This tutorial showed me exactly what I was needing to know. Clear and concise and I thank you.
you joking right? because the only thing in focus was his hand while the screen panned from left to right
I hate the Chromebook so much because of this. I bought it for my aunt who only uses for email and UA-cam. She does not want lock screen because she lives alone. The PIN feature ends up reverting back to password which is required to be too long. The fingerprint option does not recognize her finger. Brand new device Dec 2021. Please Google, make your devices easier to use for old people. No one needs max security features on a Chromebook. Video was great though thanks but I'm mostly venting about the device.
I think I can help you with this. First, click on your settings icon (looks like a wheel). On the settings page, click on "Lock screen and sign-in." Note: you'll have to enter your password here (same as Google account). Click on "Show lock screen when waking from sleep" to disable the lock screen from ever showing up again, as long as you don't shut the Chromebook down. You will have to enter your pin or password when you turn it on, no way around that. But as long as you just let your Chromebook sleep, you've now disabled the lock screen from popping up. Now that's pretty cool, but there's two more settings that you want to change. After you've disabled the lock screen, click on the Device setting on the left side of the display. On the right you'll see the setting, "When idle" Change both "while charging"and "while on battery" to something other than"sleep". Either of the other two choices will keep your Chromebook from going to sleep. With that done, you will never have to deal with the lock screen again as long as you leave your Chromebook on. once you turn it off, you will have to enter your pin or password. Tip: You can leave your Chromebook plugged in all of the time just like a laptop, and never have to enter your password again! I hope this helps your Aunt. If you have any friends with Chromebook, please share this info with them.
Of course, that's not what we are asking.
in case people watching this missed it, 1:30 he says he will show how to use gesture password, at 6:45 he discovers chrome doesnt have it yet and hence at 7:20 he says that the video is actually meant for future viewers (3 years) so people watching before september 2024, dont bother😄
you are a hero to me i know little about any of this and your instructions were clear and simple thank you so very much
I am using chrome os flex on a laptop, I followed your video but when I turn back on, it does not have the option to enter the pin, only password, is there a way to fix it?
It might be because of Chrome Flex, which may not have all features you would find on regular Chrome.
The PIN got me past lock screen, but then asks for password. This doesn’t work.
I have been having log into public WiFi problems on this HP Chrome...I doubt changing to PIN will cure that, but I will test it anyway...
hey .. i have followed all the steps but my chromebook still requires my gmail password ..it is not opening by pin which i select .. can you explain what is the solution of it ?

Hello I have a problem with Acer Chromebook I don't know how to remove password on it . Any one can help me
*The background of the device is beautiful, can you send me the download link for the image, thank you*
Thanks for the best video you made my chromebook work😅😅😅😅😅
For some reason It still tells me to put my password even when I put a pin on
I lost braincells trying to figure out what he did to open the chrome book if this is a “how to unlock without password” video
My chromebook didn't work with this option , I don't understand why not! The phone verification isn't always reliable because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't
I have a chrome book, toshiba but I forgot the pwd how do I bypass it or remove it totally
You can reset your password or factory reset Chromebook, but it will delete everything stored.
How do you use settings if you’re locked out?
Try Turning off the computer. Then
Press and hold Reset and then press Power while continuing to hold Reset. Once Chromebook turns on, release Refresh.
so helpful keep going😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
thank you so very much big problem solved.
How does someone get to settings please if they need a password to get to settings option.
you need to enter your google password to get to this setting. hope this helps.
@Douglas Fells thankyou for replying, I purchased my chrome book secondhand so unfortunately I don't have a google password for it. Can you help me please thankyou.
Why is he showing how to go to your settings, on your phone, using THE CHROMEBOOK?
Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you for this video. But even after doing this, I have to use my email and password everytime I sign out :(
If you are following the steps as mentioned, it should work. Mine works fine. Not sure why not working for you if you choose PIN option. Thanks.
@@ADawn If the chromebook sleeps, pin works but everytime I power off it does not.
It only works when you put your Chromebook to Sleep or Shut down and want to log in again without entering a password. But once you Sign Out, you will need to enter your password again.
I have an iPhone so do I need to use an android
iPhone not supported. I just checked Google Support to make sure. support.google.com/chromebook/answer/9617782?hl=en
I regret buying a chromebook. Always a chore to sign in. And now the bloody thing has rest itself even after I changed my Google password. It still wanted my old password. So it reset. I can't even use it now, it's disconnected from internet.
All other computers I've had, I've never had trouble.
Don't buy one.
I can't sign in and my keyboard doesn't work
Dell ChromeBook 3120 PIN login just doesnot work?
@@ADawn it seems like if I don't logout or shutdown, that it doesn't require the password. I close the lid and it goes to sleep. Then when I open the lid it wakes up without a need to login.
What is you cant get into passcode
It means you didn't set it up properly. If you are referring to losing your password, you have to reset your password via Google Account.
Thanks for the tutorial. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
I'm not asking about that
no help, keep phone out of it. your writing is too small and bad. talking too fast.
thx for sharing
Please do it like for achild
Super slow keep talking
I need you to go slower
Hhh
That's great, however to get at the settings, you must be logged in with your password first otherwise the settings gear button does not appear and you cannot do what is described.
Exactly
