not sure about the list, i havent looked at it yet, but he should really be able to deviate into something other than ballista, any deck needs alternate wincons. maybe it was dualcaster here and he was missing the twinflame? EDIT; just checked the list, he could have grabbed duskwatch recruiter via rocco with inf green but the list indeed doesnt have another creature payout for inf mana aside from ballista, can win with infinite big finale but even after filtering all creatures out via duskwatch he'd have to manually draw it. no food chain somehow
@@trveheimer6360 Looks like he could have used Rocco to get Duskwatch Recruiter, Get all the creatures from his deck, and set up his library and he has this green creature Briarbridge Tracker/Emiel or Temur for that ETB make a clue, could play destiny spinner into that and draw your whole deck and Chord/Eldrich for Grand Abolisher for a safe Ewit/Finale Loop or some Kogla/Temur Sabertooth loops, I think he had outs with infinite Green mana for sure.
@@accoyed true, i didnt realize why he played tracker or duskwatch (building a version of the deck myself) but that translates from creatuers into draw. anyways the deck should 100% run a kiki-jiki line imo. even tho it makes the deck a bit samey to blood pod in consequence. ballista is a nice alternative line, so is bolt / eternal wittness / sabretooth or emiel.
Feel like the Rocco player may have misplayed a little bit. For sure will get better with more practice, but using veil as a card draw isn't really a good play and could have won if he just let the pact resolve since no one else had an answer for creature counterspells. Could just cast rocco, getting E witness and then recasted walking ballista for the win.
Could have fetched for eternal witness to get waking ballista back as well or abolisher/esper sentinel. Should probably throw ranger captain in that deck too.
A question for the Lazav player. Why not run Pili-pala and Palladium Myr with Necrotic Ooze? You can use that and Mesmeric Orb to instantly mill your entire library, while gaining infinite mana. It also has the additional benefit of only being able to be interacted with at 2 points. The cast of the MO, and the activation of Lazav into Ooze. Everything else is mana abilities. I'm sure there's a legitimate reason that I just don't see lol but I've closed out games on turn 3-4 with it.
Rocco needs a rift sweeper and pull from eternity the deck isn't running an ad naus or life centric theme and they help avoid getting hard locked out of a win con that or maybe like comet storm or fireball as a flex spot to work as both alt win cons and removal as needed
Hmm.. what was Zack’s strategy when he chose not to play his Mystic Remora on turn 1 with his Fellwar Stone and chose to cast it on Turn 2 instead? He could’ve drawn 2 cards.. right?
I was under pressure from kraum all game, never had a good time to cast vial without fear of either losing the game to a combo or to beats. casting curio on thrasios was a desperation play I would not ever recommend doing. some things you just can't control smh
Having built and played Rocco since it’s release, the way it was played in this video was painful to watch. Not really sure what’s going on with this list either as it’s kinda all over the place. Please go take a look on Moxfield at Wondabread’s Rocco, Druid of Devastation list as it looks pretty streamlined.
Yea Rocco's become one of my favorite decks to play with and this list feels pretty bad honestly. Personally I've settled for a Food Chain + Birthing Pod approach but obviously there's a ton of ways you can build Rocco because of how versatile its ability is, but it feels like Jordan's list heard that and got overwhelmed lol
@@ESP4thaWin thank you. I assumed he had white mana available to cast Rocco but looking at the deck list he didn't have anything worth tutoring by the looks of it. =/
Great video as always guys! One thing i'm wondering about and this may be because i don't understand Storm properly, but why was the Flusterstorm so big that countered the Entomb? I always took Storm count for the "player" turn, not the whole turn, if you know what i mean.
I recently built Lazav and avoided all of the cEDH staples because I didn't want it to feel like every other blue/black deck. Basically no Thoracle combo and slower/less counter magic. The deck is still so freakin good consistently threatening game by turn 3-5. I'm glad to see other people starting to pick up Lazav, but also stop copying me. First Harald Elves and now this.
Well in order to "keep" casting Rocco he'd also need infinite red and white mana which he didn't have. But looking at his list for this game, he also doesn't really have any major wincons besides Ballista. Overall still a pretty underwhelming performance and mediocre list.
Nice to see Lazav getting some love, but I prefer a more proactive approach. Keep the Thoracle and control shells, but instead of the NOoze lines you can just kill people by making Lazav into a Phyrexian Dreadnought with infect, or a Wall of Blood with lifelink.
He literally played so many things that led to thoracle. I think people need to stop being so hard on it from a viewers perspective, you want to watch “the best cards in the format” but don’t want people to use the most compact combo in the game? I mean I get it, but it’s literally the best way to win in the format. That’s why it’s used so much.
I know he's banned. I'd love to see everyone play their favorite version of golos. If they can dig those up. I'm building him as a "fun" commander. And yes, I do know he's banned. So this would be SUPER casual. Thank you if you guys do it. If you guys have some fun brews. I'd love to see them to get the gears turning. Thank you!

I feel like, "He moves to Kraumbat," is an underrated line
I was just about to comment on that
Thank you for pointing this out! I hope more people catch it
It got a giggle out of me for sure.
Steve Brule moment
Came here to say this. So good
In this episode, we answer the question "how many times can you blow up a notion thief in a Lasav deck before its really gone?".
Lazav: *becomes copy of Notion Thief*
Greg: “How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?!”
God damn Greg did not want me to have a notion thief.
The notion in the ocean is no notion thieves are allowed.
You know Greg. He prefers drawing cards to winning.

Heartbroken for Rocco, it looks like a really cool deck
Been playing Rocco since release, it is great!
He might’ve had it if he didn’t waste his Veil of Summer!
@@davidlyda3238 it was a weird call ngl
Why did he tutor for vizier for sorcery speed? Before either of his opponents mystic remoras had a chance to go away
This rocco list is not it at all, some very questionable plays as well. The commander is super sweeeeet though.
Hehehe Kraum-bat, gave me a chuckle
This might be the best game of CEDH I’ve ever seen. How does Jordan not have anything to do with Rocco and infinite mana?

I have sometimes the same problem with chatterfang. If you dont have any draw you just locked the board with infinite mana.

I was thinking that too. I went back to figure out why he didn't recast Rocco to tutor for something but I just didn't understand why.
My same thought. Also, does he not have an alternate win con to ballista to dump mana on?
Could have fetched for eternal witness to get waking ballista back as well or abolisher/esper sentinel. Should probably throw ranger captain in that deck too.

"He moves to kraumbat" killed me lmfao

Sheeeeeeh Jordan, my dude, you almost had it so many times, great games y'all
Super glad Ryan is narrating again. Keeps the interest and focus there for the viewer.
What a game to watch! Exciting all the way through. Loved every second.
Greg thoroughly showed the table he was the master of his deck.
Anyone else catch Ryan around 4 mins say go to kraumbat…. Fricken love it lol
I'm Italian, and our "Rocco" never loses.
Man, what a fun game to watch! Looked like you where also having the best time
Did you say "he moves to kraumbat?!" Damn that got me
Love seeing that Lazav love!
An awesome game of CEDH Magic!
It's Rocco's modern life, and we're all just living in it.

Jordan my dude. You need to get more Wincons in your deck :(
Was Zack's Sol Ring altered to look like Sauron's eye? If so, that's really cool.
Either that or the symbol of Phyrexia

My favourite commander, Trymna :P
Never thought I'd see today's mvp card be mvp.
Amazing vid
What's Trymna?
"Trim ya life total to draw cards."
I’m kinda surprised about these plays:
- cyclonic rift after he combos instead of prior
- curiosity not on vial smasher?
I was under pressure from kraum all game, never had a good time to cast vial without fear of either losing the game to a combo or to beats. casting curio on thrasios was a desperation play I would not ever recommend doing. some things you just can't control smh
is there a specific reason as to running flame sweep for thrasios/vial deck instead of pyroclasm?
Instant Speed maybe?
oh I didn't see that yeah makes sense
Instant speed, and if you look at Greg’s list, he’s running the absolute minimum creatures with two or less toughness
Miscast Counters Fierce is such a satisfying statement to hear.
Untap, Upkeep, Draw, Go to Kraum-bat...

He had no white mana to cast him after using the trap
Unfortunately I think the list just isn’t great and he had no clue how to play it.
