Looking like a good harvest at least for the barley. Can't wait to see how your oats turn out. Be sure to have the camera with you when you are doing the oats. And give us a report. Thanks.
My findings of BTO yields around here: Take what they say for yield and take off 25% and then their actual yield is pretty close to the new number. My oats went 110 and I’m very happy with that. Other than a heavy rain event in June, we’ve had next to no decent rains. Barley was 85 and wheat 60. Only canola and flax left. Taking a quick break working on canola now.
Good evening Tyson . Lots of guys started canola harvest the past few days here. A lot of the cereals are getting done besides the later planted stuff. I’ve got some later planted barley left that will probably go later this week.
The tr99 looks impressive olf was talking about going to look at one of them as second conbine i can see why, she looks very clean and nice conbine can,t beat newhollands
Looks like harvest is going well for you. Those combines with pick-up heads are a novelty to me, because we don't have them in our part of the country. It sure seems dry when you are.
It has been dry the past 2 years... this year more moisture from the begining of spring....but thats the reason I bought straight headers this fall... there was no need to swath.... the crops dried out on their own!!
I have never seen any deere conventional chop straw worth anything. They need an aftermarket chopper with an upgraded drive for it. The drive for a Jd chopper isn’t adequate for a chopper that will actually be effective
Well the on going Geoengineering Weather Modification is effecting you as well! If you learn about it you can add your voice to getting it stopped! Droughts and Floods all buy the same process, while those who bet futures on it clean up!
Wait, no more TR-96s? You now only have two -99s and the JD 9600? Have you sold the -96s or are they parked permanently, kinda like a prairie version of a coral reef for field mice? 😂
TY. Nice looking crop. Is it malting barley? OK which color of machine gives cleaner sample, easier to work on and most reliable? By the way did I hear Shawn say something? 😂 Thanks, Boe
Tyson r u interested in a. JD 9860 combine? My brother in Whitecourt has one for sale. It had $40,000 work done to it getting it Green Lighted. I’ve run it for him and it combines great. It comes with a pickup and straw chopper. You can see more details on Kijjiji under Chad Merrifield.
Great looking crop, Tyson! Hope the yield is great for you folks! Where has Ms. Monique gone to btw? Does she only report on winter operations when it is really cold?? Just kidding, I'm sure she is busy!!! Have a great day!! 😀
Your crops are late, did u plant late or ?? we finished 2500 ac 2 row barley at the south farm August 19, tested 11.8 and 63% protein, home farm 3000 ac 6 row barley finished August 25th tested 12.9 and 49% protein, now we are looking for round wheat straw bales, but the big farmers around here just want to chop their straw into dust. Dam those new combines destroy the straw into nothing but dust. checked out what was left after taking 45ft pieces less then 2 inches, that really does not help the soil out at all.
We actually were late seeding... started after the may long weekend... usually are done by then... but the late july... and August heat with no rain matured the crops faster then I have ever seen. Yes... with the price of fertlizer now and also for moisture retension.... everyone wants to put the straw back in.
Farmer of the north right Shawn

Oats here south of westlock 150 bushels per acre new variety candem
I heard of that one...I need to find a better milling oats I'm still growing derby
Why not bale the straw ?
With the price of fertilizer and how the straw keeps moisture in the ground ...it needs it
That dang Shaun, he's a talker.
haha
How soon does the barley go to market?
December..January
👍
I see Shawn is jabbering away as always lol
Lol yea
What was the test weight? Of the oats.
I didn't combine any oats yet..that was Barley
I have but I'm in Western Australia

Tyson I found a 930r in mb
To far

Haha yea those mice sure love those Ole 96 cabs for some reason
Do you have enough storage if you get that much of the oats
Yes...barely
How far north are you? Straight pipe did his barley a few weeks ago iirc.
Im on the 58th parralell... 60th is the Northwest territories...If I were in Sask... I would be about 5 hours north of straight pipe
Should the 99's header wheels be running on the ground?
Yea ... thats what they are for.. so the pickup doenst hit the ground
@@Northern_Farmer aren't really hitting it in the video
@@Farmall450 that means you have a good crop...don't need to put it down all the way
Keep in kickin tail boys
right on nitro nick😎
Haha yup
Did you get of your tr 96s or they back up?
One back up
TY.
Nice looking crop. Is it malting barley? OK which color of machine gives cleaner sample, easier to work on and most reliable?

Thanks, Boe
The TR will give a cleaner sample without cracking the grain and throwing it out the back
Are you from Saskatchewan
Northern Alberta

Is it a sts?
You have 2 99s or a 99 and a 96?
2 99s and a 96
Which combine does the best job?,here in the midwest it seems the JD is the leader
Best job threshing is the Twin rotor combines...best straw from the jd
Great looking crop, Tyson! Hope the yield is great for you folks! Where has Ms. Monique gone to btw? Does she only report on winter operations when it is really cold?? Just kidding, I'm sure she is busy!!! Have a great day!! 😀
Haha yea she's around just hasn't been around when I'm filming
With the price of fuel, every time you don’t have to make a pass in a field, you’re saving quite a bit of money.
This true...but usually you have to buy desiccant and either hire a high sprayer...plus fuel...
@@Northern_Farmer I was referring to your comment about being able to use a platform head instead of having to swath it and then pick it up this year.
@@ajskab99 that's what I ment...this year I can do it without spraying the crop...it dried without it.
Shaun can speak then 🤔😉🤣👍👌
Oh yea
Every where you go always some high yield liars

how much are you losing out the back with that old new holland
The new holland is newer than the deere lol...and way less then the deere
If you're up for a drive Hammerstrap @ Waskatenau has 3 JD930 on his lot
I have saw them...not in the best shape
👍
