- The head of Reform UK, Nigel Farage, was asked about advice he claims he was given by the Speaker of the House of Commons' office over whether he should do surgeries in Clacton. The MP said at the time in the interview he was adviced not to, but that was untrue and here he outs himself as a liar?

The negotiations left a bad taste, the costs for everyone have been enormous and to try reversing and applying to re-join would be unlikely to suceed. What he did say in response to the question was, 'the Speaker's office is always right'. Which is a sarcastic open-ended answer. Open to interpretation by those who wish to believe him. They lie and manipulate endlessly, but none of it makes a single bit of difference to their supporters. Maybe 1% of them can even tell you anything Farage voted on in his 21 years as an MEP that benefitted them at all.
I don't think that's what's happening here at all. The way he said it was accusing the Speaker's Office of lying. It's a subtle trick he uses often - he says what he's "supposed" to say, but he makes that small smile to give the impression of "you know I mean the opposite of what I just said". Either way, it's despicable.
