0:36 all of them were middle aged men crying. Most likely they were the teenage soldiers in world war 1. They sacrificed their youth and watch their friends die just to see their country fall in a month 2 decades later
Good point
It's about time someone make a thoughtful comment. UA-cam comments sections have become a jokefest...no matter the topic.
Why were they applauding though?
Damn
I just found out that the crying men were not in Paris observing the Nazis arrival - which I assumed was the case for years - but they were watching the departure of soldiers of the Free French Army in I think Marseilles. It always confused me because the footage is always juxtaposed with the German army marching into Paris.

His countries fate would later be worse than he could have ever imagined. His thoughts of what Germany had coming for them, is nothing compared to what is happening to France right now. Western Europeans are so scared of their history, that they have to literally give up their culture to show that "their not racist".

The thing is, Hitler never wanted war with France. In August 1939, Hitler told the French president that the German people had no quarrel with the French. He even accepted the Franco-German border and did not claim Alsace-Lorraine, where the majority was German, for the German Empire. But no, France would have to give Poland a duty of assistance. Hitler asked France several times in August 1939 during the "negotiations" between Germany and Poland, in which Poland was not really interested in being even in the same room with the Germans, to stay out of it.
