You see, when someone as great as ko would notice immediately when he playing shane in a long race, that shane is real monster. Its not only about how many major tournaments you won. Its more about how crazy dedication you put into your practice's hours. No body train as harder as Shane !
Wow!! Van Boening s break is like poetry in motion!!It looks like a soft break the but results are similar to that of a power break: the ball spread is impressive!
Ko thinks SVB break cue has a magic. It is too easy for Shane to make 3~5 balls in the break shot. Winner break format does not work for those TOP players!! WHAT AN AMAZING BREAK technique !!
when Shanes break is on,,he cannot be touched!! Many of players have complained about it before. They think he is cheating but yet they cant make a ball on their attempt on same table and time. I can understand why they get upset though. But he is not cheating.
If skewing the template slightly to the right is not cheating, then I agree, but if the rules state the template needs to be straight, then I believe he is getting away with a lot in this match.
I mean yes he's a dominant breaker and I'm a fan. But if you watch Dr Dave's breakdown of the match that was the biggest one in question of svb vs jason shaw. He does point out the spacing between a ball and consistently dropping the same ball. I don't think players should rack their own racks to prevent any of tampering they should have a referee in all tournaments.
Well Shane just showed that pool is special game with special skills. You can't do that playing snooker even if you are Ronnie O'Sullivan. Shane's game might be replicated only by pool player, but never from any snooker one.
lol - it is literally on the first page of google - and specifically for pool: It comes from when two armies are in battle, the army that reaches the high ground (ie 'the hill') is likely about to win the battle. (see also 'The Grand Old Duke Of York' nursery rhyme)
He changed his shaft which has a different tip i know he use the taom stock tip that comes on the breaches and he also use a samsara break tip...and it seems that he went back to the 11.8 playing shaft. He keeps switching diameter of tips and still plays great
I'm curious if it's the rack... he should have let Shane rack and just before Shane breaks, stop him, inspect the rack (to see if he's leaving any gaps or not racking perfectly straight)... then take his break stick and break them to see the results. Not saying he's doing anything wrong, just crazy how consistently he's making 3 to 6 balls. Makes me wonder what he's doing so much differently than everyone else.
Shane's a monster again!! Please for the love of God take the profit from this broadcast to take a public speaking class to stop smacking in everyone's ears!! Great knowledge of the game game!!!!
I've played Earl,Buddy, some of the best of 70,s and 80,s and u put enough pressure on anybody they miss my road partner in the day put a 14 pack on Keith McCready considered the best money plyer in the country at the time he couldn't make a ball we busted him 11k this was early 80,s
It looks like shanes template is skewed slightly to the right on every one of his breaks. Anyone else notice this? Combined with his cue ball angle from the kitchen, this seems to help the 1 track to the upper corner more consistently as well as the 2nd row balls to the sides. Also the bottom left ball tracks 4 rails around to the bottom left corner. You can notice him tracking the 1 with his eyes mostly on his breaks. If there is nothing in the rules about doing that, then hats off to shane for breaking smarter than his opponents. You can compare Ko's template in his practice break with shanes cue after the match ended. His template looks staight compared to shanes templates in the match. With a straight template the 2nd row balls tend to come up high on the sides just barely.
No it's an illusion. The template probably moved by the balls. I screenshotted when the balls were on the template and both Ko's and Shane's look exactly the same.
Ko had 3 breaks total, if you count the practice break after the game. Not a lot to go off of there... Also, you can't compare Ko's template break to all of Shane's in-game breaks.
This was only a training/practice friendly match before the start of the Predator 9 Ball Bucharest Open, so there was no need for a referee. Plus, there were other top players on the side watching, they could help if needed.
yea with rack your own, if ya know the table well, there are certain tricks and gaps to put on the template to get the wing ball to go in but w the format that they are playing, no issues w that

world champion shouldn't be missing the 1 ball in 2nd rack. shane is world champ now but won't stay that way for long. other world legends could have pot that 1 ball with eyes closed😜seriously pro players these days miss so much past legends could beat them in their sleep🤪

It's so funny at the end when Ko Pin Yi breaks dry with Shane's cue. I guess it's not the cue but how you use it.
Tell that to my wife…😒
Ko is such a good hearted guy I think he was just messing with him
I love it, no egos, no hard feelings in Billiards regardless of the discipline, win some lose some
Thank you for the video. Fun to watch these two players in a more relaxed environment. Both are fantastic to see play.

Shane Van Boening is such a humble pool player🙌😍

where did the term "on the hill" originate? I've heard this question asked, researched it, asked around...still, nobody I can find seems to know!

It's so true, playing with a template, SVB is unbeatable.
That was an amazing 3 ball match! 😂
this table is the gold standard.
Pin Yi to Shane: "Double or nothing?"
SVB = Beast!
If Shane is breaking, it's really only 5 ball.

Shane’s breaks so good

Shane is one of the greatest to ever play the game!🇺🇸
48:54 whew again
Shane is the best rotation pool player on the planet and has been for a very long time now!
what difference would it make if he's using a template or a hard rack?
Most likely, the racked balls would not be as tight as with the template and the break would not be as consistent with every other rack..
Template breaks without any space, balls spread very well. With rack, there is always gaps no matter how hard squeeze.
看到國旗好感動
Ahhhhmazin

Just yesterday, I saw a video of Kazakis beating Shane nine to NOTHING! At this level, when one of these guys is "on", it's lights out.
someone forgot to tell Shane that he was playing TEN ball. He seems to only be paying 6 ball most racks..
SVB 🔝👊

If someone breaks and runs everytime, it doesn't make any difference who they are playing. They just sit and watch.
