    Oh I like that way of doing tab to cover the raw edges and fiddling trying to fold over the edges and matched that up on both sides! Also stopping the top stitiching. Ive looked at so any ways to do this to get non pokey corners and here you are reviewing it all again! Thanks so much!

    Question: Why do you leave an opening in portion of lining? Couldn't you just leave the zipper 1/2 way open and turn right sides out ..that way? Maybe I'm missing something. I love how you are using these swatches... your zipper tabs make bags so easy! thank you

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs
      @ChristinesHomeAffairs  11 місяців тому

      My first thoughts? "RUN"!! I rarely use them Sue. For my own work, I'd be too concerned that I'd sew over the teeth. You know, my memory being what it is, I'd forget they were there.
      The only time I actually use them is when changing zips for customers in their jeans. I usually sew a little further from the teeth than I usually do, and I always use the double sided tape to hold it in place😁

  • @barbhaakonson7587

    I liked the idea of the 3 different types of bags, however it became confusing. I understand that you were trying to do continuous types of sewing. You are a professional, I am not. I would have preferred completion of one bag at a time. Because this is a how-to video, it would make more sense. Love the idea of using tape instead of clips or pins. What size double-sided tape did you use? I also liked how you did the zipper end tabs using Scotch tape. Thank you!

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs
      @ChristinesHomeAffairs  9 місяців тому

      Thanks Barb. The ds tape I used was 8mm. I did a couple of variations in this video because it was so much like many I've done before. It also helps to explain that there are many options you can use with the same piece of fabric.😁

    Hi Christine, can you install one of the ordinary zip sliders on each end of continuous zipper tape (both pointing to the middle) to get a double zip that opens from the centre like for luggage - or would that be special sliders? I’d like to make a backpack 🎒 or cooler bag. Good vid. Cheers

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs
      @ChristinesHomeAffairs  11 місяців тому +3

      Yes, you definitely can. Bring the first slider all the way through, then on again and leave in the middle. Then go to other end and place second slider on to meet the other. The curved edges will meet. My giant utility dopp style bag shows you this technique. I can do a separate video if you like🙂

    Will the double side tape not make a glue residue on the machine needle?

      Ronel, there are many tapes that leave residue on your needles, but the one I use is specific for sewing. It doesn't gum them up at all and is water soluble😊

    What happens to the tape after you finish the page???

      The tape stays on Patty. It's water soluble too, so will disolve😀

    What are the tabs on the sides for???

      Pam, some people like the tabs so the can attach a wristlet strap or even a shoulder strap. Others like to hold the tabs as they open them😁

      I have a few industrial machines Debbi. Mostly Jack brand and ProSew. I have reviews in the playlist for them😁

    Why did the number five zip with tabs sew up so much smaller?

      The fabric dimensions were different. She said it was leftover fabric.

      Correct. It was made with scrap fabric😁
