35-45 cents per linear foot White or Yellow. 75Cents to 1 dollar per linear foot on Red due to fire lane being a bit wider and stencils etc.. I hope it helps some1
@JayJay-zv2dy does that include the cost of paint? I’ve been so confused on that for a long time and can’t find an answer but I want to get into the business
I contacted another business owner locally and let him know i was just starting off and needed help figuring out how to price these jobs. He gave me alot of good info and so far ive done well in this business because of it.
Totally agree on the quoting ratio, you have to be prepared to know you wont win some bids so don't underprice yourself and your company. I roughly use linear ft to determine a rough base cost but add all sorts of differing factors into my prices making sure to add value and make sure my line striping is professional, high quality and striving to be better each and every job to bring us up a few levels above our competetion.
As it relates to pricing, I weould imagine there is a difference between restriping and designing a striping project from scratch....? BTW, I have a Softwashing business, and I am considering adding this as a service. How much prep is involved in getting the surface cleaned. What are the types of paints being used and what are the pros and cons of each? Water based vs Oil vs price. PS we get the same questions over in the pressure washing forumns from guys just starting out. It can get annoying because it is the same questions over and over, but I try to not let it bother me because everyone starts from the same place, which is zero. I am considering making the transition because of lower back issues I am having and the use of harsh chemicals associated with softwashing.
Thank u for valuable info’s. What is an average cost for 5 lbs of paint ? More like $110 or more like $350. Also how many spaces it does ? Approx Thank u
Great question! I don't think that is a wise idea for parking lots, no. No two jobs are the same. If you work with a contractor multiple times, they will begin to understand where your pricing is based on the size of the job. I think the idea is in the right spirit, because it is trying to make the life easier for the contractor. However, simply building a relationship and asking good questions about their previous experience with subcontractors will better put you in a position to bring value to them and give you opportunities for recurring work.
@@stripeitlikeitshot awesome thank you. I run a residential painting business but am thinking of creating a second business for line striping. Looking to start low overhead. Any advice?
@@stripeitlikeitshot That was my first thought as I imagined the contracts with highways and the state are more competitive and higher overhead. Thanks for the feedback
If you're winning every bid, you're priced to low, increase the prices to get more per hour of your labor. Eventually, you'll make twice as much for 1/2 the work.

Is that for restripe or new layout?
That seems cheap...I don't know how u keep your doors open unless your swamped with work.

we just bought our own machine GRACO 3400 new versus paying inflated contractor pricing. A lot of major businesses are doing the same around us

@@IAMHIMyeah Hey! 5 gallon pail of paint is usually around $100-$150 when bought at a store. It will do 1800 feet of 4" striping, typically.
Is it a good idea to submit a pricing sheet to give contractors for sub contract work

What is the best website to access line striping equipment and stencils?
Lots of good options these days! We have used Stencil Plus a lot. Great service and products.

Do you offer seal coating? If not, why is that? Just out of curiosity..
Yes, we definitely do. It's not a common service item where we are, but we're trying to change that!
Is striping a good way to make a full time income or is it just a Side hustle
Start as a side hustle. When the income starts to get at or more than your full time job, then it is time to think about quitting the job.
