Sandy, I'm a nurse and my husband thinks I'm crazy for believing in the full moon effect! All I know is that the psych ward and labor and delivery were always busiest during the full moon and heavy storms!

    • @missys
      @missys 4 роки тому +10

Agreed! I'm a medical assistant at family practice and I totally believe in the full moon effect! Also Friday the 13th. Feel like things "get weird" and people are crazier than normal! ♥️

There are too many people who work in hospitals or farmers or first responders who swear by full moons to not give some credence to it. And from what I understand it's not just "a feeling" because all these jobs require a good amount of paperwork and they can back it up sometimes with quantity of incidents and sometimes with the craziness of incidents and sometimes both.

Full moon and labor is a thing! An official thing. I remember being on medschool and having to take two night shifts in the maternity ward as part of my hands on curriculum for Ob/Gyn. I landed a full moon on the second one and good grief, it was a rush! At one point we had all 5 delivery rooms being used and a sixth woman giving birth in the ER... it was madness. It was all so happy but so busy. We were kind of high on happiness and sleep deprivation by the end of it. The funniest were definitely my two poor classmates, who were there on their first ever paediatrics rotation, having to do complete check ups on the newborns and do their Apgar and what not. I ended up driving them home in the morning and they were both asleep on their seats in under 5 minutes. You gotta love a full moon!

Put a towel or blanket under her flanks to pull her up. It will help tremendously to hold her back end. I'm a vet tech and that's what we have to do with dog's and downed calves etc
I hope this helps you out! It's important to save our backs 😘

Had same thing with ewe last year. Left the baby's with her so she wouldn't get stressed. Give her proplene glycol 20 ml orally with drencher twise a day. Suplememt lambs from another few good milkers and keep her stripped out until the milk clears up. Took 3 or 4 days and she was good to go. Good luck.

The fact that she was trying to get up is very reassuring for me. I have a severe chronic pain condition so I know that When your pain is unmanageable you don’t even try to move. Every other day for medication was concerning to me but it’s obviously working for the ewe or she wouldn’t be trying to move. Most farmers (& pet owners) care deeply for their animals & would never want them to be in pain but it’s easy to miss signs of pain. So I love seeing people who are taking care of the pain as well as the medical condition. My cat is on arthritis medication that has painkillers in it because even I didn’t realise she was acting aggressive due to pain but the vet figured it out. When in doubt, just see the vet because you’ll hate yourself if you know you could’ve helped sooner

This was wonderful to see today. Such a nice diversion for us from what else is going on 'out there'. Looking forward to all the upcoming lambing. Take good care.

Sandi: Thank you for your videos! They are a welcomed relief from all of the crap going on in this world right now! Best of luck with this lambing season, but please take a little time out when you can for yourself and your family. Hope the downed ewe makes a recovery.

I love how Goat always stations herself near the water to watch everything you do with the downed ewe. She could also be jealous that you are paying attention to that ewe and not her as anytime she is in the lambing group she comes looking for you each day.🐑🐏👍🏻🤗❤️ Either that or she is your unofficial supervisor you didn’t know you had. Because she really watches everything you do in the barn.

Happy Palm Sunday! I want you to know I have watched all your vids during my three weeks of self isolation, and have enjoyed them so much!
I can’t imagine how difficult it is to try to work and film. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you, your work ethic and the time you give us. God bless, East Tennessee fan.

That downed ewe i have hope for because she is really trying to get up and move. She is not giving up that is for sure which is a good sign. These triplets are so cute and they were quiet for sure. Mom seemed very calm with you helping her and she did not mind you being close to her babies. Great relationship between shepard and lamb. Can't wait to see the rest of lambing.

Lambs are sooo sweet. I had promised my granddaughter that I ask about taking her to see your lambs this time, but that is definitely out of the question at the moment. She loves watching the lambing videos. Fingers crossed that maybe next lambing she can see them. Stay home, stay safe, take care !

I seriously cannot stand the cuteness.
I am praying big Momma makes it through. The previous video I could see her babies moving around.

I'm the same way too. Ironically my dog was also that way about the groomers. He'd drag you inside to see them. Then when we went back he couldn't get out fast enough.
I think he liked it though since he felt better without so much hair.
