Don't believe you have any chance to win the fight versus Pierre Brunet. You would lose it like the ant under my foot sole. He's a great Sensei who has learnt with Sensei KASE. He's been the teacher of many French and European champions of Karate. Maybe he'll also teach you to be modest. Come to visit him in Besançon France.
If you can not see a practical application of each of those techniques that means you either are not a seasoned Karate-Ka or you are a sports Karate enthusiast only. What I will also add is that these Techniques may not be in your selection for combat but they are a part of Kata applications. A Kata provides a wealth of tools to take and apply to many Self Defense/ Combat situations.
@@sandersd8945 You do understand that there is no bunkai for any kata that is set in stone, right? So most bunkai, if not all, are interpretations made up by whatever practioner is deciphering it. That being said, any Karateka with enough practical fighting experience has a good idea of what prearranged technique/drill is realistic or not. For example, the third set was the most unrealistic, impractical response to a jodan ok-tsuki, chudan mae-geri, jodan tsuki combination. NOBODY ATTACKS WITH OI TSUKI IN REAL LIFE. Even if someone did, that first punch+mae geri combo would come in quick succession and the attacker wouldn't be standing there just waiting for you to counter! Here's a hint: if you can't use in jiyu-kumite, then it won't effing work. Ask Kyoto Machida, ask Mama Tatsuya.
@@sandersd8945 These interpretations are this teacher's own, or something he learned from an old JKA video. Now, being a JKA practioner myself, and having also studied Matsubayashi Shorin ryu, I was specifically taught that omote and ura bunkai are simple interpretations made by previous teachers and that are mostly personal and not practical. Its up to you to make them work. You don't like it, you change it.
No one would ever attack you with a lunge punch.
Muito bom!
All that RIGIDITY...You guys need to loosen up! And keep those hands
in front of you--- BOTH of them!

@@pilouboy4736 I'm sure he's good, but why is he defending against lunge punches? No one would ever attack like that.

Only one technique was practical/useful. Chudan teisho uke + jodan teisho uchi. The rest are utter garbage.
