Hi Dylan, Cool to see the Matador here, I’ve had one for 20 years! I’m having a problem with the speakers. The top left/right always work, the bottom woofers come on/off intermittently. When I turn the volume control in the back, sometimes I can get them to come back on again, lately not. Looking for suggestions on where to look to be sure there’s no loose connections or any suggestions. The problem started after a move 11 years ago. Appreciate all the help. 🙏
Dude, I liked the editing and pacing! It's cool to see this kind of video from you. I already throw your jams on while doing HW but this is the kind of thing I'd throw on while eating breakfast.
Hello! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it :D And that one is lonely inbetween, I don't think I've managed to cram it into a proper release yet. But it's over here on soundcloud soundcloud.com/quantumdylan/lonely-inbetween
Just FYI DO NOT use WD40 to lube anything on a juke box it will gum up quickly and collect dirt. Light oil only worked on these for years for a vending co .
Hello Dylan, I have the exact Jukebox. Whats happening with mine is if I make a selection the selector travels from the start location to the left end and back again twice without stopping to grab a record. If i raise the metal arm it will stop and select a record to play. I'm stumped. Help.
Hello! So sorry, completely fell behind on responding to comments. If you're still having the issue, what's most likely happening is that the connection between the selection circuitry and what's called the tormat is getting interrupted or distorted in some way. Mine had a similar issue but the inverse, it would stop and pick up each record as it went along one at a time. Replacing the cable that goes from the control panel up top to the selectomatic mechanism before ended up fixing the problem for me! It's just your typical run-of-the-mill RCA audio cable, like a composite video or for a hi-fi. Other than that, it could be that the contact block may have some sticky connections or oxidization. If those contacts on the main phonograph assembly get dirty, it's possible that the machine won't get kicked into play mode and out of travel like what's happening with your machine. Hope this helps a bit! Again, so sorry for the delay, yeesh end of the year got a little crazy heh
Thanks for this! Im restoring/troubleshooting one for my uncle and this helped a bunch!
