Hey guys! Enjoy the new episode! Also, stay tuned for a new scam-buster next week (Sep 1) and mark your calendars for Sep 16 at 6 PM CDT! It's the Computer Clan's 15th birthday, so I'm hosting a special stream! See you there. 🥳
Hey thanks for the shoutout! Of course I like what I see, who doesn't love a cheapo phone with WELCOME on boot up. You are lucky you didn't have to face the horrors of the PIPI phone lol :) Keep up the great work Ken, you mad lad!
I have bought one of these year ago called "spiphone". My reason were that I needed a phone to take with me to a music festival in Spain and I didn't want to lose or break my iPhone and I needed something with 2 sim card slots, google maps and google translate because I don't speak that much Spanish. It served its purpose.
I am more than surprised and glad at the same time that you know Smoorez. He goes very deep with these and both of you talk and describe a lot of what you do, which for a blind person is more than awesome.
I've seen teardown videos of this phone. It actually only has one camera on the back. The rest of those are fake. I'm actually surprised you got that good of pictures out of that phone.
BTW, China-phones (even those that are not knock-offs) regularly give the memory size as "internal flash+supported SD" and leave out the RAM completely.
You should definitely look at more knockoff tech! There's plenty of people already doing it but I think me and many others would love to see your spin on it
Lovely BSOD message. Yes, I did pause to read it. Reminds me of the time I made a click-dummy prototype in Keynote, and when I realized I didn’t want to finish one of the features, I linked it to a fake BSOD slide. 😆
A cool way to discover if a screen is oled, take a old broken lcd display, remove the plastic film on the screen and with the right angle you will be able to black out the other lcd screens with it. Oled will still be visible.
How does that actually work then? I accidentally pulled some of the film off an LCD monitor thinking it was some protective packaging, then realised the image underneath the peeled section just went a plain white. So clearly the film acts as some kind of filter. Luckily I only peeled about 2" before realising and putting it back as best I could, and it wasn't a high end expensive monitor anyway. Would love an OLED for my main PC monitor, especially when I can experience how lovely they look every day on my phone, but the prices are way out of my budget.
Reminder to anyone unfamiliar... Apple doesn't even advertise the iPhone's RAM. They expect apps either run or not ... regardless of the model you buy - and multitasking is handled by suspending via the OS.
Android works more or less the same way, with the obvious exception of demanding games though those more often fail because the GPU isn't good enough. RAM specs on different brands and models are mostly to give an idea of how many apps you can switch between before they start reloading when you switch back.
It's interesting how the iPhone-Andriod hybrid ripoff is between my phone (Galaxy S8- Android version 9) and my tablet (Galaxy TabA- Android version 11) only to discover it's far behind both of them by at least a decade 😂
Everyone else: You watch Smoorez? Me: Hold up... You bought one of Ghost Raptor's season 1 wheelguards and that's just something casually mentioned here?
Glad you called out to the naysayers about your head. Nothing to do with you! You are who what you have been born with. Love your channel. Keep going 😀
I REALLY wish we'd get an alternative to Android and iOS again. We NEED something more private, more user-focused... ANYTHING to make them compete with more than just each other again.
I could imagine a mugger staking out victims. Waits for someone to pull out an expensive phone. Then runs up steals it and then realizes it's a really crummy knock off.
Heck yeah! I have been watching smoorez and Hugh Jeffries for a long time. Love these welcome devices. As long as you take it for what it is... A $70 1gb ram 8gb rom mediatek soc phone. its not bad. Keep up the great content.
Those phones have an app that can change the reported specs to whatever you choose. In reality, all the fake welcome phones are the same chipset, 1gb of ram and 8gb of storage
"12 gigs of ram!" No... no... I'm pretty sure that's just 12 ram. Might be gigs, might be megs. Might be the smallest chips they could get. But there are 12 of them!
knock off mouses and other kinds of peripherals would be an interesting topic to cover. I have seen logitech and other brands on the wild, so they do exist.
I love how you keep reaching for a second tap of things on the screen, only to be interupted by the slow delayed animation of the response from the tap a second prior 🤣 man were spoiled with how fast phones are nowadays.
Honestly this thing is better than I expected, I was expecting some awful homemade embedded OS. I wonder if it's just 'recycled' hardware from some much older android phone, shoved into a new case.
I kind of miss those days in the early '10's (or even 2008-2009) when that's actually what you got on iPhone knockoffs as that was before Android _really_ took off in the market and became cheap to implement. Ashens did a bunch of reviews on those things back in the day and the software was truly... something.
"Like usually phones don't come shipped with screen protectors on it" the last 10 phones i've bought like Motorola, Oneplus and Samsung, all had a screen protector, the Oneplus and Motorola phones even came with "free" cases (you pay for everything in the box so it's not really a free case, it's more like a included case)
Idk why they faked Android version android 11 and 10 can be optimalized to 2gb ram but they give only 1gb. I'm using modded android 11 on Redmi 4a with 2gb ram
2:00 iPhone: IS SHE PRETTIER THAN ME? Ken: no- iPhone: LAIR! iPhone: I knew this would happen I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN *iPhone still screaming at you **5:43*
The 24 million camera actually refers to the camera having 24 megapixels. For some reason Google Translate sometimes displays 24 million instead of 24 megapixels.
These days you can get a legitimately good phone for 200 or 300. You can also get an older iPhone like 6 or 7 refurbished for under $200. I have an iPhone 13. You can’t beat the fastness of the processing or the battery life on it. As these phones get better, the older models get cheaper so in a few years you can get an iPhone 11 or 12 a lot cheaper. From iPhone 10 on, you can tell a huge difference in processing speed and battery life
So a good test of lens and camera is a sheet of penny stamps. That will give you lots of small repeating details and straight lines across the entire field of view
That's some really low effort one, they didn't even change the icons and general system skin to look at least somewhat like an iphone. And there have been fakes that actually swap the android Easter egg to whatever newer version they are pretending to be.

See you there!
Ok, see you there
There is Rubik's cube technology on that thing!
Smoores also my favorite
I'm waxing nostalgic for old iphone bootlegs. Remember how early iphone knockoffs came with a stylus cause touch controls weren't quite there yet?
Hey thanks for the shoutout!
Of course I like what I see, who doesn't love a cheapo phone with WELCOME on boot up.
You are lucky you didn't have to face the horrors of the PIPI phone lol :)
Keep up the great work Ken, you mad lad!
When i see the welcome screen i think about smoorez first cause i like ur knock off busters
And the PCOC?
the AINOL???
it’s too early in the morning for me to think of anything clever, hey smoorez XD
Holy fudge that’s a lot of crap phone videos, and rather long… where should I even begin? 🤯
@@whateveriam12 and the Susan M8?
I love smoorez and hugh Jeffries so it was nice to see them recognized.
I agree, they deserve recognition.
I think you meant "shout out".
i agree
Was like wait what why call out Hugh. He is awesome
Same here
Smoorez is great!
The fact that whoever designed the packaging probably thought HD means High Digital made my day
XD
I remember years ago I once had an iPhone knockoff called the Scyphone. It was absolutely laughable but did make for a good jewellery mallet🤣
I have bought one of these year ago called "spiphone". My reason were that I needed a phone to take with me to a music festival in Spain and I didn't want to lose or break my iPhone and I needed something with 2 sim card slots, google maps and google translate because I don't speak that much Spanish. This makes me even more happy with my 100$ Moto GFast. And all of my cameras are real lol. Unlocked bootloader too.
I mean, for a hundred bucks, even the fact it runs UA-cam without skipping frames makes it already compelling lol. Seems the APU is actually usable.
Nah you can get significantly better deals
I am more than surprised and glad at the same time that you know Smoorez. He goes very deep with these and both of you talk and describe a lot of what you do, which for a blind person is more than awesome.
I thought I was the only blind fan of the computer clan, but I guess not
For this money you could buy a 6S that has a fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, no notch, and iOS 15 (maybe even 16)
Nah 15
They didn’t support it in 16
Or you could buy a used android phone
@@jakethesnake05 and get a much worse experience?
No thanks
Still using a 6s on iOS 15 - only complaint is the battery is starting to go but otherwise it's decent
@@Juanguar for this you could buy a used android flagship from 2020 that would have hardware miles ahead of a 6S. Only thing you would _lose_ is iOS.
Loved the shoutout to Smoorz. He’s one of my favorites
I'm genuinely shocked this thing has more then 8 gigs of storage
i mean storage is cheap nowadays, 64gb is nothing etc

Ken: *smells* like an iPhone
Me: This man knows his stuff!
I own a repair shop in Birmingham , AL and get at least 2 customers a year bring these to me thinking they bought an iPhone
And they get to your place on their own, with no accompanying caregiver? 🤔
9:54 The MediaTek MTK6889 is an 8-core, so they're even lying about that!
MediaTek MTK6889 is also probably a lie, it appears to be remotely new and not the cheapest one
You should definitely look at more knockoff tech! There's plenty of people already doing it but I think me and many others would love to see your spin on it
omg you're a SMOOREZ fan! this makes me even happier that i subscribed!

It's certainly an 'interesting' device. I'm surprised how well the cameras work.
A cool way to discover if a screen is oled, take a old broken lcd display, remove the plastic film on the screen and with the right angle you will be able to black out the other lcd screens with it. Oled will still be visible.

I say "smells like an iPhone" every time my husband leaves the toilet without turning on the extractor or opening the window.
I say "smells like a fandroid" every time I get sprayed by a skunk
The LG V30 is a good deal for that price if anyone's looking, unofficially has A12
No bootloops? I mean its an LG
Huh? No, it's actively developed for
The batteries are a bit old now since it launched with A7 but that's about it
Just do not get a H932, they can't cross flash
My jaw dropped when you showed the Ghost Raptor piece, never would have guessed you had something like that

what separates this from being garbage and the best gadget ever is just 15 years.
I'm pretty sure when they say 24 million cameras what they mean is 24 megapixels
This is pretty sad, considering you can buy a Samsung Galaxy A10e from WalMart that runs Android 11, has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for about $60.
Glad you called out to the naysayers about your head.
Nothing to do with you! You are who what you have been born with.

So glad you gave smoorez a shout out 😁
I loooove videos like this. I love buying crap vicariously through UA-camrs
A Battlebots reference in a Krazy Ken video? SWEET!!!
I REALLY wish we'd get an alternative to Android and iOS again. We NEED something more private, more user-focused... ANYTHING to make them compete with more than just each other again.
I think I’ve still got a Windows phone in a drawer somewhere.
I’d be more worried about how long it takes to catch fire when being charged!
Good point.
Oh no, it's a Welcome device!
I could imagine a mugger staking out victims. Waits for someone to pull out an expensive phone. Then runs up steals it and then realizes it's a really crummy knock off.
Always a good sign when it starts up with an unbranded "WELCOME"
16:10 getting some DankPods vibes there.
Kinda wanted to see inside that one.
Great vid, as usual!

Already said on Twitter, but for me, the back of these always give away if these are fakes or not.
Passionfruit is going to bring lawyers to your house due to name you gave to phone (iPhony)

Happy birthday in advance man !! I'm hype for the next scam busting episode !!!
I saw this on the CC Discord, immediately knew this video was gonna be a banger!
"12 gigs of ram!" No... no... I'm pretty sure that's just 12 ram. Might be gigs, might be megs. Might be the smallest chips they could get. But there are 12 of them!
12 83MB chips to make a full gig!
5:14 Bro really went Patrick Bateman….
You gotta love how the phone has a quadcopter camera
So that phone is never getting OS updates…ever…even security ones.
Eeeeeewwwww
knock off mouses and other kinds of peripherals would be an interesting topic to cover.
I have seen logitech and other brands on the wild, so they do exist.
I don't understand the hype about getting the latest iphone. I can't see the differences.

I am Really loving these vid's thank you Computer Clan (Ken) for some awesome content keep it real boys!..
Imagine all the spyware and backdoors that phone has 😂
Oh sh*t, a piece of Ghost Raptor, noice!
I had decently high hopes for them last season, but them getting dissected was fun too xD
Lets have a little reminder of how much the Over inflated price of the I Phone is ?, you get what you pay for thats no surprize
I was thinking Smoorez too! I never tire of finding fun videos of knockoff phones and other tech, no matter who has it :D
I just realized theres an easter egg withing the bsod on kens intro...
I just subbed, watched your $5000 drone scam video loved it so much went to your channel, and guess what you make some great content.
Krazy Ken has never used android in his life
iPhony..? So this a Passionfruit ™®© phone
Ah yes. The Welcome Phone Smoorez and Hugh Jefferies
Even Android 10 would be a bit out of date as my Google Pixel 3a says it's Android 12 but Android 6 is half that!
yeah I also have high electronics, my old Hi-Fi stereo has been high since the 80s.

Ken you've got to stop "praising" these products in the intro, or the advertisers will use those clips in their ads to make them seem better lmao
Great Job Ken As they Say often imitated never duplicated very true in this case
