Brian, if you're going to be doing more RC cars, you should consider getting one of those adjustable ramps (or build one). With your soft grass it'd be easy to do jumps without much potential damage.
NICE! We want to get the speed up enough to use the end of the driveway to do FLIGHT TESTS ;) and fly up the ditches too! We have some plans to make a ramp to jump our "creek" drainage ditch - that's gonna be so fun!
Definitely a great beginner RC for the price, especially with the boost option etc!!!! I'm really thinking about getting the Vortex or the Granite, can't make up my mind 🤔lol
For sure! It's better than the "throw away" Chinese options where you're almost immediately broken, and can't get a replacement part to save your life. We're super impressed with the progression we're experiencing. AARMA makes a nice vehicle!

This consists of: Spektrum Firma 100A Smart ESC (SPMXSE1100). $99.99 Firma 3200Kv 4-Pole BL Motor (APMXSM2000) $104.99 DX3 Smart 3-Channel Transmitter with SR315 Receiver (SPM2340) $99.99 You only need the receiver is you already have a multi model Spektrum transmitter. And you may as well add the 4WD kit while you are at it: 4x4 Transmission Upgrade Set (ARA210003) $39.99 To upgrade the Boost Vorteks to a full on Vorteks will run you about $345. I would just add the 4x4 kit and stick to the battery/ESC setup you currently have. That will add a tremendous amount of performance to the Boost version then buy the 3x Vorteks ready to go for $369.99.This thing is a beast and almost indestructible.
I'm here checking out the Rc car world because I'm tired of all the drone and Rc aircraft regulation. It's not as fun as it use to be with all the rules local and Federal.
We'll be doing all the Boosts ;) And have the 4WD upgrades coming too. I want to add the brushless motor upgrades, but I don't think they're available just yet.
I have no idea why, but the ESC just chirped at us when we tried 3S!!?!?!! Wonder if I need to put the NIMH plug back on and run her at 3S, then just use a voltage alarm so I don't kill the smart pack???
Do NOT buy the 4x2 model, you will be sorely disappointed. Not only do you pay for the NiMH battery and charger it comes with, it is extremely under-powered and VERY difficult to maneuver on slippery surfaces like snow or sand due to it being rear heavy. Upgrading to the 4x4 3S brushless boost kit is complicated, takes time, is expensive, and does not include the wheelie bar. 4x2 NiMH Boost: -Non-adjustable steering components -Added cost of NiMH and charger which you will not use once upgraded to 4x4 3s boost kit -No wheelie bar when you decide to upgrade to 3S -Requires the 3S brushless kit if you plan on upgrading to 4x4 boost kit as the brushed motor is extremely underpowered -Max 20MPH -Cheap transmitter with delay -Weak and slow servo 4x4 3S Brushless -Adjustable front and rear driving links -Can power wheelie -Comes stock with Spektrum DX3 transmitter -Max 60MPH -Fast servo and responsive throttle Better to save up a bit to buy the more expensive Vorteks 3S 4x4.

The turns on the motor means basicly how fast the car is. Less turns is more power. A 12 turns brushless motor is faster than a 12t brushed motor

I reviewed all 3 of the boosts on my channel. They are pretty good. Slow but still fun!
Get the Arrma V3 Senton, 50+ mph and takes a beating. Or get the Kraton EXB if you want completely crazy and a laugh a second

I agree I just bought the vorteks 4x4 3s blx for my first hobby grade RC, it’s extremely impressive to say the least!
