Me too - loved it. 💚💚💚 Such a fab collection.. And yes, calatheas are my big nemesis too. Oh I've had so many show downs and said goodbye to a few. But am trying again with a calathea white star. One idea - mine all got bad crispy leaves and just gave up. But living in London, the water is so hard I think it's too much for calatheas. So am trying with rainwater (bucket on balcony!) and even got a water distiller (oops, obsessive). This may be an idea for city dwellers...a thought. Once more Jason, thanks for the inspiration. We need the bedroom tour...😁😂🤣
@@CloudGardenerUK Hey Jason! Thank you for asking My little diva seems well so far...she only joined the houseplant family in October though. Am misting her leaves and using rainwater for general watering. Fingers crossed! Have a good day.
.. Calatheas do not respond well to tap water as the chemical, salts and whatever else in the water will kill them, no matter how good the water is said to be.. They need to be watered when they are almost halfway dry, but never ever let them soak or dry out, as that too will kill them almost instantly.. A moist meter can be a very good help really.. .. I boil my tap water, cools it off and run it through a paper coffee filter.. Then it is ready for fertilizer (seaweed, fish emulsion and Tripart Terra Aquatica for hard water) I use the water both for watering and for misting.. Misting doesn't really do anything but keeps the foliage clean from dust (plants kinda breathe through their leafs), but then I spend time twice a month to clean each and every leaf with a microfiber cloth and a spray bottle with seaweed in it.. That way I can spend time relaxing at the same time as I can do a checkup on every plant 🤗 once a month they need a flush clean to get rid of whatever is left in the soil from fertilizer that the plant didn't use.. (it is in fact similar to give your kidneys a clean up) 😉 .. Important things to know about Calatheas is that they hate cold weather, they die (almost on the spot) if they get any drafts, they need bright indirect light and a high humidity and a humidifier will be a great help.. After all, they are very tropical plants 🌞 🤔 .. Try to take them out of the pot, remove all soil and black roots (they have died anyway) and you might see the tiny "band" they are wrapped in around the base.. Remove the band carefully and give the plant new well drained soil (use the same pot as they like to stay a little tight in there).. A good mix of coco coir, perlite, orchid bark and if posible, a wee bit of cactus soil with lava rock, lime stone and zeolite in it.. Then just put it back on a warmer place, water when necessary and be patient 🌱 it will slowly come back to life 🤗

I can totally relate regarding Calatheas. Mine just suddenly flopped and the stems got damaged as it flopped over the wire support so all cut back but still no sign of growth after 3 months. I would like to know what the damage is on your snake plant as I have never seen that amount (sorry) on any of my Sansevieria. I have odd nibbles ,as I call them, on a couple of my plants and do wonder what they are. I've just hit subscribe so I will be checking out more of your videos. Love your humour.

@@CloudGardenerUK Aww thanks for your kind words. I think plants help to instil a bit of patience, I have had quite a few plants where I honestly thought they were a goner and I tend to place them somewhere with the intention of getting rid of them and then I just end up forgetting about them. So, when I do remember them or come across them when watering there is generally some sign of life. It's amazing how resilient plants can be. I love my ever-growing plantiverse, lol. Hey Neighbour, I did a tour of Bents.. It's great but a little expensive. I tend to go to Glasshouse or their newest store Nice Things on Oldham Street. If you pop in to their stores let them know you came after watching one of my vids (I have a tour of Glass House on my channel). I also use Flourish Tib Street and Northern Flower Tib Street too 😊 So glad you enjoyed the tour. I am working on the follow now 🥰

Alexandra is simply fabulous! Do you have a balcony too? Mine is south/south west facing so I get full sun all afternoon from 2pm in Winter to 9.30pm in Summer 🥰
I'm so glad of your houseplant videos as that is all I have. Most of mine I have no idea what they are but I was given one with massive leaves that are now going brown and wrinkles around the edges. I also have two Madagascan Dragon Trees that are dropping their leaves. Some are yellow and some are brown and crispy. How do I get new growth from the bald stumps?
I had two beautiful coffee plants. I sprayed them with an insecticide and boy those things came with brown spots all over them. I gave them to the trashcan.
Another amazing video I think the brother and sister plant you should keep them separate the coffee plant don't give up don't give up and I stopped counting plants that you had after 15th so what's the total count of how many plants you do have I want to stay 75
I Love your space ❤ And i just started watching. I also have a bird of paradise that was gifted to me. But it has 9stems in 1 big pot. I need to seperate them. Do you have some advice on that? Mine is blooming now so i figured to leave it alone for now.
@@CloudGardenerUK no its fine! Being real is hard but its the right thing to do. There is perfection in imperfection! I actually left you question i just added it to my post.
9 plants in one pot? That's quite a bit although if it's flowering it's clearly happy. Is it very root bound? I would leave it for a while. I will record my next pot changing video for you and then you can follow those steps once yours has finished flowering 🥰

I did a tour of Bents.. It's great but a little expensive. I tend to go to Glasshouse or their newest store Nice Things on Oldham Street. If you pop in to their stores let them know you came after watching one of my vids (I have a tour of Glass House on my channel). I also use Flourish Tib Street and Northern Flower Tib Street too 😊
So glad you enjoyed the tour. I am working on the follow now 🥰
@@CloudGardenerUK thanks for the info, I certainly will be paying Glasshouse a visit and will let them know you directed me there! Fantastic videos, liked and subscribed. Keep going, addictive viewing!! 😀😀
They'll be chuffed! They are a great little business! 😊 Thank you so much for joining the CG family. Welcome to our planty madness! 🥰
Hi, I just discovered your channel via Alexandra, The Middle Size garden. Can you tell me what the sun exposure is on your balcony? Thanks.
Wow if you’re local in the uk I would love to trade some clippings 😮❤
I had two beautiful coffee plants. I sprayed them with an insecticide and boy those things came with brown spots all over them. I gave them to the trashcan.
oh no!! I'm so scared to use them so I try and stay clear of them where possible
do you have the berry airhead, they are very pretty
No :( but I will find room in my front room somehow if I ever find one 🤣
Another amazing video I think the brother and sister plant you should keep them separate the coffee plant don't give up don't give up and I stopped counting plants that you had after 15th so what's the total count of how many plants you do have I want to stay 75
Thank you soo much! 🤗🥰❤ I think after the reveal at the end.. it's actually more around the 100+ mark 😳 What's your total?
@@CloudGardenerUK a total of 22 and Rising
Humidity, do you use a humidifier? If not, I really think it would help a lot. I'm new to you channel. So I don't know. Beautiful collection.
Definitely worth an investment i think ❤
I Love your space ❤
And i just started watching.
I also have a bird of paradise that was gifted to me. But it has 9stems in 1 big pot. I need to seperate them. Do you have some advice on that? Mine is blooming now so i figured to leave it alone for now.
Thank you!! I'm so nervous with this one. I feel a little exposed 🙈🙈
@@CloudGardenerUK no its fine! Being real is hard but its the right thing to do. There is perfection in imperfection! I actually left you question i just added it to my post.
@@AmasAuthenticJourney Thank you! I hope it at least makes people smile and not feel so bad about any imperfections on their collection 😊
9 plants in one pot? That's quite a bit although if it's flowering it's clearly happy. Is it very root bound? I would leave it for a while. I will record my next pot changing video for you and then you can follow those steps once yours has finished flowering 🥰
How many plants do you have?
I think it's near 100+ inside. I just released the bedroom houseplant tour today.. it's the part 2 of this one 🥰
I didn't kill it I helped it transition ☠️☠️☠️😂😂😂
Bahahhaha!! You are my people! lool
Keep them separate
I think you might be right there ❤
❤
