoo!
Yay! Thank you!
I’m still so impressed with this. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the ups and downs. Entertaining and a good tutoring video for me/us.
Thanks so much!
@8:15 Whit and bike, liberally coated with bug guts and she is a happy camper. lol. Well done, Whit.
I really was. Haven’t even cleaned my helmet after the ride either for this reason.
Maybe stopping at one Kwik Trip location per city?
Nope. “Gotta catch ‘Em all” 😉
@@whitmeza I'm sure you will get it done, have fun

No no IBA cert for this. I couldn’t get the miles I needed within 24 hours to make that work. It was a lot of stops each day.
Hopefully it'll be more relaxing finishing up!

Is there way to track electronically thru gps instead of getting receipts?
Maybe but I want to go by the IBA standards which means a physical receipt.

Exactly what I did. And still have yet to accomplish :)
