Hang in there. Take a Breath and Take care of yourself. You are AMAZING 🌹We moved my Sweet Momma in with us March 2016. She had Dementia and couldn't safely live alone. She passed August 9,2021. I lovingly cared for her and 2 of my Grandsons while my daughter worked. My hubby helped all he could but honestly the only time I left home was to grocery shop(quickly) and pick up my Grandsons from school with Momma in tow. I closed up 3 large booths in 2016. Before that I went to garage sales and auctions all weekend before she took ill. But I put it all on hold. I got rid of quite a bit except vintage jewelry and things I could safely store. My Sissy passed 3wks before Momma. I also seen to her shopping and laundry etc as she was a shut in for years. I said all that to tell you hang in there. I do not regret putting everything on hold. It's been 19mths and I still haven't started moving forward. I am FINALLY out of the deepest grief that took me to a dark place. UA-cam was my saving grace. I started watching videos. I kept telling myself I Will someday start selling again. I have bought some things off of What Not on others auctions for some good resell deals. Not to collect. I have met wonderful content creators in different genres. I am having a HUGE sale in April as soon as it's warm enough. I am trying to figure out on what platform I will sell. SO Much has changed.
You are a blessing to your mom. I am a retired nurse and ended my career working in a nursing home. While there is a need for quality nursing homes, it is far kinder if there is another option, and what you are doing for your mom is a beautiful gift. 🙏🥰
We all go through that, especially after you've been on vacation. But know that you have a HUGE fan base that adores you and always look forward to your smiling face, funk or not. You've got this, girl! 💙
I've been in this state for a couple of weeks. I'm taking a break from buying. I am working on listing what I have and putting things in order in my life. Best I have felt in months. Cleaning and organizing are good therapy.
I've had the same job for 39 years, retiring next year. I certainly understand that funk. Your parents are right, get out of your normal routine. Love you! ❤
@@debpate9405 Thank you! I'm a bit scared as I'm not sure what I want to do in my retirement. I will have 40 years with federal government in February 2024. I plan to go some time after.

Everyone feels this way once in awhile. I was at the same job for 28&1/2 years. Last year the “funk feeling” was really bad. Fortunately my husband was supportive enough to tell me to retire then instead of this year.
At 75 years young, you got me into thrifting. Unlike other thrifting videos, I learn from yours. Your open videos are delightful. Thanks for sharing your funk. We all can relate. Yes, expand your treasure hunts.
The struggle is real!! You'll probably feel better too when the weather improves. Warm and sunny always helps along with a change of scenery. It'll also be great memories for Ashton and Juliette with you and your parents. It's a good plan!! Looking forward to it!! Funk eradication tour 2023!!❤
It's a tough job as a business person, baby mom, and home manager. Creative people need visual inspiration to thrive. Good luck. You're doing a great job.
I feel the struggle. I’ve done the same job 25 years this year, with no end in sight. At least you have supportive parents. Mine could care less about anything I think or feel.
I agree with @skootwoodcoc.(sorry can’t see the full name) You are valuable! I don’t have to know you to say that. We each have a purpose and I can trust that you impact many more peoples lives than you realize. Big hugs to you!

You should have a day shopping with Dagny. She's so much fun you'll forget your funk! Also please update us on the "brown vase" I want to see what's underneath that paint.
At 67, I can tell you the "funk" can happen to anyone!! What is wonderful is that you are not ignoring it...and aren't feeling guilty about it working at addressing it. I owned my own biz for 30+ years and made the serious mistake of thinking I had to power through all funds always. At about year 28, i "unexpectedly" suffered a major debilitating depression (had never even suffered a mild one before!). If I had done something like what you're planning, I bet I would have avoided this to a large extent. So good on you for recognizing the problem and being so proactive!! I've observed that the strongest people can sometimes be the worst at spending a bit of time looking out for themselves and, as a result, also benefitting their family and their businesses! 🤗
Everyone, no matter what they do for a living, goes through a funk from time to time. It looks like the solution you worked out with your parents will do the trick. You are blessed to have them!
I was seriously waiting for you to hit a second Goodwill within the first 5 min of the video, lol. Please let us know what the brown spray painted German vase looks like underneath!
I once bought a Moorcroft enormous lamp that had been painted black - they sold it to me for $10 because the shade had been expensive... my husband recognized it because you could see the tridimensional design of the slip glaze. We cleaned it up with nail polish remover and milk - I sold it for over $3,000! It was a special exhibition piece dating to the early 1930s...
Everyone gets into a funk once in a while. Just remember you live a life that is the envy of many. I mean that in the best way. The great thing is that you have family that understands and loves you and is willing to help. Looking forward to the new adventures.
I think a good vacation DOES open up our life. Traveling once a month with your folks, your kids will never forget those happy trips. Great outcome to rethinking things!
A funk is an opportunity to reevaluate what matters most to you and switch things up, which you did! Good job. You are so lucky to have such a supportive web around you.
My husband and I have gone on many buying road trips. We have the best memories from it. We still talk about what treasure we found at each thrift store. Good times 😊
I really appreciate the intimate sharing of your process. I find you to be very real and can relate to waking up and realizing you need something, more. Good job Jocelyn.
It's ok to take a rest from the day to day work flow.. you are allowed to have a few days of rest from your busy routine. If you don't take time, you are doing a disservice to yourself. You are worth the wait for all of us. I was at a Goodwill in Portland, Oregon yesterday and I was chatting with a couple when I asked them if they watch your web page and they both said in unison.."Yes, we do!!"...and then out of the blue, we heard another guy from the next aisle over exclaim "Oh ..yeah .. I know who she is!!" We all started laughing out loud because we were all out to check out the Goodwill because of your wonderful web site..you are adored!
You’re burnt. It happens. And having ur family supporting you is a blessing. I look forward to ur new videos. I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you Ms. Jocelyn! Keep up the great work that u do. ❤🎉

I get it! I spent years caring for my husband until he passed last year. I'm thinking a few days at ANY beach at this point would recharge my engines. Been an Ebay seller over 20 years...even when I worked full time. I only know how to keep going.
You and Drew need to book a trip with Laura Caldwell! Day trips are great but time away would be awesome! Plus you two are so knowledgeable it would be fun to see you travel together!

Jocelyn, If you are looking for a new place outside your area, then check out Dubois, PA. There are a number of Goodwills in that area and they are pretty good. Also, Williamsport has some nice places, too...some American Rescues & Goodwills. Also, that isn't too far from Corning, NY. The Glass Museum there is awesome if you haven't been before. The Alexandria, VA area near Washingto DC also has some great thriftshops. Big ones. And it's the home of George Washington's home Mount Vernon. Just some ideas for you guys. Have fun!
Been there. The traveling worked great for me. My husband said the same thing. Once/month we are traveling, not too far but an overnight stay, just to see/do something different. It's a breath of fresh air.
Glad to hear you recognize having to break out of the routine. We worried about your health seeing your posts for quite awhile now. Three beautiful kids are depending on mom and dad for THEIR good health!
You work so hard and you had the baby and dove right back into your work. Then you had a much-deserved vacation and it's always a hard place to get back to the grind again. I appreciate all your hard work and enjoy all your videos.

I have been in a funk for I swear 4 years. I have good moments, but my little town is small and not much here. Yes, it is a college town, but still. I started making jewelry to help give myself an identity after having kids and staying home because no daycares had availability. And while I love doing it, it isn't making me any money, so I don't know. But I can relate to going on vacation and then coming back. The same thing happened with me, and it has only been 2 days since I have been home.
Can't wait to see what you find behind that vase, I'm intrigued as well, lol! Btw, I live in GA so I know about those awesome FL thrift shops! I want to take a week and just go on a picking trip! I think you will love being able to go outside the norm and find a few new shops!
I was in Florida on vacation for 9 days visiting my sister. I think we thrifted 7 out of 9 days! We had a blast!! Found some really great deals. I had to mail packages home!! The smaller thrift stores were better than the bug chain ones!
Always love your honesty and although you haven't been feeling it so much lately you are always a breath of fresh air for your followers - every time. Looking forward to the road trips ❤
It's that funk time of year, ready for warmer days. Expanding your horizons sounds like the perfect de-funker. It's a job when it's not fun. The Niche lady always says...And Make it Fun🎉
Hi! I actually loved the fact that you didn't over think what you bought today. I hope it all sells pretty quickly for you. Lots of pretty items. Sorry you have been in a funk. It happens to everyone. I like that you are going to road trip it once a month. It will renew your feeling of adventure to hunt in new places. Looking forward to your first trip ❤️
It's so GREAT that you recognize how you are feeling! We are ALL Human and emotions can overwhelm us. So Do what makes you feel BEST and where you have got to do it! Your a SMART Lady and you got a gift!! EXCITED 😊 🤗 and HAPPY for your travels!!!
I'm pretty sure most of us feel that way occasionally. It's part of life and probably happens to remind us that we're still alive and a few changes and adjustments here and there can make a difference. It's good to do some different things and I think it'll be fun for you. 😊 Thanks Jocelyn, best wishes always!
Anyone who has ever worked or owned a business has days or weeks like that. You have lots of stuff to sell, so staying at the shop and working is not a bad thing. For me, it has been the cold dreary weather, but at least today was sunny, so I bundled up and walked for over an hour and my mood changed immensely. You did get some good stuff. Thanks Jocelyn ..even if you were not in the mood, you got a lot of things to buy and flip for a profit. Take care. Hey, your hair still looks really pretty.❤❤❤❤
It's so easy to get into a funk, but hard to get out of one. I'm glad you decided to add some more places. Change of pace is always good! Look forward to seeing what new places you find!
Also come out to western PA. In Greensburg we have a wonderful antique mall called Yesterday's Rave where I have my booth. Let me know when you're coming (if you do) and I'll show you around that shop and a couple of really great places. ❤
I empathize with these funks. Getting out of your comfort zone once in a while and enjoying life will give you the inspiration and strength to get back to your routine. Always schedule something to look forward to besides work. I enjoy your videos and is a stress reliever for me. Thanks!
I know what it’s like to be in a funk! I get that way very often!! I have arthritis in my knees and use a walker!! I would do anything to be able to walk normal and go shopping!! Love you my friend!! Much love!! 😊🦋💖❤️🌺🥰💙💜🙏🙏🙏💕💕💖💖💖❤️❤️🌺🥰🥰💙💙💕💕💜💜💜
You know we all go through this…I’m told that the best time to go to Goodwill is Monday and Tuesday. You are at the end of winter and waiting for Spring. I normally buy myself a fragrant plant and put near my space in the kitchen. Lavender oil can be sprayed on your pillow. Count your blessings, list on paper. Journal. Sleep late. I’m in a funk also, living in Fl. Doesn’t have a spr ing., it’s just cooler, then hot, then hotter, then hottest!
Don't worry Jocelyn, your having a little after vacation funk. I used to dread coming back from vacation because it's back to the stress of kids school stuff, pet stuff, messy house stuff, work stuff, schedules, etc. I think taking a monthly road trip will help you with the monotony of life for sure. 😊
Sweet pea, it's lovely to see you feeling brighter after a great shop at Goodwill and the exciting prospect of shops further afield 🐱😽 I'm guessing this might be old information, but if you're not sure whether a picture is the original painting or a print, looking through a loupe really helps...if you see a series of dots, it's a print. They're great for checking makers markings/stamps and for any blemishes. I'll go away now. Bless you for sharing your time with us hon'...you always brighten me 👍
Mystery road-trip adventuring !!! I suggest that while you are on the road check out a local, in-person estate sales for some serious treasure hunting. This weekend I did a deep dive at a sale and found a very vintage, cool Hawaiian shirt. Just stuck in the back of a closet. Cost me $3 but it will sell for a major profit! Small towns, old farming communities get me very excited.
Way to go, looks like a fantastic day today. An entire cart load of interesting items. You use such care when you pick your items as if you are buying them for yourself personally, that’s why people are so fascinated by you. You share bits of you life which endears you to your following. Thank you for bringing a bright light to my days.
❤❤❤ It is so nice to hear that someone else loves figurines. I have so many that I can't put them all out at the same time, they are on a rotation. Enjoy your new thrifting adventures! I'm from the Philly suburbs and miss all my old haunts. There used to be a shop connected with the Little Sisters of the Poor in, I think, Bryn Athen that was wonderful. I'm not certain if it's still there. ❤❤❤
Your antique mall shopping gave us quality over quantity, haha! Your plan to travel a bit sounds like a good idea. We all get bored at work, and many of us don't have jobs we love and are passionate about like you. It would be sad if you lost your spark!
Hugs girl. I hear ya. I went somewhere newish I found a glassy-baby. Girl honest you’ve had be on the hunt and I found it in a apple basket covered with used candles in bags. I picked it up and my heart panicked I was like no way no no no way in the box with candle paperwork and I crapped myself. You are my inspiration and thank you for showing me it can happen. Love you!
I would love to see you hit an estate sale or two. Sometimes great glass can be found at them for low prices if you get there early. Yes, break up your routine. And I think the disorder of your huge overwhelming inventory at your shop would also push you into a funk. I wish I lived close enough to help you put up the shelving for your store and start getting product out of the way on those shelves
Jocelyn that’s why I love my job as a tour bus driver, in the past 2 weeks I shopped a Goodwill and Salvation Army in Wilson, NC, an American Thrift in Palm Beach Fl, and Goodwills in Boca Raton, Davie and Hollywood Fl. Had my special cubbie in the bus brimming with goodies. So yes go explore. The Goodwills in Clarion And Brookville Pa are nice. shopped them last summer. The Lewisburg Antique mall is great and there’s a Goidwill next door. Found some nice things there. Happy hunting!
Jocelyn, you can easily repair the Kachina dolls feathers by simply smoothing them out between your fingers. Feathers have little grabbers that hold it together. That's why birds run their beaks through them, to reattach split feathers. They're also easily washed by using warm water with a little dawn dish soap, stroke them with wet fingers keeping them together then rinse. Good luck and be patient with them, they will reattach.
I KNOW funks!! We just took all six kids to Seaside, FL for 8 days, got back late last night, my store was off time away today, and I feel like doing absolutely nada! 😮
❤ Jocelyn you're gonna be alright. You have great support. You really have been so darned busy! Try to slow down and smell the roses as they say! Much love to you!

So good you have such an understanding and supportive family. I just love your videos. You’re so good at what you do and always lift my day.
I do always like to see what you rescue at Goodwill etc and you do so well J!!!!! Thank you again!
Post Vacation Blues are a real thing. It's difficult to return to the routine and the work grind after having days of solid fun and family time.
Like jasmine and prince Ali sing...a whole new world
It's so easy to get into a funk, but hard to get out of one.
In Jeannette, we do have some nice places to thrift around here!
Yes. You can see where Anchor Hocking, Smith glass and Jeannette glass and Lenox were made
I agree that when you have something to look forward to ,as in travel, it helps you get through the ho hum of every day. You rocked it today.
I empathize with these funks. Getting out of your comfort zone once in a while and enjoying life will give you the inspiration and strength to get back to your routine. Always schedule something to look forward to besides work. I enjoy your videos and is a stress reliever for me. Thanks!
Can't wait to see what's under the brown paint!!
It must b that time of year .. need the birds chirping, flowers blooming and lots of sunshine! Just putting my thoughts out to the universe. 💚💙💜
Funk is a natural thing. I agree that new places will invigorate your sourcing genius! ❤️
I go to the same goodwills every other day as well! Went to a big thrift outside of Seattle and it was fun to see new stuff
Funk/depression is real. I have good and bad days. Today is a bad day, watching your videos make me want to get out and shop. Love your channel.
Come to New England Jocelyn! We would love to see you and lots of different antique shops around here. 😊
Road trips are great therapy!
You are so blessed to be in the East Coast, you can hop to different states in a couple hours.
You needed a good shopping trip like that. I’m glad it was fun for you!
I can't wait to see what that brown vase looks like after you scrub the paint off!
I am sooooo glad to see you with a full cart!!!!!
Sweet pea, it's lovely to see you feeling brighter after a great shop at Goodwill and the exciting prospect of shops further afield 🐱😽
I'm guessing this might be old information, but if you're not sure whether a picture is the original painting or a print, looking through a loupe really helps...if you see a series of dots, it's a print.
Everyone needs a break sometimes, you can't just work work work, you need personal time to recharge your spirit.. take care of YOU.
It’s ok to feel that way. I think it’s great you spoke to your folks and traveling outside your area is a great idea. Take care😊
Hugs girl.
Good luck and be patient with them, they will reattach.
its fun when you meet up with other people too like Dagney, Michael, or Kate to share the shopping adventures and joke around with
Love the shop videos do more please. 😊
We have plenty of thrift and antique shops across the way in Lambertville and New hope New Jersey and would love to see you!
I have a great Airbnb in Vermont. Much to see and lots of shopping. Not far away!
