I feel like keeping the balance from the classic cocktail with the (often sweetened) whiskeys is a mistake. which is why they always end up too sweet, might be worth giving them a chance to be balanced by pulling down the syrup.
gotta say - loving Meredith's increased involvement in the episodes. It's good to see Greg playing off of another person who's also knowledgable and can add her own flair. Keep Meredith around!
Just here to add feedback. I am LOVING how Meridith is showing up more in these videos. You having someone to bounce things off of and get a second POV on things, has really had great results.
I love how "the episode that shall not be named" is part of the channel lore as the reason Greg can't drink Manhattans anymore. Sad because the Manhattan is one of my personal favourite cocktails, but hilarious nonetheless.
“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away” is attributed to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a beloved French author and aviator (1900-1944). I think it’s from “The Airman’s Odyssey”, although I do not know which book in that three-volume compilation contains it.
These whiskeys don’t seem like they’re suited to being a replacement for the main spirit in a drink. They’re usually heavily sweetened, which isn’t the case for normal whisky, and much lower proof. Maybe if they were added as a modifier, or say 1 ounce of the flavored whisky and one ounce of normal whisky to raise the proof and cut the sweetness, they would work better.
It wasn't enough for the odd idea of an obnoxious clown ruining your wine tasting with screaming and doing a little breakdance, but it is Greg's deadpan delivery of the description that dictates a demonically duplicitous diatribe such as that.

"What's the point of flavored whiskey?" Ask any college student, especially one in a frat, or that handsome black man with a Caribbean accent that makes potions that make you fall down, I'm sure either one can figure out something to do with it, especially if there's a party coming up.
The interesting part about these episodes is, that it shows that even those weird flavored spirits can be used successfully in a cocktail, even though they are barely drinkable when neat. It doesn't answer the question how they appeared in the house in the first place, but at least it offers a way to get rid of them.
I would like to see a followup on this episode where he takes each of the whiskeys and find a drink that highlights them the best, if it's possible. Can he do it, can it be done?
When my dad gave me the graduation gift that started my burgeoning home bar, the bottles he picked out were tanqueray gin, and a canadian club apple. Let me tell you, that canadian club apple made a damn good toddy

That's what I want to see! Maybe starting from the recipes from the companies themselves. I know that Screwball has several for their PB whiskey. Then improving them if necessary.
So how much syrup do you put in that? Because I find I only put in a quarter ounce when mixing with Crown products (except the Harvest Rye) because they're so sweet.
I don't know enough about cocktails to know if this qualifies as a different drink altogether, but cherry and lime go together well in nonalcoholic preparations, so maybe a Cherry Whiskey Smash with limes instead of lemons would turn out better. You might not even need to cut down on the amount of simple syrup just by cutting the sweetness with more lime.

I'm going be honest here. I recently found your channel, I rarely drink, and I know nothing about making drinks. But I absolutely love all of the content I've seen! Haha. Glad you seem to be having fun and willing to take risk with new formats!
I kinda want to just see an episode of this dedicated to spinning the wheel for just old fashioneds. I feel like some flavors could work well but others definitely would not. It would be a pretty entertaining episode imo.
The Crown Peach goes rather well with a nice sharp ginger beer. The spice from the ginger kinda mellows the artificial peach. It's more of a quick mixed drink rather than a cocktail, but its pretty decent on a hot evening
I gotta say I love it when Meredith chimes in adding to the dialogue. Love these wheelify episodes. They make for an interesting 'what if' and it's even better when something works out well. Cheers
When it comes to any drink variation (using a flavored liquor or additional mixer) I generally leave out the simple syrup to start. I figure you can always reintroduce it, but you can't take it out, and most of these always lean too sweet with their full measure.
Wheel of Whisky - ah I remember that Scottish gameshow from the 70s, before those kill joys in the NHS said it glamorised binge drinking when one of the contestants died of liver failure on air.
I feel like a few of these could make their way to the local mid-priced bistro's cocktail menu. You know, the kind of place that offers an old fashioned but they use an ounce of simple syrup because people want incredibly sugary drinks.
Loving these videos Greg, I would love to see a return of the "customer is always wrong" videos and possibly some more video game drinks. There is one from Far Cry 6 that has a recipe for burnt sugar simple syrup that I think you could make a video from
I think we can all agree that this show is at its funniest when we can see Greg’s grasp on reality making a break for freedom out of his ears. PEACHES!
I love this series, but I'd love to see the attempts at making any of these "good"--like with the attempts to turn drinks from tv/video games into something drinkable
I freaking love this series you've got started between this and the vodka one. I love the idea of finding some random new combination of flavors that totally works that I'd never think to try on my own.
I would love an episode where you spin the wheel and make the best cocktail you can create with that flavored drink. It would help me finally find delicious things to do with all this flavored alcohol people like to give as gifts.
I swear, your show concepts just keep getting better and better. I especially love "The Customer Is Always Wrong". Keep playing with concepts; you're putting out great content as always.
The thing I love most about Meredith's cameos is that they give a really fun impression that Greg has a whole group of friends who are into cool shit like video production and experimenting with cocktails like he is.
Lol wow, I was not expecting this to go so poorly. I thought at least 1 of them would be remotely ok, or at least something you could tweak slightly to make functional. Maybe this would work better with some of the flavored gins? There's plenty of those out there.
man that NY sour review had me literally uncontrollably laughing for the last 5-10 minutes. This channel truly has some of the best drink reviews ive ever heard before.

Hey all, great channel. I been taking it easy but tonight my mom is getting near the end. no more hospitals she's home here with us now where she belongs. but to the lighter point I went out to grab something to feel good with. I came home with a 1/5th of Carolans Salted Caramel Creme and my very first 1/5th of Plantation. EPIC. a bit of the creme on rocks with a splash of that sugar.. it's helping. and that's one of it's purposes. we're lucky to have such things to enjoy. cherish every sip of life. I'll call the drink "Cilla's Send-off". awesome channel & group.
Honestly, I hardly ever comment on any video's but I really love this channel and I think this game is a very welcoming addition to the show :D keep up the great work!
I don’t know if alcohol suggestions exist on this channel, but I figured that I’d throw Balcones whiskey into the mix. Their “baby blue” whiskey is their main item, but I am a big fan of their bourbon. It has a pleasant apple nose with a creamy pecan taste. I know that they ship it across the country, but I’d even be willing to send a bottle myself to the channel for them to use.
I think it would be pretty cool if after you did a couple of these, you took what you've and make actual food versions of the cocktail. So for the cherry whiskey smash maybe take out mint, add in something else, and name it.
at my bar, our liquor rep gave us some beach coconut whiskey and some cinnamon whiskey and we were tasked to come up with drinks for them. the beach coconut makes an excellent sour with pineapple. the equal amount of acids and sweetness from the pineapple but still sorta tasting like a whiskey sour is a WILD taste and it is certainly a nice refreshing summer whiskey cocktail
I have to say that the longer I watch this episode the more I want the format to change a bit, I really like the idea of Greg just spinning the wheel three or four times, picking a corresponding number of cocktails from the skull, and then matching them to make what he thinks would be the best pairings. Maybe just so he'll hurt himself less, but I also think that it sounds like a better show.
OMG, "We got a Peach Crown Royal Dice Bag". Bruh, you are *legit*. Mad respect here, one nerd to another. That said, Greg. Seriously. Make drinks I might want to make and drink. Just a suggestion, one tipsy gamer to another.
I like flavored whiskeys and trying to make different drinks with then. My favorite so far is a “old fashioned peanut butter cup”. I use peanut butter whiskey, cocoa bitters, instead of simple syrup i use a dark chocolate liqueur, and ice. It’s a dessert drink for sure.
Needs a part two with the rest of the flavored whiskeys. And there needs to a quest to find the best classic cocktails to use the ones already used. Plus if these are already sweetened, cut back on any syrup being added to balance them. You really won't lose the essence of the cocktail if you dial that back down if you're already using a sweetened main spirit.
I would love to see a mystery bag pull episode. Some iconic drinks are discovered through experimenting. One bag with spirits, one bag with bitters/liqueurs, one bag with modifiers (citrus, egg white, pineapple juice, etc). It would be cool to have Greg invent his own iconic cocktail.
Flavored spirit decathlon, which flavor fits into the most drinks that spirit is used for. maybe not all at once save your liver lol, maybe even with a placement board (not sure if that is too campy)
I love to guess just how deep into the filming day he is when he makes the video. This feels like a late day video, maybe even the final video of the day.

I'm going be honest here. I recently found your channel, I rarely drink, and I know nothing about making drinks. But I absolutely love all of the content I've seen! Haha. Glad you seem to be having fun and willing to take risk with new formats!
Dude, same.
“Here’s a taste of the neat Whiskey Dick…”
You did that on purpose, Greg.
The New York Sour description story alone made this episode pure gold. its gold, Jerry, Gold!
Would love to see a tour of the bottle collection. Do you throw out or gifts ones you don’t really use?
I gotta say I love it when Meredith chimes in adding to the dialogue. Love these wheelify episodes. They make for an interesting 'what if' and it's even better when something works out well. Cheers
I'll never get tired of watching Greg get progressively more drunk while trying to describe the weirdest drinks
Haha Greg you're such a dork and i'm absolutely here for it!
When it comes to any drink variation (using a flavored liquor or additional mixer) I generally leave out the simple syrup to start. I figure you can always reintroduce it, but you can't take it out, and most of these always lean too sweet with their full measure.
First time in my 29 years I’ve heard the word himbo. I didn’t need to know this. you didn’t need to know this. May it forever be forgotten.
Wheel of Whisky - ah I remember that Scottish gameshow from the 70s, before those kill joys in the NHS said it glamorised binge drinking when one of the contestants died of liver failure on air.
Dying of liver failure from whisky? Can't have been a true Scotsman.
Uh wow, that sounds intense
I love this show so much that I’ll save new episodes to watch later, forget to watch for a month, then have a wonderful HTD marathon. Cheers Greg!
I feel like a few of these could make their way to the local mid-priced bistro's cocktail menu. You know, the kind of place that offers an old fashioned but they use an ounce of simple syrup because people want incredibly sugary drinks.
3/4oz honey simple, 6 dashes of bitters, 3oz bourbon. That’s my old fashioned
The sheer torture you put yourself through for our amusement and so we don't have to try this is astounding. Hats off to you sir
Loving these videos Greg, I would love to see a return of the "customer is always wrong" videos and possibly some more video game drinks. There is one from Far Cry 6 that has a recipe for burnt sugar simple syrup that I think you could make a video from
I just woke up my family I laughed so hard at the peach whiskey tasting notes. That was hilarious
I think we can all agree that this show is at its funniest when we can see Greg’s grasp on reality making a break for freedom out of his ears.
PEACHES!
The limp sprig of mint paired with the particular brand of whisky in that first drink -- perfection.
Y'know... I'm kinda wondering what sort of cocktail the Walnut Toffee would be good in, as it DOES sound interesting.
I'm thinking Irish coffee.
Old fashioned as a desert cocktail
I would love an episode where you spin the wheel and make the best cocktail you can create with that flavored drink. It would help me finally find delicious things to do with all this flavored alcohol people like to give as gifts.
I think we need more Meredith, it's
A. A second opinion.
B. Your natural co-host.
C. A second brain to bounce thoughts off of.
Just an idea.
I swear, your show concepts just keep getting better and better.
I especially love "The Customer Is Always Wrong". Keep playing with concepts; you're putting out great content as always.
Was watching this with my 8 month old son and he loved when you started singing ❤... had to rewind a couple times for him haha
Round 2 of the Skull and Wheel society. Still no robes or masks though
I really appreciate the extra Meridith lately 💕 Greg has always been great but it's even better having someone to play off of. Keep it coming y'all
How many uses can I find for this wheel? Stay tuned
man that NY sour review had me literally uncontrollably laughing for the last 5-10 minutes. This channel truly has some of the best drink reviews ive ever heard before.
this wheel reminded me wheel of the worst from RLM, hey Greg please befriend the guys from RLM (should be easy since half of them are alcooholics) and make a wheel of booze + bad movies together
2:42 "Mentok! The Mind Taker" Also a good name for a cocktail...
i already new you were a nerd, that much has been clear. But the fact that i was excited about the pretty peach dice bag right at the same time you actually said it out loud... god i'm so glad i'm here.
That coconut old fashioned definitely sounds like something cronk would order. Maybe using orange ango bitters would help that come together.
Thanks Greg and Meredith. I am enjoying the series for sure. The "Peach colored Crown Royal Dice Bag" got me for sure. Hahaha
I love how you call the Crown Royal sleeve a “dice bag.”
I know that they ship it across the country, but I’d even be willing to send a bottle myself to the channel for them to use.
i am a himbo stan and i LOVE that you called the coconut old fashioned a himbo drink
I know many of these are filmed in a single day, and it's pretty obvious this was the last one done this day. Kudos sir
"Oh, an old fashioned. That'll work with almost anythin.... Coconut? How is that a thing?" The words that came out of my mouth.
I quit drinking but I still watch this show. It's very entertaining
I hope you bring out more of the wheel. It’s a fun way to try new things that you’d never expect or try. I might have to do something like that. Lol
I had a very lovely Blueberry Mint Julep at Zanzibar in Louisville, KY. 100% recommend.
I'd love to see a series of "greg tries to make good drinks with flavored x"
Like making some good with some of these weird flavored whiskeys etc.
I did not expect a discussion about HIMBOS but Im here for it
I would love to see a mystery bag pull episode.
I really hope you come back to these random cocktails and see if some of them can be saved. Some of the too sweet ones may be better without syrup.
Millions of peaches, peaches for me. Can't help think of that song due the editing of Greg shouting peaches. Thanks!
