Spot on George, that gadget holds the rod at your belt when tying on flies etc. Very nice kit. As one famous American fly fisherman says "Expensive fly rod is only an overpriced pointing tool"
Max catch are good quality for small money I bought the sky high 8’4 3 weight trout rod this summer and I absolutely love it .I’ll never again buy these so call big brand fly rods best of luck with the new pike set up George
I’ve used and caught a lot of fish with Maxcatch rods and reels. Everything from trout in Pennsylvania to saltwater fish in Florida. They are quite reasonable although they’ve gotten a little more expensive now that they’ve gotten a little more popular but I like them and will continue to use them. Looking forward to your thoughts after you put your new stuff to work.
Hi George I have been using maxcatch rods ,reels and lines for a good few years now for trout it's great quality for the price would be great to see a video of how it performs on the pike as I'm thinking of getting into fly fishing for pike thanks for the video and tight lines.
Hi George, I've been using Maxcatch gear for a couple of years, have about 8 or 9 different rods including the salt pro which i also use for pike fishing tho I have the 8wt at the moment and a friend has my 9wt for the last 12 months ish! The green plastic yoke is a belt rod holder, shove it onto the belt and throw the rod into it while your handling the fish (keeps grit and crap out of the reel) The gear might be cheap but it's as good as many more expensive brands! The fly line holder makes it easier to load the reel without getting all tangled and knotted up
Nice one George. I've been using Maxcatch 10 and 11 weight rods for 10 years or more, never failed me on a fish. Not tried their reels yet. Love the show. Cheers
Be good to see how you get on fishing with it George, I'm sure it'll be grand. Be a good option for the bass too buddy, ye never tried that on your coasltine?.
Guideline and Vision both make good fly rods, I have the 9wt 9ft "Big Daddy" Vision Pike rod and 9-10wt Vision Rula reel. Are you going to do a Pike fly fishing video with the Maxcatch gear?
