      @@BrendanHasty thanks for replying to my comment, much appreciate it. If possible I would like to request you to make a video on a day routine of a structural engineer in Australia and second topic will be what approach should a student take to to fetch a job.
      Thank you so much.

      Great video. It'll be interesting if you could do a video how construction practices and regulations differ from state to state in Australia.

    • @BrendanHasty
      @BrendanHasty 4 роки тому

      That would be a good idea different practices across Australia, and comparisons to international codes.

    So I have a question... regarding the lateral loads, how important is the notional load, it is kind of a mysterious term to me which I find new and I'm curious to understand it?

    • @BrendanHasty
      @BrendanHasty 2 роки тому +1

      Hi April, thanks for the support. My new videos are much better quality. Notional loads are minimal load for robustness and typically more critical for conbections. Basically, the minimum design lateral loads to account for defects, construction errors or loss of support.

    how often structural engineer visit to the construction site? Do they find time to be with their family or do they have to work in different places for most of the year like civil engineers?

    very informative video
    I am an international student at Swinburne university doing a bachelor of engineering in civil
    do international students get jobs here?
    and I am a bit allergic to dust so wanna confirm is it office work or site work
    could you please tell the ratio of time spent on site and indoor, like is it half the time on site and rest indoor
    thanks

      Hi Nobu, if you have good marks, also if you haven't watched all my video your communications are the most important written spoken and drawings. There should be a issue getting a job. At the moment engineers are finding it hard to get there first job but the job market is starting to pick up.

    I am wondering why this video is described in Chinese? Note: I am Chinese working in Australia as a structural engineer and licensed builder.

    • @BrendanHasty
      @BrendanHasty 3 роки тому +3

      Hi Xero, the description as well as the subtiles have been translated to Chinese. A few of my videos have been translated, but most have not been translated.
      If people find it it be useful I may end up translating all my videos, tho this is time consuming. They have also been uploaded to billi billi.
