Dan had to have worked so hard on each part. How he got all the parts synced, I'll never know. His talent is overwhelming. I couldn't love his voice(s) more! Thanks for the reaction! 10 out of 10!

He has given us Avi Kaplan and Dimash all in one!
    What and astounding singer!
I am glad to be seeing great singers again.
We had a real lapse for awhile there.

I'm right there with you! I have sung this in SO many choirs over the years, and you are RIGHT ON, and so is Dan, obviously. 😀 He calls it something like his "journey into madness." I used to be one of those top-row "ladies," and that is NOT an easy part for top sopranos! For Dan, though...if not a piece of cake, at least he made it look and sound like it was!
Like you, I know all the parts. My range used to be slightly over five octaves. So when I was in community choirs, especially, I was called on to run parts with all of the "divisions," and help them learn all of those little nuances you spoke of so beautifully. The Chorus has always been my favorite choir song to sing (out of any of the three parts of the work). My mom was a classically trained violinist, and usually first-chair. When I was growing up, she and our school music teacher (who taught every class--from kindergarten through seniors) in our very small town of Old Valdez, Alaska) would always get together all of our musicians and singers in the whole town, in order to do "The Messiah" as many times as it was possible, over the years. Both Sue (Mrs. Miller) and Mom would create special arrangements for our much smaller groups than most symphonies and choirs have available. We were usually able to do at least MOST of the whole work, once a year. By the time I was a senior, I had sung all of the choir parts, AND had played my cornet in our small orchestra (which was never the same people, from year to year).
In later years, when I was living in Anchorage, I joined the quite large community choir there, and totally enjoyed being involved with THEIR seasonal offering, for four years, I think it was...that was all a long time ago, now, and I've lived in so many different places and been in so many differently sized and mixtures of people in so many different choirs, with a HUGE variety of conductors, in several different states.
Then I had a long round with rheumatoid arthritis that bent me forward and basically robbed me of my singing voice (except for my bass range) for nearly 15 years. In 2017, I had both hips replaced, and since then, I've been working hard, bit by bit, to regain at least SOME of my former range, AND to also play trumpet/cornet once again. I play other instruments as well, but don't have any of them. So I've focused on the things I can do, and re-learning old breathing techniques, etc. At age 73, I'm doing better than I have in LONG time--especially since watching Dan Vasc sing, and paying close attention. Watching and listening to him has given me back much of my soprano range, and helped me conquer the two main register changes that had me stymied for years. It's also just such FUN to watch and hear his music, which also helps me keep working.
LOVED YOUR REACTION. Thank you VERY much for doing this one. 😀

No cute singing for the Hallelujah Chorus! Indeed!
I must have sang this in choirs no leas than 25 times, both alto and tenor parts. You have to sing with confidence and exactness. I have never conducted it, so it was cool to see your reaction from that perspective. Youre the best, QoFy! 💙🎶👏

I saw that glance at his watch, too. Cracked me up...especially since I sang this as Soprano 1 in H.S. choir yrs ago. It wears you out, but it's such a phenomenal experience to sing it. I was amazed that Dan could pull this off at all much less to do it so unbelievably well.

There are 24 tracks, with 3 or 4 takes each and - obviously - all of this was not recorded in a single day.
When recording, Dan reserves the day before for warm-ups, adjustments and vocal exercises and the day after for vocal rest (where he even avoids speaking).
That said, one can imagine the time spent and the work involved in this recording.
And all the time and fuss of cutting and mixing...
Daniel calls this cover "My Insanity" and considers it his most ambitious project so far.
For us, we wish he would "go crazy" more often. 🤣
Excellent and didactic reaction, my dear!!
Thank you very much for it.
Hugs from Curitiba - Brazil 🇧🇷

This is the 2nd time I have seen you react to Dan Vasc. Also the first time I have seen a reactor turn into a conductor for Handel's Messiah. I hope you enjoyed your exercise! I also was amused that you said that rendition was "Coo". and wondered how Handel would have responded to that word being used in reference to his masterpiece?? My how we have altered our speech usage over the centuries. As for Dan, let's go with Total Dominance for this production. It will be on repeat for me especially during the Christmas Season. Well done.

Thank you for the wonderful analysis of this video. In the future when I listen to any choir performing this piece it will allow me to have greater understanding and appreciation of what goes into such a performance and how it is executed. Also, your words adds to the appreciation of how much work this video must have taken for one person to cover all the basis and points you had mentioned. I started viewing these reaction videos recently, to widen my musical understanding and this had been one of the best I had seen so far. Thank you again.

I’ve never seen a reactor appreciate this song as well as you just did. Loved how you nerded out over…well…everything. Only one thing I disagree with. You said a couple times that you can’t be pretty AND sing this song. Were you looking at the screen? There’s 24 Dans right there proving you wrong.😂 Great reaction. Enjoyed very much.😊
