The G in the last site is for “group” hence the two picnic tables. BTW would love a meetup. Maybe set up a few meetups for coffee and you can vet the normal folks.
Hi Cliff Simply Superb. I'm saying it Again. Reminds me of my Steep Mountain or Cycling Times The Best Freedom I Ever had in Ireland. Brian 🇨🇮. Thanks Up n Up⬆️🚵⛰️
That site #1 used to be at the bottom of the hill, across from that info kiosk you passed, before they cut that area off. Those sites also used to be free to use til about a year or two ago. A few years ago, when I went by #3, there was a group there that had a job johnny set up on site. #5 is a group camping site hence it's designation PCG1. FYI: There are no toilet facilities or water at these sites. However, 2 used to have a spring near it.
Campsite scouting is one of my favorite things to do. Usually utilizing iOverlander, Google Maps satellite view and Google Earth since driving to them isn't an option until I'm ready to go camping. There are several trails in the Ouachita Mountains and Ozarks I want to hike when weather permits so finding campsites kinda sorta near the trailheads has been a quest of late. So yeah, more of this would be great, along with your other content. Loved sites 3 and 4 that you toured for us. Kinda hard to pick a favorite between them. FYI You can use a Mr. Buddy propane heater, or two, in a tent. We did at Palo Duro Canyon this past March with lows in the upper 20s. Probably would have kept us warmer had there not been super high winds. Still made it easier to crawl out of the sleeping bag come morning.
#4 is by far my favorite, short walk to see the sunrise/sunset, surrounded by trees.......only one drawback that I can see is that its close to the road. Other than that I'd have to choose site #4. Love the multiple choice videos Cliff! ❤
Definitely to keep out vehicles. No need to needlessly rut up the ground. Cliff , thank you for taking me on many an adventure. I’ve watched you channel for a while now. Subbed a while back. I’m in northeast Ohio, but pretty much grew up in potter county near Galeton. It was really nice to see you stop by the lumber museum and denton hill state park. I learned to ski there. Lots of great times. Wayne in Ohio.
Don’t like poles but do understand the usage of them. I like site no 4 best followed closely by No. 3.. seeing sunrise and sunset would be lovely. Thank you for the share. Please take care
Completely agree with the poles!! I understand the concept, but definitely an eye sore and takes away from the “natural feel”. We did our truck camping video on site 2, and Christmas camping video on site 4. Site #4 by far my favorite!!! But staying at site #2, you barely get any traffic going by.
I think all those camping spots would be perfect in the summertime because there's nothing more fun than being away from civilization and being in the woods camping is always a great time but anyway keep up the amazing videos on UA-cam
This is a great review and the format and pace of the video is appreciated! I follow along on your trips to get good camping ideas in PA (where I also live). Again, thanks for the detailed review. Look forward to further reviews like this (?)
❤🎉#4for the win! ❤i like the remoteness and sunrises and sunsets are always the best! We get both sunrises and sunsets at our home on the hill!!!❤our house faces west ❤
What you need for camping in the State Forest is a small chainsaw. You can cut up dead wood for the fire without buying bundles like a city tourist. Obviously, no cutting down live trees. We camped in the Loyalsock State Forest for years. Some of the best times of my life were camping there with a group of friends. Try camping there, you'll love it.
I would go with 2 or 4. The road to site 2 was the original access to the old fire tower, which is no longer there, before the new road was put in. When I was a young pup growing up in Hamburg in the 60's we used to go up to the fire tower frequently. When the ranger was there he would leave us come in to the tower and chat a while. I remember he said he would walk up the road to the tower instead of driving. Thats a nice commute. Back in those days we could camp right at the tower. Not as many rules and regulations as today.
Hello cliff if I was going camping there I choose four my husband and I haven't camped like that in years what no bathrooms or showers take care love from upstate New York❤😊
I agree with you on #4 - great site! I like that it's shaded but you can still see across the valley nearby if not from the site. I'd camp there if it was closer to home but I'm in MI. I also like this type of video and have done the same thing before.
I deal with people all day in my work. So for me camping is an escape. I prefer a more secluded campsite where you have to walk-in for car camping. Not being able to see cars or other campers would be ideal. For me backpacking and backcountry camping is my favorite type. But, that is not always possible. Out of these sites it would be 4 then 5. I prefer camping in cooler weather. One of my fondest memories was earning my Wilderness Survival merit badge during a December campout. In cub scouts and boy scouts we had a weekend camping trip every month of the year.
I always wanted to camp at the camp sites along the port Clinton fire tower Lane I like the one that's off the lane a little bit I just never figured out how to reserve them
I actually camped at site #4 about 5 years ago, ill share my experience. We really enjoyed the site up until the early evening, then things became weird. Vehicles started flying by every few minutes heading up to the fire tower. I am not sure what was going on but they would stay for a short time and then race back out. This went on for hours and then about midnight a car stopped right at the campsite and sat there for a few mins then raced off. I'm guessing it was kids partying at the fire tower, but it just didn't feel right or safe. We also noticed the same couple cars came and went for hours, and you know its not a short drive up the gravel road from 61. Sometimes they would hit the brakes and creep by the campsite, but after the one stopped and idled there for a few minutes at midnight we didn't feel safe so we got out of there leaving all our stuff and went home. The next day we drove back and packed up our tent and things and left. This was on a Friday or Saturday night in the summer. I know things change so who knows if this stuff is still going on. I hope you have a better experience if you stay there.
Tony, Random Adventures 2.0 has a hot tent set up. You could contact him for advice or help with any questions you might have. Those camp sites are nice and quite a ways from each other. I like number 4.
My choice would be # 4 especially with a full moon. I cant say that I like looking over an area that they clear cut. I know they say it makes for a healthier forest but sure would be nice if theu left a few trees and I’m sure a few critters would be happy
The stripes on the poles mean atv or snowmobiles are not goint to crash into. Tent ot hit the poles and die like they did with all black poles on the Silver Comet trail. Poles protect renters. Stripes protect the vehicles from hitting and being thrown and dying.
Site 4 was my favorite. I could put my trailer where your car was. I love the views of sun rise and set. I bet that site books fast. We used to go often in the winter to parks where the campground was closed, but the road open to check out the sites. Thats the best way if you can. After we broke up,there hasn't been any more trips. I miss those trips.😢 Also,I heard there's been Bigfoot activity in that area. Be viligent, but keep recording if you have a sightings. Lol. Loved this one, even tho it was bitter sweet. ❤❤❤❤❤
I’d have to go with number 4, as far as a meet up, I would definitely do it at a public park where everyone just leaves when it’s over, definitely not at a campground where you’ll be overnight
I think 4 is the best. Only one ugly pole. But in summer they may be somewhat camouflaged by the under growth also the “ carnage” of the logging will also be covered by the undergrowth
Happy New Year, Happy Camping and Greetings from Florida. My favorite site is #5, I like how open and big it is and my second choice is #4, you can't beat that view! My husband he likes #4 the best!
Hi Cliff, I was just watching your video. It’s awesome. I love it I like site three but as you were pulling up the site four I seen something really strange across the road little creepy go back and see if you notice it. That’s as you pull up at four in the main road.
My favorite was #4. Not a fan of walkins. Also, I like to check for cell service in case of any emergencies. These videos are very helpful. I'm always looking for new areas to explore. Thanks Cliff.
I wish you could actually pull your vehicle into the campsites. I plan on sleeping in my Subaru. All were pretty nice, but 4 would be the best for my needs. Btw campsites in State campgrounds in SC are $30.00 -$65.00 a night, but some have electricity and water.
I like site 2. The video make it look like it was above the road. the others seemed to be down hill from the road. The poles don't seem too intrusive. I'm sure they're there to keep vehicles out.
I would pick four or five. I liked the view and space of four and I liked the openness of five- made it feel larger. I would love it if you came up northeast where I'm from to check out some of the places around the poconos, if any.
WOAA ! you indeed ceased the annoying "music" in the background when your driving !!?? YOU'RE AWWESOME ! you're the FIRST person that ever actually listened to my request when I asked for complete silence in the background in their videos !!
That stove is for hot tent camping. Not sure if it's abandoned or why. FYI.....use the stove to keep warm and cook during active hours. Sleeping hours, you let it go out(safety). Stay warm while inactive with good equipment. Research boondocking.
My favorite was #4. I liked that view. Perfect for sunrise/sunset photography. Question: Is the grade of the main road going in too difficult for a mini van? Thanks for taking us along!
You can easily get up there with a minivan with no snow. The first hill is somewhat washboarded when you come off route 61 but no clearance problems. I've had my little Hyundai Elantra up there many times in the summer. All that said, I was up there Jan 6 in the snow with my Jeep and there was a VW Jetta coming down with no problem. Just take your time and you'll be OK. BTW I have T-Mobile and I have some service up there.. not everywhere but it's not totally dead either.
❤i still have a book christmas gift 🎁 to send you!🎉 sorry i am not usually so far behind. I have been sick for 4 weeks with that nasty covid virus.😊😮❤ i will get it to you though!!!
Cliff, happy new year ! Here in Pacific Northwest , it's currently 20 this afternoon ! How cold is it in Pennsylvania ? Another beautiful day in Pennsylvania !
For no.2 I do not like the fact of the trail and also the poles also looks unnatural....I like no.1 cause it seems safer if u by yourself...looked very cozy plus loved the crunching leaves!!!! But 4 was ok also....kinda of a little more creepier...but pretty....JMO!!!! No. 1 looked like a faster way out if needed to leave for reasons or other!!!!
4 sure #4. Hammock hang right along the edge. Watch the sunrise and set from your hammock.
I'm ready! 🌄👍🙂🙏🐻🥾🌲🌻
The G in the last site is for “group” hence the two picnic tables.
BTW would love a meetup. Maybe set up a few meetups for coffee and you can vet the normal folks.
I think id enjoy site 4. Im usually a early riser and to see the sun come up with a cup of coffee sounds so relaxing and beautiful.
This was on my birthday. I was warm on a caribbean cruise. 1 is nice if you don't wanna go in far. 5 for winter. 4 was my favorite.
Hi Cliff Simply Superb. I'm saying it Again. Reminds me of my Steep Mountain or Cycling Times The Best Freedom I Ever had in Ireland. Brian 🇨🇮. Thanks Up n Up⬆️🚵⛰️
Love that you are checking out camp sites, especially the sites for tent camping!
You're right! Those ugly polls really take away from the "in the woods experience!!" I enjoyed your video... as usual!
That site #1 used to be at the bottom of the hill, across from that info kiosk you passed, before they cut that area off.

I like 3 and 4. Thank you for the tour. And it's a good thing you have a jeep.
#4 would be my pick to . go all 4 seasons plus less noise from hwy. the view is breath taking. especially at night I bet with full bright moon.
Definitely 4!
#4 is by far my favorite, short walk to see the sunrise/sunset, surrounded by trees.......only one drawback that I can see is that its close to the road. Other than that I'd have to choose site #4. Love the multiple choice videos Cliff! ❤
❤i love these tours of the campgrounds. Please keep doing them. Wish i was camping there right now!!!❤❤❤❤

I’m from Pottsville and never been to Weiser I may try to camp up there on of these days. Thanks for the video
#4. Dark night the stars and view! BTW the tennis ball is still there. Did this place for the New Year.
Completely agree with the poles!! I understand the concept, but definitely an eye sore and takes away from the “natural feel”. We did our truck camping video on site 2, and Christmas camping video on site 4. Site #4 by far my favorite!!! But staying at site #2, you barely get any traffic going by.

The ugly poles give it that Dollar Store feel. As a matter of fact number 5 looks like The Dollar Store will be building there this spring.😮
4. Lots of tree options for hammocks. 5 looks like it would turn into a swimming pool if it rains, sitting in a bowl.
If I was a camper.I would camp at anyone of these sights.
#4 looked the best. Stay well and be safe.

Sproul, Tiadaghton and Tioga State Forests all have really great motorized camping sites.

You can reserve them online.
I like #4 site best followed by #3. Nice tour of site area !
Great to see you back in the woods!!! Cheers Cliff

You can report that to the DCNR rangers. They are law enforcement. They have workers on all shifts. That is also why I carry when I camp too.
I would say the polls are there to protect the people that are camping , I think it’s a great for Safety
Out of all the sites, I would camp at site number 4
#4 was the best.
This poles are nice for setting up a perimeter alarm.
Thank for the tour. I go camping few times a year not yet been to state forest yet. I live about 1 hr from there
#4 is the way to go. Enjoy.
Those poles kill it for me. Just like the Berks Nature pole and signs (“This is Not a Trail” sign) spread across Neversink Preserve. Kills the vibe.
Tony, Random Adventures 2.0 has a hot tent set up. You could contact him for advice or help with any questions you might have. Those camp sites are nice and quite a ways from each other. I like number 4.

Happy New Year, Happy Camping and Greetings from Florida. My favorite site is #5, I like how open and big it is and my second choice is #4, you can't beat that view! My husband he likes #4 the best!
myself it would be a toss-up between sites 3 and 4 that's a really beautiful area.
Site 5 looked like a group site. Maybe that's what the "g" stood for on the sign?
But Coming Down Was Superb especially d Bicycle 🚲🚴
I live close by and camped at 4 it's nice. Also check out wiser state forest Greenland Trac. It's up at the end of gold mine rd tower city area
1 and 3 are to close to the road
4 offered great views
5 was to open
2 felt nestled in the woods... my fav
Hi Cliff, I was just watching your video. It’s awesome. I love it I like site three but as you were pulling up the site four I seen something really strange across the road little creepy go back and see if you notice it. That’s as you pull up at four in the main road.
Why don’t you try some winter camping? That could introduce a whole new type of equipment and make for some really interesting experiences!
My favorite was #4. Not a fan of walkins. Also, I like to check for cell service in case of any emergencies. These videos are very helpful. I'm always looking for new areas to explore. Thanks Cliff.
As walk-ins go, they aren't really more than 100 feet or so.
I wish you could actually pull your vehicle into the campsites. I plan on sleeping in my Subaru. All were pretty nice, but 4 would be the best for my needs. Btw campsites in State campgrounds in SC are $30.00 -$65.00 a night, but some have electricity and water.

I believe PCG 1 could be a group Camping Site. Ex. Scouts etc.
Exactly what it is.
I don't like the poles but if they weren't there you would like even less what some irresponsible people would leave behind.
G1 is the Gate Number
Last site group 1? five is still ahead??
Poles are kinda ugly....but sadly necessary.. #4 is my favorite as well
I can’t find directions for the port Clinton tract sites, do you have a road name?
Cliff, happy new year !

Site #2s fire ring needs help. That warped rack is unacceptable for those who use for cooking
Why are there telephone poles and wires up there? Are there houses up there?
They go to the firetower..

do you know if hunting is permited
Don't like the poles at all, takes away from the Abeance ❤
