Sceez, this is a band you can dive deep in to. Go for it. Their catalogue is big, one of my favorites is their cover of Thin line between love and hate. Good one here.
Chrissie Hynde, wore that red leather jacket, a few years before M' Jackson did!!! 1979, before 1982 -you are young, and won't know that. I'm 55 years now, and a fan of The Pretenders back then, saw them "live" etc.
I bought this album when it first came out and played it to death. This album was their first and their best. I also like Privat Life. Her vocals in Private Life are amazing and the Guitar solo rocks. I also like her rendition of Thin Line Between Love and Hate also like the original from The Persuaders. She made this classic with more class. Her vocals are tight!!!
For whatever my opinion's worth: Chrissie Hynde is one of the Great Rock Love Song Writers. She's got a rawness, powerful attitude, plus sentimental vulnerability all intertwined. Hard to think of reaction-worthy heavy-hitters though, but tracks like "Back on the Chain Gang", "Kid", "Tattooed Love Boys", "Up the Neck", "Talk of the Town", "Message of Love", "Show Me" might be some fan favorites.
