Yeah most players even some of the best mess it up when they try to play it while soloing or doing other fancy stuff, it's tough enough to keep it if you're just playing it and rather than playing it with your foot while doing it like he is here!

He's playing Clave de Rumba but with a foot pedal and on cha-cha bell. Usually when you hear it played on the bell it would be in the comparsa group in Cuba, or in some folkloric contexts, or traditionally it is played on the instrument called the clave.
