I bought one of these as my first helicopter. I would say that it is a beginner helicopter, with a big catch. If you've never flown a four-six channel helicopter I'd actually recommend the WL toys v911. Is ludicrously dirt cheap, far more durable, has two batteries out of the box and has all of the same controls in principle, but it's fixed pitch and has a flybar which makes it extremely docile. It's excellent indoors (but outdoors it struggles in even 5mph wind, seriously any higher than that and translational lift will take this thing up and away and you won't have enough power to keep it from being blown away) and you'll get used to the feel of how the controls work. I've spent many years on model boats so the control layout threw me and the K110 was so fast even in 6g mode I was hopelessly out of control. A few flights on the 911 though and you'll probably be OK with the 110 on gyro mode. Going out of 6g mode is going to be outrageously hard and you'll probably have to look up guides online and buy a good simulator to help you learn; it responds completely differently. I actually prefer it now though because the pitch and roll angles of the aircraft aren't locked, so if you get caught by a strong gust or look like you might hit something you can literally put the helicopter on its' side to put every scrap of thrust into changing direction which is really nice. I've only flown the 110 for maybe a couple of hours now with another dozen or so in a simulator (unfortunately mainly flying the wrong kind of helicopter so it wasn't that useful) and I can complete simple circuits most of the time without crashing but I still have a very long way to go before even thinking about aerobatics!
1) This is by no means a beginner heli unless the beginner has an understanding that this is a very hard activity to enter into entirely and has the patience to see it through. 2) This is NOT an indoor heli. 110 class is small enough to physically fly indoors, but without expert level control you are only going to scratch the shit out of everything in a room. Take it outside unless you have a large gym, or a room where you don't care about scratches on basically every wall and surface. Even if you have a room where that is the case, outside over grass is still going to be better because a grass unplanned landing is always better than a concrete or hardwood one. Generally speaking, only a Blade Nano CPX/S/S2 should ever be considered "indoors." Anything even slightly bigger and driven by brushless motors is too powerful for indoors. Even a Blade Nano will scratch up surfaces.
Great flight man! I myself have been into RC helicopters for a few years and have flown alot with the Blades Minis. This looks to be a very good competitor to the Blade ones. Great video man!
Automatic throw the brush tail away and put the brushless on...after I did that it was a good helicopter..it flew scale good with the back brush..but needs the brushless for 3d
I have one of these and it's the best CP heli to learn on. Super durable plus 6G stability. +Kevin Talbot you should jump over it with an RC car while it's hovering inverted 8-)
Kevin Talbot ya i was in the chat but it was going a lil crazy from all the people so didn’t know if u seen i made it, just bashed the rustler 4x4 this morning n uploaded a new video on it
I recieved my awaited xk k110 rc helicopter today and it just spins in circles, so i went online and found out how to calibrate the gyroscopes and it helped a little so i tried trimming the rotationand the boom fell out, I put it back in and its worse. never took it more than 3 ft off the ground. people that have reviewed this say its realy tuff and can handle some crashes, mine couldnt handle a soft landing. So who do i send this thing back to?
Thanks guys. I think I'll get a few of these wltoys before getting any blade helicopters. Just to make sure I'm good at flying before spending too much money.
What's the most durable 3d micro helicoptor? I have a trex 450 pro that I'm scared to fly after a crash. I want something to practice on that can take crashes. Is affordable and readily available replacements parts. Sounds like this might be a good one.
If you've flown a heli with that control layout, yes. If not, I'd go for a V911 with the flybar, even in 6g mode I found the k110 was too fast to stay in control while I figured the 'feel' of the controls out. My experience of the 110 other than the initial couple of flights where I couldn't control it at all have been really good. I've been going down the traditional 'learn to fly helicopters' route without the 6g mode and although I had to learn everything from scratch again it's been a blast and obviously you can take this all the way to complex 3D. I'd recommend a lot of spare blades and main gears though, if you land on gravel you'll 100% total a blade and the gears tend to fracture after crashing a few times (which probably saves the much more expensive/harder to replace components).
@@Parabueto thanks for the reply! ill look into the models you named. i do have a bit more expirience flying drones. also in tight spaces so the speed of the heli is not the ting thad scares me the most haha thanks!
@@rcalert1731 Sounds like you'll probably be OK with the 110 then, but obviously flying without 6g is nothing like flying a drone, don't make the mistake of turning off the gyros in midair unless you know what you're doing (he says, having crashed loads doing it, although I can switch in midair now after a LOT of practice out of 6g mode). The v911 is absolutely cheap as chips though and I still find it fun to buzz around the living room or kitchen and try spot landings all over the place.
@@Parabueto thads what i did also with a smal helli a few years back. in the house flying over and under things and landing on a paper sheet ore something ^^

V911 is one of the most robust and friendly helicopters there is, but I did manage to knock the pinion gear on the motor loose somehow on mine which obviously stopped it flying (did the same thing on the 110 too as it happens). Your best bet is to ask in a dedicated helicopter forum, such as in rc groups.
I had a modelart 3.5 channel helicopter had it for 2 years but was not able to fly it outside because of the wind One day just pushed the throttle all the way up inside the house and wrecked it.😂😢
Lmao..dude you fly better upside down for some reason. haha. Oh, okay, I watched the rest of the video and I can tell you flew rc planes before this heli. I can tell by your style when making turns inverted in forward flight. Let me know if im right about you flying rc planes before your first drone.

Can you bind one with a dx6i
This will be interesting to see. This helicopter sure looks like it will be pretty 3D capable. Can`t wait!

Hey kevin, i think you should look into a 1/16 e revo. I have a lot of rc cars and it is still my favorite. You can get the thing to fly!
It goes super fast
@Harry Askin They can, like any other rc, be upgraded to do over 100 mph.
Can you review the redcat shockwave? 1/10 4wd nitro buggy under $200. Nice flying!
maybe one day

Yes, like driving in the left seat and on the right side of the road flying in mode 2 is the only way to go. Haha.
that little heli is highly regarded on the RCG forums. I would probably get one but I'm already flying bigger helis
Yay live stream.
Nice fly. how do I setup the transmitter kx6 to another helicopter (The transmitter's original helicopter was lost in the bushes) ?
So 3d up down and upside down right? 1d just up then??
Just noticed the arrma on the work bench new video on it soon ??? Also great video

Now you got to put a fpv camera on your heli
That's cool! You can crash it bad like 60 times and repair it for the cost of busting up a t rex 700 just once. Batteries are cheap too!!!
I crashed it 10 times already with no damage!
I think the rear blade only pushes one direction
I swear this channel makes feel like posting my own hobby videos and share with the Rc community
What are you waiting for then?
Hello Kev! Are you still going to do anymore with your W/L cross country? Shock oil, skate park, that kind of stuff?
yep more vids soon
For 90 bucks thats actually pretty impressive
im genuinely impressed its so stable and responsive
Is it good for begginer?
Brother, which helicopter 🚁 have auto stability in wind 💨..?
And easy control
On my 3rd one & all, after crashes are still flying beautiful. A powerful lil beast. Good flight, dude. 👍
Will you please look into making a long travel rc buggy. With some huge shocks to take those landings you dish
My rustler goes 70mph now
I have a blade helicopter but I am horrible at flying lol
What model?!
Is it suitable for a beginner who is used to hovering 4-channel heli?
yes although crashing may break it
Hey kev you should get a wpl truck
