She was the lucky charm that open the doors again for the Philippines to become a title contender in Miss Universe.
Venus is the best example of humility and modesty. She never grabs glory and openly declares and shares to whom, what and where praises are given to. Her legacy is simply divine.
It`s my first time to like Venus. She speaks with substance now! Unlike before, parang arteng arte sa pagsasalita. Now, she looks so real! Iba talaga ang nagagawa ng faith sa Lord. She looks genuinely beautiful inside out. Stay humble Venus! A true Queen.

Nabanggit ni Kara David na matagal daw hindi pumasok sa top 5 ang Pilipinas sa Miss Universe. She's actually referring to our one decade exclusion in the top 15 (not just top 5). Sa period na yan, magiging masaya na sana ang mga Pinoy kung pumasok ang Pinas kahit sa top 10 or top 15 man lang, pero lagi tayo ligwak noon specifically 2000-2009. Pagdating ni Venus, pumasok sya sa top 15 hanggang top 5. I love you Venus!

One of the best bodies that year with Jamaica much better than Mexico the winner, her performance was impecable only the q&a killed her felt so bad for her but overall I will always remember her was the beginning of a Filipino legacy making top 5, her evening gown was gorgeous, best catwalk she is gorgeous my best wishes.

Aun'z Gil. You are so ignorant. I saw that show and she was number 1 in overall scores when they show it on TV. She lost because she told the judges she could not think of any mistake she did. Everybody commits mistake. She looks like a hypocrite. She is so unprepared. In USA in Sunday paper the next day, they wrote she lost because of her answers. She could have been the 3rd Philippines who became Miss Universe not Pia. Pia could have been the fourth. Her mistake was all over the paper in America. I knew because I live in USA and I read it. THE PAPER SAID SHE COULD HAVE BEEN MISS UNIVERSE. Just shut up if you do not know nothing. She was the judges favorite. She was number 1 in everything until that question. Miss Mexico did not have a good answer but it was better than Miss Philippines. THEY ARE NOT LOOKING FOR HOTNESS BUT FOR COMPLETE PACKAGE.

Actually sya dapat ang makakauwi ng MU crown that time eh, medyo naunahan sya ng kaba sa question, at saka kahit naman sino eh mahihirapan na sagutin ang tanong na yun at limitado ang oras sa pagsagot. Venus was so elegant that night in the competition. For mw talaga, sya ang bet ko sa lahat ng lumaban sa MU. And now she is more confident na....malaki ang naitulong sa kanya ang pag-ho-host.

Dahil dito ay nagsimula ang winning streak ng Pinas sa MU at nagkaroon muli ng sigla sa Philippine pageantry. Venus started a "trend" that one can actually fight for and reach for their dreams the legal way, the legit way and without stepping on anyone's backs. Kaya hindi nanakapagtatakang nahirang siya bilang "curse breaker" and "drought breaker" ng Pinas sa MU at umangat ang sash factor ng Philippines. Dahil rin sa sinumulan niyang winning streak ay muling naging matunog at pinakaaabangan ang mga sumunod na Miss Philippines sa iba't-ibang mga beauty pageant.

That is understandable. English is included as subject since we start our pre-school until we finished our course in college. Our English teachers are always critical in our grammar and that makes sense.

If BPCI allowed Venus to have an interpreter, she could've done better.
Philippine women participating in Iternational Pageants MAY need an interpreter if she wants to, however, there are two disadvantages I can see on this. Firstly, the interpreter may not get the full message, for they may not remember all the words the contestestant has said which she really wants to convey because the interpreter may be as nervous (or even more nervous) than the candidate herself due tothe pressure building up from the event itself. Secondly, the interpreter may not convey or deliver the same message in English as it is their second or even third language and so it is very likely that they miss the essence of the candidate's answer in her native language.

Sa dami nga naman cguro ng pagkakamali nya bilang isang tao mahirap nga naman timbangin kung ano yong biggest mistake..
People can talk about Venus Raj's major-major flub in her Q and A in MU 2010, but finishing in the Top 5 out of 83 contestants is very impressive since the PH went the entire 2000s decade without anyone being placed.
Also, Raj's journey to make MU 2010 is remarkable when Binibining Pilipinas dethroned her due to alleged inconsistencies in her birth certificate and needed the Department of Foreign Affairs to step in and overrule BPCI due to the virtue of the jus sanguinis principle.
Had Venus not competed in MU 2010, the Philippines' would not have the tremendous amount of success they have in this decade in beauty pageants and a lot of girls would've turned their backs on BB Pilipinas and join other organizations like Miss Philippines Earth.
There were two moments in this decade that made the Philippines' a major power player in the beauty pageant scene.
1. Venus Raj saving the Philippines in Miss Universe by being placed as fourth runner-up first time a Philippine beauty queen was placed in Miss Universe since Miriam Quiambao's first runner-up finish in 1999. .
2. The pageant reshuffling in 2011: ABS-CBN took over BB Pilipinas to go along with their coverage with Miss Philippines Earth and Miss World chair Julia Morley ending her contract with Stella Araneta and gave the Miss World franchise to Cory Quirino who rebranded it as Miss World Philippines which was aired in GMA.
That first answer was really bad. Why would she consider her controversy as a means to get ahead of the competition. She should've stuck with her qualities. The controversy just made them doubt her winning.
