I would fab up a headache rack to protect the back window. Window replacements are not cheap. Granted, everything seems to be secured down good. However, you can never be too safe.
I want to get into pipeline welding but I have a few questions and it would be great if you could answer them. 1. Why do you have to supply your own rig 2. Is it better to be in a union 3. Why do pipeline welders make so much 4. Is there a ketch to the job or are you getting paid for your skill 5. Is there a lot of work out there in pipeline welding 6. Is it true, do some companies pay a bonus if the weld passes x-ray 7. If I have all my certifications, will I still start as a helper or as long as I have a rig can I start as a welder 8. What do I do if I get out of school with all my certifications and I don't have a rig. Will a company supply one or will I have to be a helper until I buy a rig. Thanks. Again
Nice vid man plus I see you stay in claysville ive been in the patch for about 9 years. Happy to see the work picking up! Anyway be safe out there and rock on!
Brotha you have a clean rig. I work for SWAT and run shutdowns. Sometimes I wish I would have became a row dog but I don't know anyone on, so it would have been hard. Maybe one day
I'm glade ya'll finally got out to show off the rig. It was a great video. I would agree with maxi though. There isn't to many videos on youtube of experienced guys laying out branches. I myself will be practicing laying them out starting next month. maybe we talk austin into doing a short video on dos and don't when laying out a branch. These is food for thought. Anyway you guys stay safe out there god bless.
Great purpose built rig. Would love to see a more in depth video on tools and the bed itself, also maybe a video talking about ways to find a helper positions.
Neither of us are super hip on welding rig trucks but we both really enjoyed this! I really liked the intro! Austin is super talented making that bed himself I can dig it!!! Beto loves the custom bed as well. It is sleek an organized it doesn't look like a million things are going on when really it looks like that's what it could be lol
It could be a mess for sure. He did a great job with this bed. I love it more than the last, but he already has ideas for another so I am sure he will be at it again eventually.
As far as your YETI, keep the drain cracked to drain water. The forward and backward movement of your truck jostles the ice around, it breaks down, and then it melts easier, which in turn, your ice is jostling around in water. BTW, good job on the video.
bill45colt You bet. Thanks for watching. I started a welding channel if you don’t already know. Go check it out and let me know what other videos you might like. Email works best for me. Arosswelding@gmail.com
We have had a couple people interested in that before. We plan to make some more pipeline videos this year and will add that to the list of possibilities. Thank you for the request. Hope you have a wonderful day also. God bless. - Kayla
This would be very helpful, I'm about to be going to school for a cert and would love to know how to get in the pipeline side of things, i used to be an NDT level 2
Austin and Kayla can you explain why most welders own cummins trucks rather than duramax's or 350s? Im going to college in 3 weeks to learn how to weld so i want to learn everything i can to be a good welder and make that money!
Slick rig! I really like that bed! You should do a more in depth video on tools I noticed a jack stand clamp I'd like to see if you have other home made stuff. Do you carry bevel machines normally?
Some things are locked and some things you just hope people will do the right thing. We have had things stolen before and it just means replacing it because there is no real good way to lock it up. Not fun, but just the way it is. Thank you for watching. - Kayla
I would like to se someone do a pipe line TV show like Ice Road but all welding
When he said he carries 3 rod boxes and a bottle jack I thought he said a bottle of Jack haha I was like yeah rock on!!
haha I am sure there are some guys with a stash of Jack in their truck. - Kayla

We have added that to the list of possible videos. Thank you for the suggestion and for watching. God bless. - Kayla
Corey Smith look up 12" branch lay out. A buddy of mine Has one on UA-cam. It's actually very good and informative. The Blue Book tells How to do it.
Great looking truck👍👍
Nice rig setup 🤩
Great purpose built rig. Would love to see a more in depth video on tools and the bed itself, also maybe a video talking about ways to find a helper positions.
Thank you for the suggestions on videos. - Kayla
I've only just started learning how to weld and only have a small everlast welder but one day I want to build out a rig like yours. Great work.
Looks real nice man
Nice rig!!
Neither of us are super hip on welding rig trucks but we both really enjoyed this! I really liked the intro! Austin is super talented making that bed himself I can dig it!!! It could be a mess for sure. He did a great job with this bed. I love it more than the last, but he already has ideas for another so I am sure he will be at it again eventually.
Austin and Kayla ,
It would be interesting if he started a custom bed building business and made that his money maker.
Nice set up.

Hot damn, nice setup. Thanks for the tour!
SkepticalZombie
You bet. Thanks for watching.
I don't know anything about welding but this video was very interesting. Maybe because I love trucks 👍🏽
Probably so. A cool truck is a cool truck - right?
You keep saying it's a work truck but it's the cleanest I have ever seen.
As far as your YETI, keep the drain cracked to drain water. The forward and backward movement of your truck jostles the ice around, it breaks down, and then it melts easier, which in turn, your ice is jostling around in water. BTW, good job on the video.
Very nice.

awesome truck, good build on box, and dodge truck A++++++++
Thank you. We agree on the Dodge. - Kayla
Man i think a good video would be how to lay out a branch from start to finish. I think alot of people would enjoy that as well. Have a blessed day.
We have had a couple people interested in that before. We plan to make some more pipeline videos this year and will add that to the list of possibilities. Thank you for the request. Hope you have a wonderful day also. God bless. - Kayla
yeah that would be a very interesting video to watch i agree.
when you said bottle jack at first I swore you said a bottle of Jack lol
I am sure there more than a few rig tucks equipped with that too. lol

great vid. maybe a vid about your prior welding career and how to get on the pipe line welding for people in school? thanks!!!!!
Great suggestion. We will add that to our list of video ideas. Thank you. Take care. - Kayla
This would be very helpful, I'm about to be going to school for a cert and would love to know how to get in the pipeline side of things, i used to be an NDT level 2
at 10:03 the use of the electrodes to hold the grinder guards lol
Would like to see a video of the specs/build of your rig’s bed
nice set up.... can't beat the dodge Cummins setup
Ya no doubt
Austin and Kayla can you explain why most welders own cummins trucks rather than duramax's or 350s? Im going to college in 3 weeks to learn how to weld so i want to learn everything i can to be a good welder and make that money!
Omar Rojas reliability, can't make money if you can't get to work
Love the welding rig
Thank you for watching - Kayla
Nice rig that's skill on doing your own bed
Great vid I'm also up in pa/Ohio where you at maybe we can meet up. Be safe out there brother.
Yea I have a question show us how to build it “the bed”
I have much respect for this man!!
Slick rig! I really like that bed! You should do a more in depth video on tools I noticed a jack stand clamp I'd like to see if you have other home made stuff. Do you carry bevel machines normally?
I had no idea how much stuff you had back there! So custom and organized-you have mad skills. How do you keep the items secure back there from theft?
Some things are locked and some things you just hope people will do the right thing. We have had things stolen before and it just means replacing it because there is no real good way to lock it up. Not fun, but just the way it is. Thank you for watching. - Kayla
Wow...impressive. I miss my Dodge 3500 megacab........
Hey Man, nice truck
