We have a cat that was feral when it came to our house. He was still a little kitten. My husband said he’s (the cat) not staying,but I had him neutered just so he wouldn’t fight our other cats. It’s been a year and a half,Black kitty is still here. He has eliminated all the frogs from our goldfish pond, caught a mole, and a few goldfish. He’s fed every day but the hunting instinct has not left him. He ask to be petted but brings gifts mostly half eaten. Guess he’s sharing with us.
I'm not surprised, because dogs are more people pleasing than cats are, but they don't have to be, people should be the animal pleasing ones, do whatever it takes to make their pets lives more happy and fulfilled, because they deserve it just by being themselves, but also by having to put up with us.
Ahhhh...pooey on domestication theories...most likely scenario thousands of years ago was in the middle of the night a cat just wandered into some poor dudes hut, made itself comfortable, disappeared a couple of days later, only to return days later, looking like it'd been partying non stop for two or three days, and brought a friend with it...and poof...pretty soon the furry guys were moving in everywhere...no peasant, lord, or pharaoh's home was safe...😁
I have had cats for over 20 years, all different personalities, but they own you, and it is all about pleasing them, i wouldnt have it any other way.😺😺

A cat is about the size of a small dog so it fits in the house, but much more intelligent, and bond to human owners. So if anything the increasing coat variation would have meant a reduction in tabby pattern, as any other pattern would have been relatively at the expense of the natural coat pattern.

They don't like that. They don't like bells around their necks. Anything covering them (clothes) will mess up their rather. Same goes for cutting their whiskers. You could get them killed. If you have your cat decided it is the equivalent of cutting your finger downtown the first joint. The puffy little worms that come in packing boxes Will kill a cat. Good information, except the evolutionary part. My grandparents, (gone now😢) told us how they had SO many cats on the ships coming from Poland 🇵🇱 to the US. How they’ve kept the rats from eating they’re stored food for the journey. Such beautiful creatures I love my two!
A killing of a cat should be punishable by death on the whole planet/ all around the world, not just certain places, killings of all animals aside from non pet rats should be punishable by death everywhere.

The idea that Cats spread from Egypt to Europe isn't evidenced at all, it's simply still trying to perpetuate the theory that cats came from Egypt rather than Anatolia. Cats spread into Europe with the migrations of Early European Farmers. Cats were already respected by the Romans before they got to Egypt, so why would they need these Egyptian ones? It makes no sense at all, that's simply a tie over from the old theory.

There is much more going on in those little heads we just can't fathom because their minds are not wired for speech, but you can often sense it and I dont think that is either projection or imagination. I think the world might have some surprises ahead as we learn more about their little brains which may house more than little minds.
Watching this with my Leopard Cat/Egyptian Mau hybrid purring away in my lap. I’m so pleased that the Leopard Cat was revisited for hybridization, even if it did take a few thousand years. 😊
