- The Wheatley boys were back at home looking to chalk up a fourth win in a row against Kivo on Saturday.
Our recent run, ignited by the arrival of the ultra-talented Kirk Edwards, meant we’ve opened up a nice gap between ourselves and the bottom five in the league.
Jimmy was on the ones and twos for this hard-fought contest which could have gone either way at various points.

Nice to see Annie return to some semblance of form. Intelligent bat that adapts to conditions.
Pitch seemed a little slow with a few wickets through their shots and some Wheatley variable bounce.
No worries on the lack of washing, we now have rocking chair in alcove window as our new saviour.
Slightly disappointed no one said, "Mind the windows Tino!" after Kirk's six.

Great coverage Jimmy Nix and another super win for Wheatley. Dont forget not to put the result before we watch. Another site i watch did this, by saying the oppo were all out for 50, but batted second. Their clicks were halved for that game, because we all knew the result. That 6 by Kirk Edwards was huge. It hit something by the sound of it landing lol.

Very good win, that six from Kirk Edwards was incredible.
looked good but then again that boundary is 40 yards if that! played with number of pros who cleared big boundaries on regular occasions. If batting 1st against that slow bowler, someone whos played test matches should be easily taking 25 to 30 runs an over off him especially on a tiny ground.
It’s very short straight at Wheatley but cameras famously foreshorten the view too. In 20 years at Wheatley I’ve NEVER seen anyone clear those bungalows. Monster hit.
@@WheatleyTVthe boundary to the bungalows is small but that garden is a lot longer than it looks plus it’s a lot higher than the wicket. I dare say thats 6 on most grounds in the world
@@viewfield5 I played for Wheatley for 30 years Batting at the Tennis court end the nearest house roof is around 80m. There is one house that stands slightly back from the others and that is a 90m hit. Measured on Google Earth Pro.

Cheers, Byron, good to hear! Stumbling is actively encouraged round here. We use a Canon 250D (the cheapest model that films in HD), a 55-250mm telephoto lens (because cricket happens far away from where you’ll be filming) and a tripod that I found in my late father-in-law’s garage. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Any chance of camera moving so you can see what’s happening rest of outfield,poor coverage just showing 22yds , apart from laughing at the slips lol.
Easy game where you’re sitting, Ellers! It’s way more awkward than you imagine trying to manipulate a photo camera on a fixed tripod on a ground bumpier than a camel’s back while trying to commentate simultaneously. Like playing lead guitar and being lead singer on a fishing boat on the North Sea.

We missed Papplewick away in our first season too because of holidays. A real shame as it’s one of the nicest grounds around. Looks likely we’ll get another chance next season!
