as a person who is ace, this is how I wished my past partners would've treated me, showing I had no interest in sex. it's not that I never loved them, its more I never had that intention with them. It just made me feel horrible that I couldn't give them something they wanted or be what they saw of me, which wasn't always perfect or what they expected. I've stepped up more in my boundaries, and I'm lucky now I have someone who respects that even being an ace person themselves.
