THE RECORD IS HAPPENING!!
You should have like 12x the subscribers you do now, dude. This is one of your best tunes yet.
Also I totally get what you're saying about the uniqueness of this pre. It tonality sounds a lot more like the era of pop from like mid-70s to early-90s. Soft, mid and high focused, easy to work with across multiple sources. Seems like a great 4 or 8 of in a rack!
Thanks so much Nkozi! That’s incredibly kind. Thanks for the support! :)
Glad to finally hear you're doing the record we all want to hear. I wish you all the success you so richly deserve.
Thanks so much Stephen! :)
Awesome content again, clicked to hear the song rather than the gear this time :)
Thank you so much! :) the support is really appreciated. 🚀
Hey Alec. Fellow record maker here from NYC. You’re the only music UA-camr who I truly love watching. No fluff and straight to the point with incredible music to boot. Still saving up to grab a Neve 88lb based on your Neve shootout vid. Keep it up!
Thanks so much for those very kind words! :) let me know when you get that 88lb.
Alec, this is a happening preamp. Was not expecting this type of sound and I am pleasantly surprised. Sounds modern and warm at the same time. Top end is really nice and everything sounds great stacked... Great job brother...!
Thanks so much Jim! :) yeah, really loved the tone of the unit big time.
Thanks
Thank you so much!! 🧡
Aleco, your songs are awesome ❤🎉
Thank you so much Sandra! ❤️
Another fantastic review. The Best!
Thank you so much Jeremy! The support is really appreciated. 🚀
Dude…Your songs are fantastic as usual. ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥great work.
Thank you so much! :D
That's one dark sounding pre - which I love!
Yeah it’s a friendly bear of a thing.
I came to watch what song you are going to play first and then the product. Great review by the way, even better is your music 😊
That’s incredibly kind. :) thank you Jasper!
Merci!
Thank you so much Daniel, super appreciated. :)
Nicely done. Great demo. Cheers from Canada
Thanks so much Anthony! :)
I rewatch your videos often for the songs. I really like your music.
Thanks so much Drew! :) working on a way to get the songs recorded and released.
Great stuff as usual Mr Britts
Thank you so much Jim! :)
Great video 👍good content and awesome song. Well done😎
Thanks so much Dad. 🚀
.... another nice sounding song ------ I would sure like for you to put out some of your songs on the digital music sservices or on separate YT videos. The dynamics and balances of this song are excellent - and the song itself is wonderful. So well done in every way.
Thanks so much again Thomas! It’s really appreciated.
A good video that is well produced as usual, with a nice style.
Thanks so much Thomas! :)
Also to add to this. Great song. Would love to hear it on Spotify and also another video with the individual tracks before the mix..
Yes! :) that is part of the plan, I’m working towards a way for people to get access to the stems in the future, as well as release the songs on Spotify.
Excellent work as usual!
Thank you so much! :)
Great as always 🤘
Thanks so much! 🚀
A record?!? Yayyyyy! 🔥🔥🔥
That’s the goal! :D
@@alecbrits Hearing the level of your productions during gear tests, I have total confidence in your ability to nail it!
I think you and I have similar tastes and think alike. The preamp is a little different from the pack like you said which is something I've been keeping an ear out for as well. And it sounds, kind of like warm tape. Not so bright and a little mid recessed. Fantastic. I think I might jump on this one. Thanks for pointing it out. I too have been perving the Studer consoles but we have a console so it would be a little redundant. Nice track as always. Cheers.
They are solid pre’s for sure. :) I’m looking forward to purchasing a few in the future.
@@alecbrits Did you end up buying one, or a few, of these by the way?
@@Screaming-Trees not yet sadly. I’m not able to afford any new gear currently. :)
@@alecbrits Bugger! Sorry to hear that mate.
OMGX i always wanted a 169 desk haha this is amazing
They are so solid!! :D can’t wait to have a pair in my rack in the future.
A very "Lucas - Suzanne Vega" feel during the intro ! Voice sounds greats.
Thanks so much! :)
Great song, great demo. I only wished you gave us some solo tracks to listen to or the drum stem for just a few seconds at least. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Spirou! :) I’m working on something that will allow people to have access to the stems and behind the scenes videos etc.
Cowbell! Another killer video 🤘
More cowbell!! :D thanks Daniel!
Would love to see you do something like the API 3122v and how it would sound on your more "sumptuous" songs. Equipment like this seems to fall in line with your sound. But I'm sure you would still make the API sound amazing but would be interesting to hear you through a more "upfront" sounding pre.
I adore the API Stuff. I’ve actually reviewed the 512. :) if I could have a console full of them I would. I think mic choice affects the tone far more than mic pre does personally.
@@alecbrits Hi Alec, I just found your 512c review and that sounds great. I have a lot of Neve gear but I was about to buy some API and your review helped a lot. Keep up the great reviews and wonderful songs. Great channel :-)
@@garywilliams122 thanks so much Gary!
@@garywilliams122 thanks so much Guy!
Awesome music as always! How do you like this preamp against de WAMPX? I’m thinking about switching to the 500 series and this seems like a very characterful pre. Thanks!!
Hard to compare as one is solid state, and the other is valve. :) I would say this pre has a very specific tone, both when driven and not. The WAMPX feels like it has a massive headroom that I really enjoy. The WAMPX is a little more bright and forward sounding. This pre is a little less forward but also a little more signature. :)
@@alecbrits interesting! Somehow I thought that valves were less versatile. Maybe is because they are more standardized (?). I don’t know. I need to try the Hlabs anyway 😎 Thanks for your insight
Alec please! I live in the US and demoing this unit would be such a hassle. I need to know, from your personal experience which do you prefer on vocals? This one or a 73?
Very much depends on the vocalist! :)
Great review and amazing song! Do you do song production or collaboration?
Mostly song production for clients. :)
Thanks so much! :)
yo is this song coming out?
It will be in the future. :)
Do you do anything with these songs besides using them to showcase gear?
Ah, you answered that at the end. 😂
Yeah! Working on it Helman. :) trying to get the balance between writing/recording for myself as well as paying the bills by producing for others.
Sounds like they were inspired by Rupert's designs.
Perhaps! :) either way, it sounds ace.
What Takamine is that?
It’s a high strung EAN10C. :) I talk about it in my “How to record acoustic guitar” video.
I'd like to hear your songs with some strong female voices added.
That’s the plan! :)
