Your the best Audio store in Canada. You provide great insightful videos that educate us. Your passion for Audio shows as well and you have a lot of knowledge. Though I live in the States your videos helped me choose the McIntosh MC152 amp over Parasound and PS Audio. And I love the MC152. I will steer anyone I speak to who live in Canada to buy Audio at your store
Mcintosh on my mind again.... I've tried alot of the other brands, but they are temporary in my system until I get back... Lovely pieces there Adrian and well explained.
I dig the brushed finish on the case tops, nice departure from the typical flat black paint. Plus it's got the billet Mac handles frontside...OMG. Vilip is so wrong on that count. I'm sure it also sounds the part as well.
Amazing preamp 👌 I also love the handles 🤩 … but the Macintosh C12000 ins’t the only one using dual-design topology, the fabulous Pathos InControl MkII is another preamp using a dual-design ( tube / solid-state ).
Looking at some websites where the preamp is described, it does not appear to me that the Pathos InControl MkII can operate in either tube OR solid state mode. It apparently uses both tubes and solid state components in a hybrid mode design. The McIntosh C12000 has separate circuits that allow it to operate in tube mode OR 100% solid state mode, but not both in the same signal output path (unless you make use of the separate outputs going to two different amp inputs or two different amps).
I wonder how much of the price goes into the features and how much for sound quality. There is stiff competition in the $10-20k USD range from the likes of Audio Research and BAT (and smaller brands). It's hard to do an apples to apples comparison, depending on whether the model in question has a built in DAC or phono stage, and especially since and external source has the additional expense of cables, power cord, etc. My guess is that Mac customers at this level won't bother with any other brand, and aren't price sensitive.
If you consider an integrated amp, then a single box will do the job. If you want separates and all you care about is digital reproduction, you'll be looking at a Power conditioner, Streamer, DAC, Pre amp, and ideally two Power amps. I don't think Mcintosh makes separate DACs though. And hey, you can also get dumb boxes that only tell the time or say Mcintosh if you really want to flex those thick wallet muscles.
I purchased this 3 weeks ago & it cost me my first born child & my lawn tractor... I was ok with that. These don’t talk back, nor do they need constant maintenance, it was a win win situation for me! Your dealer might have a different pricing scale depending upon where you live!
Audio Excellence videos always make my day. I am looking forward to the test.
Unpacking McIntosh gear is like a kid unwrapping presents on Christmas morning. Exactly how I felt when I unpacked all my Mc gear.
Awesome! Just picked up my C1200 looking forward to playing with it.

nice video Adrian , are you gonna review McIntosh’s MA9000 integrated amplifier ?(not a lot review on UA-cam)
Seems there is no DAC included. What do you recommend to use?
Interesting Pre-amp, but I am confused, so it is tube and solid state? So is it a hybrid? Is the controller solid state and the pre-amp section tube?
Thumbs up on the handles!
Adrian what is the cost of the C12000 line stage bro.
Are those the Acora Acoustics Bookshelf in the background? .. Are you going to be taking them on as a dealer?

Not being price sensitive is the life.
Like another poster asked, what is the bookshelf speakers in the video? Curious to know. Thanks.
Hi Woody, these are the Acora Acoustics SRB loudspeakers.
@@AudioExcellenceCanada which is your favorite speaker?

I believe Mac announced it at 16K USD total for both modules. Gulp, that's a pretty spicy price.
@@daslaundrynazi yeah, you could go the cash route as well!
@@darkroom8317 Did not know there was a trade up option. I currently have a sulky teenager with a good set of teeth. Decisions, decisions...
