A glamorous day in the life of an English manor house, hail stones, barbed wire, string, mud, water, and apple cake. What more could you ask for? A pair of wellies and a waterproof jacket, I think...😊
I think I would talk about interesting sites and places around Mapperton too, so people would come to the region. Include interviews with local entrepreneurs, useful curators, arts and crafts people, bakeries, hotels and restaurants. I wouldn't come out just for Mapperton alone but if you could entice me for a week, I'd come up there and enjoy the whole region.
Virtual tours sounds great. It's too bad Mapperton is far from London, a bus shuttle from London with a full day in Mapperton including lunch might be a nice idea. Enjoyed seeing behind the scenes and meeting everyone.
Bus shuttle, that idea came to me,be good idea. Maybe a pick in Beaminster or Bridport etc at 11am and return about 4 for us daytrippers. As a non car owner or driver actually getting to M is a bit of an adventure
That would be great. Bus and train connections are not very well. In addition we were scared to rent a car or honestly drive by ourselves on the "wrong side" 😅. A shuttle service -maybe an old English Bedford bus coach would be so cute 😍
The forest is amazing. Could you have a forest guided walk. I did one last year with a friend of mine who was the guide. He gave us information about each species of trees, their history , how they came to be in the area and some for their healing properties. It was fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable. We saw squirrels, and the bird life was gorgeous. ❤
Thats what i saw. The forest is magical. They can also do a cottage core type of content. Especially when they are Nobles. Its perfect for them. They'd be pulling the younger generation.
Yes virtual visitor!!! I’m in Australia but studied medieval and Tudor history, and then curating. Now I love walled garden history. I’d love to see the artworks and gardens in detail virtually.
I love the idea of the virtual ticket. I’m from the states so it would be hard for me to be able to visit. Any information on the history of the particular rooms, architecture etc. I would really enjoy.
I think virtual tours are a good idea, but you could think of creating virtual tours in a way that will get people coming back, sharing their experience on social media and wanting to visit in person. Even incorporate AI into the virtual experience. For example, change up the theme of the tours to go with the seasons; show what Mapperton and the land would have looked like for example 100 years ago, etc.; and let people click on and download recipes. Gamify the online experience for example having them build a fence before the horses escape or have people find hidden gems as they do the virtual tour. I'm sure you'd find people willing to be paid and volunteer to help you set your virtual experiences up.
This is a great idea! Although I avoid anything that gamifies my experience because I hate games, especially video games😂 I just love learning and information!
Hi Julie and Luke, I think a virtual tour is a fantastic idea. For everyone who cannot make the actual trip, but still be able to see Mapperton, "Brilliant" as you say. Spring in the States has been a complete disaster for the most part as well. Hopefully, summer will make up for the loss. Thanks for letting us tag along Luke. Love from N.Y.
I think the virtual features would be great. There are those of us that just can’t see a trip to England within our means and this would give us enjoyment of your estate.
If I lived there and didn’t want to make the drive, I’d be open to getting on a Mapperton Home Tour bus that would drive me there and back 😊 just a thought 😁
Luke, what a beautiful idea for the Mapperton 360 ! My first visit has to be the gardens and flowers! Amazing idea! Mapperton is now so modern and online! I would love to visit the historical paintings with concert music playing too!
A virtual visit is phenomenal.....The Organgery, House, Guardians, how about a subscription to LiveCam in the wilding areas....! Great idea....Even updated areas could be updated for "special exhibitions" as they do in museums....
Two virtual tickets please! My nana loves this type of content and being able to see everything including the gardens will improve her health tremendously❤
Do NOT under estimate the value of an in person tour of Mapperton!! There are sounds, there are smells and there are so many welcoming people to connect with there. It is WELL worth the effort and we travelled from Nova Scotia Canada to get there. A virtual tour would also be great and I would not hesitate to participate in that as well! Plan a trip to Mapperton after your virtual tour!!
Luke & Julie luv idea of virtual tour. Previously on other vids you two have mentioned locations i.e. Mat was sailing his boat there & you spoke of how this location played into history of those of us across the pond & down under its a port. We forgot where everything started also spoke of it when the family left Henchingbrook (sp) & went to Mapperton. We are connected in differnt ways.
The work you are doing is paying off - the property looks just lovely, the aerial shots look great! Sorry about the rain, the cakes look yummy! So happy also to see the drain clearing.
Fabulous idea re the virtual ticket for virtual tour! I would definitely visit remotely! A whole holiday in UK would be expensive for us (we rely on one week of reliable sun per year abroad). Love your content. Loce to both. G Ire
The Day in the life at Mapperton just fabulous Luke with that pole gadget was watching very closely with the hammer skills😀😍The ponies so quiet majestic animals I also got inspired to check my drains we’ve had a fair share of floods here🥰The virtual tour of Mapperton now that will be a fabulous event such a joy watching this video the cafe and all those goodies would be a delish sit down with one of the infamous teas Thankyou my Sunday morning is inspired💖💖😍😍👌👌🌟🌟
I found your channel by chance and have fallen in love with your life. Your ‘daily’ looks overwhelming, but absolutely fascinating and rewarding. I’m also so touched by the obvious love you have for each other and everyone and everything in your world, and the way you get along with so much humor and patience. Thank you for sharing such an uplifting channel with us.
Have you ever thought of having people pay you, to come and work on the estate? Like a volunteer kind of thing? I would love to spend a few days checking on animals, cleaning gardens, helping in the restaurant kitchen, mending fences, unblocking drains, skimming ponds! Anything that helps to keep the estate going. I do realize there would have to insurance coverage, etc. but people could sign a waiver.
There is a better way to secure your gate - attach a loop of chain to the post and drop it over the gatepost. Lasts for years - mine is on year 10 and going strong. Totally cow proof. The epitome of understatement - no day at Mapperton would be complete without dealing with water somehow... Hope the weather gets better!
I’d Love the opportunity of being able to do a virtual tour of any sort, being so far away.. but would still aim to get there to tour in person one day. I think it would make you want to see it in person even more! It’s such a beautiful estate and historical place. .. looking forward to the beef sandwich one day too! What an enjoyable vlog!
I love all your business ventures ideas. Do you post a social calendar of events so where one could choose online?? Plus, I’m invested on the English fairytale cottage, what’s the latest progress on that?
Love the idea of a virtual tour. Age 76, live in the USA, will never get to England, but love all things British. A virtual tour would be wonderful. The only drawback would not being able to taste the apple cake or scones! Recipe included with the ticket perhaps?
Love the idea of a virtual tour. I tried signing up but something went wrong and it didn’t go through. I did sign up for the monthly newsletter. Love the ideas previously mentioned about a bus tour as well as other areas in the region to make a full week of things to do. I hope someday to visit in person 😍😘
Hey Julie loved the video, I would love to see more like this, videos on different aspects of the estate, different departments, different staff, shoots, catering, maintenance even admin, the reality behind the glamour
Virtual tours would be great! I’ve never been to the UK and it would allow people, such as myself, to explore the grounds, learn more and just be generally fascinated with the architecture and the decor. I would totally buy a ticket!
Virtual tickets to Mapperton would be amazing because I doubt I'll be visiting anytime soon but doing it virtually will mean I can still get a taste of the majesty and beauty of Mapperton.
Beautiful bluebell woods. Love the virtual tour idea. I'd love to visit Mapperton one day and geographically speaking I don't live that far away but I don't drive. If or when I do I want to tour the gardens and maybe do a walk in your countryside where there is no cows. I'm with Julie there. So the virtual in the house bit would suit me. It must be even better for people who live on another continent.
@@ilenet9911 Oh gosh, I am hoping for a speedy healing for you!!! I will check out chateau diaries, thank you! I will share that I also love watching Isabel Paige, and HannahleeDuggan

It's great to see you guys doing so well. I've been watching the channel from it's starting days and have seen you come this far and have felt being a part of the journey everytime. Such a pleasure to watch the two of you on screen ❤
Mapperton is so close to the beach. Take advantage of advertising around the local beaches. You may get some day trippers visiting going to/from the beach. Or if weather is rainy at the beaches, visitors drive up to Mapperton for a half day.
There are so many exciting ways to tour Mapperton, the manor house. the grounds. out buildings support structures historical buildings like servants quarters or virtual history of how it was built over the years thankfully you have a lot of good people making it all possible
Oh yes! A virtual ticket would be most excellent! I’m in North Carolina USA so love virtual ticket or annual season virtual ticket that covers all Mapperton events. Sign me up I’m ready to purchase one now!
It's sooooooo beautiful. I wish I was 30 years younger once again and could afford to visit. Alas, older age and living on a fixed retirement income doesn't allow such to happen. But I can enjoy watching your progress online. Such wonderful historical places and homes must be preserved for the future - should we have one as a planet (due to climate change). Keep up the good work.
On a visit to the UK in 2018, I visited quite a number of historic homes. They were all fabulous and all different. One of the things I enjoyed was having lunch or morning/afternoon tea, if it was available, at the historic house. I'm adding Mapperton to my list of places to visit when I am next in that region of England.
I keep wanting for “the big reveal” of the muniment room and Julie told us on her live show Thursday to be sure to tune in today on Mapperton Live for that reveal. If I’ve missed it somehow it’s not for lack of trying. Disappointed today, although I’ve seen most of it. Y’all just made such a big deal out of it and then never really showed it off! What’s up?
Not being able to visit in person, I would definitely purchase a virtual ticket! Brilliant idea! I enjoy seeing what goes on behind the scenes even "the boring tasks" as Luke said. I really hope you will make this a regular feature. Would love to have some Apple Cake. It looks delicious!

I would absolutely love to work in a home like yours, sadly my age and health are against me. I used to work in a similar home in Derbyshire called Park Hall hotel at Spinkhill. Its all changed now as someone turned it into a 7 bedroom house, I wish I could afford it, it also has a 2 bedroom cottage in the grounds. I loved working there. xx
I like the virtual tour idea. I'd love close-ups of the paintings as well.
A glamorous day in the life of an English manor house, hail stones, barbed wire, string, mud, water, and apple cake. What more could you ask for? A pair of wellies and a waterproof jacket, I think...😊

Cooking classes/weekend with River Cottage chefs/bakers-could be online too. River Cottage does online
Since my wife and myself live in Ladysmith BC, Canada we cannot just pop over. Your Virtual video of your estate would be wonderful.
Yes to virtual tours. Many possibilities for what to tour. I love the idea of also in the garden, as well as the main residence.
