Stuffing is my favourite next to mashed potatoes. Love seeing how epcot is looking for the holidays and those baby ducks where so cute but clearly daredevils.
Epcot looked so pretty and I loved the baby ducks! We have too much food on Christmas day to pick a favourite. I love my left leftover pizza for breakfast, and then the turkey and all the trimmings and especially the After Eights in the evening! X
My favorite Christmas day food item is the three cheese grits casserole I make for breakfast. We freeze some of it so we can enjoy it for breakfast throughout the winter.
@DiscoLiz 3 Cheese Grits Casserole 1 cup Half & Half 3 cups of milk 1 cup of grits 1/2 stick of butter 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups monterey jack cheese 5 oz parmesean cheese 1 egg 1 tsp garlic powder salt and pepper to taste (start with half a tsp) Directions Note: Reserve a 1/2 cup each of the cheddar and monterey jack to be used later on top. Butter a 9x13 baking dish. In a large pot over medium heat, add the milk and half & half. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and add the butter, then grits. Wisk constantly for about a minute. Place lid on pot and let cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove lid, mix in a beaten egg and all three cheeses. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour into 9x13 baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Me and Mike are on the same page with the hazelnut tea hahah maybe I made mine too weak too lol Epcot is so beautiful!! Loved seeing all the merch and all the lights! Glad you had a great time with friends! My favourite food on Christmas Day is Christmas toast! I only eat it on Christmas and it’s incredible and screams Christmas morning to me!
Hahaha I thought the hazelnut tea was DELICIOUS. And so glad I got to have that night at Epcot with my friends. So festive! Oooh maybe this year is the year I finally try that dang Christmas toast recipe! There's so many recipes, so little time.
Out of all that merch, I love the gingerbread ears the most. So fun to see! As far as Christmas day food, it is usually leftovers from the Christmas Eve get together I have, which means last year it would have been three layer dip and cranberry pecan chicken salad. The Marks and Spencer I used to go to closed, so I wasn't able to pick up mince pies yet, but I will pick them up from somewhere else this weekend I am sure. Also, I think nachos aren't out of place at all, so I am probably having those this year on Christmas Day. It's a real wildcard when living abroad!
The gingerbread ears were adorable!! What's in your three layer dip?! I only went into one Marks and Spencers in London, but they had some goodies in there for sure!
@DiscoLiz My three layer dip was just salsa, cheese, and sour cream. So simple, but it helps to scratch the Mexican food itch. Thankfully a pretty good Mexican place opened earlier this year, and it is close to walk to. I live in area that is quite dense almost like The Villages, but no golf carts and is mostly families. Honestly, it wouldn't look out of place at all in Florida.
I'd love to go to Epcot at Christmas again one day. It's a lot different than when I went years ago. I really don't have a certain type of food for Christmas. I enjoy Christmas dinner. But I do like the German treats. Especially the Dominostein.
As a Latina 🇵🇷 , I look forward to having pernil (pork shoulder) and pasteles (I have NO idea how to say that in English lol). I didn’t answer the previous question about stockings, but I’ll do it here. We have a running joke about my mom and Christmas stockings because she always purchases items and never fit in the Christmas stocking and should really be a gift item, but she puts them to the side to make pretend they can fit in the stocking.😂😂
Favourite Christmas food? Has to be our UK Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, including sprouts, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puds 😋 (there's not much room for anything else after that!
When I was young my aunt made everyone cinnamon rolls for Xmas morning when she passed I started making them for my family, can’t start Xmas until we eat the cinnamon rolls lol
My Christmas favorite is Heavenly Hash. It has pretty much stayed even though the rest of the menu has changed the last few years. I've seen similar things called different things, but ours it cream cheese (the only way I eat cream cheese because I don't like the taste of cream cheese but mixed in you can't taste it), mandarin oranges, pineapple, maraschino cherries, marshmallows, and coconut. It's kinda dessert-y, but I usually eat it with my meal. My other favorite thing before she passed away was my Mamaw's chocolate pies. She would always alternate holidays with her coconut pies (which I didn't like) and her chocolate pies (which I loved). I've never had one as good as hers was.
Favorite Christmas Day meal? There is really not a tradition on that one. I like to try to cook, not a big meal, but something special. So this year I am cooking lamb chops. 😀👍🏻
Love the christmas cakes tahirt we don't get little debbie very much in canada anymore the odd time we spot them but not often but we have a Quebec brand vachon and the ah carmel from them is the best if you ever get up this way to try lol we do turkey and all the fixing on christmas day same as Thanksgiving lol so turkey and stuffing
Hey - catching up on the Vlogs but wanted to tell you I have a Jack Skellington Halloween/xmas themed countdown calendar for Halloween and then Xmas - so I have to keep up with the math: my trick is ask Siri “how many days until …” So easy now!
Stuffing is my favourite next to mashed potatoes. Love seeing how epcot is looking for the holidays and those baby ducks where so cute but clearly daredevils.
Mmmm I do love stuffing! Epcot was so beautiful that night! They were so brave jumping after their mom!
Those squish mellows are so funny! I knew they had stories but kind of forgot lol I love them!
The stories are cracking me up!! I love it!
I always make an Italian sausage! Been a family staple for generations. ❤
Epcot looked so pretty and I loved the baby ducks!

It was a gorgeous night at Epcot, and I'm glad I made the impromptu decision to go! Mmmm After Eights!

Oh man, all of those things sound amazing. peant blossom cookies are the best!
I make haystacks every year which is just melted butterscotch, peanuts and potato sticks. They are my favorite thing to eat on Christmas Day, so good!
Ooooh those sound AMAZING!
Glad you were able to get to Epcot. My favourite Christmas Day food is my Grandmother's stuffing (which I now make for us),
Loved having an impromptu night at Epcot! Mmmm stuffing!

My favourite Christmas day food is always the Christmas ham and mac and cheese, very basic! 😂
mmmm mac and cheese! Maybe I need to make some of that this year!

Epcot at Christmas is so beautiful! Busy, but beautiful! Yum for german treats!

I have never had either of those things, but they sound delicious! That's so funny about your mom!
@ you’re missing out! If you are ever in NYC I got you! Lol
Favourite Christmas food? Has to be our UK Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, including sprouts, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puds 😋 (there's not much room for anything else after that!
Oooh I am a convert after having my first Sunday Roast while over in the UK. Give me those Yorkshire puddings!
When I was young my aunt made everyone cinnamon rolls for Xmas morning when she passed I started making them for my family, can’t start Xmas until we eat the cinnamon rolls lol
I love that you're continuing the tradition! Very sweet. Mmmm cinnamon rolls sound like a perfect Christmas morning treat!

haha I love that shirt too! I'm sad you don't get the trees in Canada now though. Boooo!

Bhahaha you've got an excellent point there!
My favorite Christmas Day food are homemade pierogis. I don’t think we’re having them this year, though. 😢 They’re a lot of work!
Ooooh - homemade pierogis sound AMAZING! I'm jealous!
Stuffing/Dressing is my main course, everything else is arbitrary.
Right there with you. Give me ALL the stuffing.
