Here is our fifth day. We are staying in Hollywood and today we are visiting Santa Monica, Venice Beach and Venice Canals.

Nope - not a fan of Venice Beach. Visited once when our son lived in Marina Del Ray (he has lived in a lot of places 😄). He then moved to Redondo Beach and I much preferred that. His apartment was one row back from beach front and we would walk down to the beach to watch the sun set. At that time his office was in Long Beach and if the waves were up he would surf at sunrise, back into his place to shower then head into work. I couldn’t find the video for the journey from Cambria south into the Los Angeles area. I had a quick look at “Life with Lisa” but didn’t notice it.

Not a fan of Venice beach either. I agree with @MrEdwinhardesty love Newport, Laguna and Long Beaches.

I grew up in LA and Venice beach has always been a bad area with lots of drug users and lots of crime. Santa Monica is a little nicer but is probably the homeless capital of the world. If you want to experience the high life of California, head south to Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, and Dana Point. Much nicer down there than LA proper.

100% agree. I (Ade) lived a short drive from Laguna Beach when lived in California many years ago for a few months. Always loved Dana Point 😊 Also there are so many other places along the way as well aren’t there 😊🤍

@@AdeandLisa , yes there are some nice areas, mostly on the coast, on the way down like Manahattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach but I think the beach towns of South Orange County are nicer. Inland South Orange county is also nice and has some of the lowest crime rates in the USA.
