After all these years still totally into playing this tune, ripping into the guitar, the other musicians wonderfully adding their instruments into the mix, and with full emotion in Gray's voice, a stunning performance of this song. Attended DG's White Ladder 20th Anniversary Tour gig here in Perth, Western Australia last night. What a gig. Outdoor venue and everyone was freezing, but no one cared.......... Whole crowd singing along to this tune.
This song in particular helped me so much during a painful break-up. Maybe not as intended, but the "if you want it" line was a way to regain a sense of myself, my dignity outside of purgatory, or David Gray's 'Babylon'. Keep it together folks.

What A Show! A true Showman. 2 hours and 45 minutes of great music and storytelling! The story of his Dad and David Bowie was very moving!
