A few decades ago when I was pregnant I did have a brown line running down my bump. It disappeared quite quickly after birth. I used shea butter on my bump and thighs and did not have a single stretch mark. Being pregnant is so different now to way back when - so much more is available, including support. There were no disposable nappies when my son was born. I had to thread a large safety pin through the front of nappies which was very precarious with a wriggly baby. Fun fact, the dark line is because newborn babies cant see that well and basically years ago you would birth the baby and it would be able to make its own way up to your breasts to feed, the dark line and dark areolas guided the baby :) for a couple of months the baby can also only see far enough to see your face while they’re feeding at the breast ❤
