Yes, Angie has a friendly, soothing voice that is easy to listen to; it makes a huge difference, because some folks' voices make me want to shut the sound off.🥴
I'm assuming that your saying that this wasn't a big project refers to the size of the piece, because this was a huge project as far as labor goes. Obviously a labor of love. Beautiful job! You definitely love what you do! Thanks for sharing.
You're so good at this. I watch a lot of these videos and I enjoy your restorations the most. You have a great eye for this and good woodworking chops! I like your easy going style of presentation (some other furniture flippers on UA-cam narrate their videos as if they have just painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!) and you clearly aren't shilling product for any brands. I hope your subscriber count climbs as you deserve a much larger audience.
Love this restoration! I really think that your work is worthy of recognition....you’re bringing something fresh to the table. Old school skills that some of the top furniture artists don’t have...Congratulations, I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work :)
I would love to get a find like that! I know the pandemic has caused board game sales to skyrocket but this would last forever! Love the tutorial and great color picks🤩💕
I realized today that watching your videos is somehow therapeutic for me. Just listening to your narration and watching your work releases stress. It also gives me inspiration and ideas for projects around the house. Thank you!
What a great game table. The parts I would never, ever miss: all those scallops - even the legs had scallops! Another exceptional job - you've made this a lovely piece for any home. 💜
Loved watching the whole project and love the handle you chose. The gold color you applied made it even more special. I would have liked to see a side by side, before and after shot.
I love love love this little table! You do really well with what you have to work with - getting started building up your stash of tools is a really slow process! I hope your UA-cam channel takes off in a big way!
Just "bumped into" your channel! I think you are one of the very very few people with actual taste and a keen eye for aesthetics on UA-cam! My only "problem" (pet peeve, OCD...) is that you don't paint the inside of the furniture and the drawers! I get that most people don't and it's cost and time consuming for you but that is a major factor for me when I'm looking to buy a piece of furniture! Again, though... Great, GREAT style!
really beautiful work. i love how you’ve made something new out of mane reclaimed pieces. and the crystals lined up at the end are a nice decorative touch for pictures!
You are extremely talented. That piece is gorgeous. I appreciate that you don't have "all" the tools. You show us how to improvise with what we own. You are going to be a big success. Thank you for the education.
I’ve only viewed a couple of your videos/projects, and look forward to seeing more of what you create. So many of these furniture redo’s feel repetitive, and although I enjoy seeing them, yours feel different and original. You are truly talented!
Love the videos! I think you could definitely spend a bit more time on the final reveal. I’ve found myself wanting more closeups and details each time. Also, ask for likes and subscribes! Great work 😊
Geez, every time I think I've seen what will be my favorite video, I go on to the next one of yours and say the exact same thing... "This is my favorite video!" This turned out beautifully! Love the choice of Black to pair the top and legs with. No clamps during this entire re-do. I find the inevitable glue and clamp scenarios very satisfying, haha. I can't remember what you were doing when I noticed this (maybe sanding?) but for whatever reason the piece was wobbling a bit as you went back and forth. I just kept thinking, "How can she stand that as she works?" Maybe you didn't even notice, but I wanted so much to offer a matchbook to stick under the short side, haha. Thanks for sharing another great vid! These are addictive!
Haha it’s my floor! It’s super uneven in the middle. I’m actually having an epoxy floor installed shortly that will even up that middle section so that things will stand flat! I’m so excited, haha!
Wow, what an amazing transformation! I have a game table that I purchased from Pier 1 some years ago. It is unused since it sits pretty close to the floor, but I never thought to replace the legs with something that would bring the height of the table up to a standard end table height. Thanks for the inspiration!
It turned out nice , but personally I'm not a big fan of the painted part or the particular legs used. That said it is nice though , it just doesn't "pop" for me... No offense though.... I do like a lot of your projects though...
I love the whole piece but the top is my favourite. I really enjoy your videos and the beautiful flippings. Once thing you do and find very useful are your tips and the diversity of products you use. You don't stick to the same ones all the time.
Love the technique for countersinking screws. It will come in handy for future projects. I like to salvage unique hardware as well. During a renovation of one of my daughter’s rental properties we demo’d the kitchen. The cabinets were cheap, cheap, crappy laminate and falling apart but the hardware was incredible!
Even without a table saw, you can do a lot with a circular saw and a long straight edge as a cutting guide. I love how you work with the tools you have. Keep up the good work!
Just found your channel and I’m binging. You have opened my eyes and given me a new perspective on refinishing furniture. Your skills are impeccable and you are a true artisan. I. Am. Obsessed!
Really great work! Had some concern about removing the "skirt" but after seeing how much more beautiful it made the table look I'm glad you did! Great work!
You never prime anything, you just paint right on the sanded wood. You seem mostly to use a lot of black. Does that make a difference? If you were using a light color, would you then prime the piece? I’m asking because I lost my husband 3 1/2 years ago and the house I have now needs trim, paint on the cabinets, etc. I’m trying to learn from you and not make humongous mistakes.
I actually do prime on occasion, if I’m painting over a wood that would have a lot of bleed though (where the tannins in the wood leech through the paint and stain it), or if it’s a super slick surface. I don’t prime if I’m using a darker colour on a well prepped surface. Cabinets (especially kitchen) should definitely be primed, no matter the colour being painted). I do a huge range of colours and to prime or not to prime just depends on the piece and what it would be used for. :-)
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery Thank you. That helps a lot. BTW, I love your natural creativity. Every video I’ve watched has seen you produce an original work of art. Well done young lady, well done.
Bonjour Angie, Absolutely beautiful piece! And love the chest pieces very original! Love your choices of colours and stain. I am very happy that I found your channel, your narration is perfect! Have a wonderful day and stay safe. Christine 🇨🇦
Not at all! I’ve spent quite literally hundreds and hundreds of hours over the last five years or so! Every time I was working on a piece, I’d be watching/learning. I still do! Still so much to learn!
No one needs to know your prices..just my thought...if they are in it for profit....Make up your own prices...JUST SAYIN.........Do NOT Give Out Your Prices....let them sell it for what they think they can get.........SORRY JUST SAYIN...Besides if everyone hates me...I can take it...it is your channel.... you do what you wish....but if you are going to go through all your content just to get info so they can sell.... but ya I don't think so.....
@TranscendFurnitureGallery I'm watching this again. I have an antique poker table that desperately needs an update. I got it for free! Not a fan of used baize or felt. I want to remove the old material and make an inlay for a chess board and backgammon. After playing with the idea...originally I was going to do 2 inlay side by side. Now I'm considering one double sided board that can be popped out and turned over. Plus a 2nd board stored under it. Any suggestions on the edge of the board? The 2nd board in place, the table will be used for poker or crocinole (lol having a brain freeze on that spelling so just pronounce it out).
@TranscendFurnitureGallery it turned out nice. I agree with the legs although I liked the scalloped edge for character. To each their own cuz how boring life would be if we were all the same! What games do you and your partner play? My neighbour growing up was a sanctuary for me. He taught me how to play othello (some call it reversii) using bottle caps! 30+ years later I still have them! He also taught me backgammon.
Excellent work and film.I was interested that the marquetry was uneven. This could be a sign of naval ‘make & mend’. Or possibly poor storage? If the former I would expect it to be over 100 years old. I have a ‘square wooden plate that has been turned into chess board.very thick and uneven placing for pieces. The origin of the phrase a ‘square meal’.
Yet another amazing piece! Not sure if it's your technique, brand of paint or what, but your painted areas are so impressive. It looks sprayed on. I'm so jelly! lol Still working on mine!
Do you do consultations? I have a coffee table I want to keep, but the top is scratched up. I’m willing to DIY it and try something, but I just have zero clue on what to do (paint? Stain? Paint and stain? Etc.).
Your work is beautiful. You also have a perfect ASMR voice. You might consider using a more neutral soundtrack then you can also tag your videos ASMR. It may get you even more views.
I really like what you are doing. I would like to suggest getting block plane and or a wood scraper. They will help you remove wood, and level areas quickly.
Love watching your very detailed and well explained videos. One question I have is, why do most furniture flippers use brushes and not small rollers. Is it the finish it gives. Would love to know. Tks.
Awesome, love this makeover. Questions, where did you get the Odies oil? Are you here in Canada ? I ask because That General Finishes stain is really expensive in Canada. I buy it across the border in Niagara Falls, NY but cant get over till they open up. It’s great as it goes over existing finishes. What did you apply to the legs? Thank you. Kim
Great decision to remove the scalloped decorative edge; this really is a classy look - wasn't sure you were going to be able to pull off filling in those gaps between the chequer squares successfully, but again, great work. Really lovin' this piece.
Yes, I know you do it to save the pieces but curious about prices. And does the gold spray on handles wear well? Plus, I love watching smaller jobs like bedside tables etc...
lovely piece,I admire your brush work greatly because I,ve decorated and changed 2 homes to date and I am OCD when it comes to finished paint work, that aside you are a true creative artist and love to watch you work,I have commented on another piece witch made me subscribe and I,m playing catch up on your work, take care and continue your passion
Really loving your attention to details, these pieces are amazing after you apply your gift of seeing exactly what the wood needs, rare gift indeed. Once I saw your Crystal wands as chess pieces I totally understood why I was so drawn to your channel. Keep it up ,can tell you've found a calling. 🥰🥰👍😍🤩
It's stunning! But I'm a little curious how many inches of height you lost in switching out the legs. Is it still a comfortable playing height? I assume coffee table height would be sufficient.
I saw a vintage piece at an antique mall that I liked. It was a small end table and was over $300. I would like to see a video on how to spot a vintage gem and what you should pay for it.
Just wow!! I would also be interested in what you paid for the piece, approx how much $ it took for the transformation and then what you sell it for..tfs
i love the finished piece and the chess pieces! you give excellent instruction on what you are doing and why you are doing it as well. i look forward to watching your videos!
There’s actually a few places here in Canada! I order mine from BC but if you do a google search for Odie’s Oil Canada, a few other retailers should pop up!

Wow this came out great nice to see the out of sight bits painted too attention to detail lifts it to another level
