I love the way they slowly pan the camera from left to right & reveal those big cannons. And the sunset scene after that is just magnificent

So much genius in this movie: casting, staging, and just plain letting the desert, mountains, sea, and sun speak for themselves. An absolute masterpiece.

Liked seeing the detail of clothes drying from a line secured to the huge artillery piece. So practical and realistic.

The conversation between Lawrence and Ali from 5:03 to 5:28 is one of the most significant moments in the film…and contains some of its best acting. They’re discussing one thing aloud, but their eyes are having an entirely more intimate conversation. It’s moments like this that earned O’Toole and Sharif their Oscar nominations. Frankly, they should’ve won.

    That’s not a siege. That’s an assault.

Yes, that’s how Arabic is written. And I think that's also meant to indicate that the characters in-universe are actually speaking to each other in Arabic, but the actors speak in English for the sake of the audience. The real Lawrence was fluent in Arabic.

Most everyone is on horseback, but O'Toole rides a camel. No mean feat. Check out interviews with him about how difficult this was, about Omar Sharif and O'Toole taking on this challenge.

Wonderful conquest. It was sweet to see the Turks put to shame. Served them right for the six centuries of tyranny they inflicted on their subjects.

O'Toole tells that he and Sharif (and crew) were concerned about men falling off camels and under horses' hooves during the charge. So they tied themselves into their camels' saddles---and sure enough, Sharif fell off his, so that at the end of the scene he was hanging upside-down under his camel's belly.
