With my 46 years of rock, I dare say that after the greats in the 60's and 70's, Guns n' Roses was the first and last Super Rock Band that appeared.
This was their best song with Civil War right behind.

Slash is def top 3 in the 80s and 90s....Lots of speed players came up, but he was more melodic and emotional in his playing.

@@AMusicianandaJerk well seems like someone cannot concentrate for long i guess this is due to media consumption which works a certain way and has its effect. Classic radio length is 3.5 minutes cause science says the brain cannot focus much longer. Seems for some average ppl this might be right. I always loved the longer rock songs

New music has one beat, endless repeating hooks and lackluster lyrics.
Thats why the younger gen gets bored after 3 min of a song.
Back in the day (i'm old😁) the 60's, 70's and 80's music was very interesting.
Many different genres and absolute masters at their craft.
obscure lyrics would let the listener interpret them the way they want.
A perfect example is The Eagles Hotel California.
The band would never say what the song is about.(great marketing trick)
It means something different to every listener.
The music had soul.
Now it is made by computer , autotune and song by song to sell as many as they can in ITunes.
Sorry to ramble but don't be turned off by the length of a song.
Sit back, open your mind, and let the song take you away.
Next thing you know the 15 min. song is over and you want it to last longer.
