Put trime (congrats) in the top of the bottom third of a thick phone book and pound it with an 8lb sledge hammer.
Hit right over the coin.
Old owners of coin shop showed me and it works. Test on other thin bent coins or metal to learn impact force.
Now about the phone book... good luck finding one.
143DREWID Yeah man I don’t remember last time I saw one! That’s ok, just get a Sears catalog. Solves the problem
Once again, Oregon Trail Treasure! Congratulations, those great finds cause us all to shake. Trime is still on my bucket list.
Thanks! I never could have imagined I would find a trime out here. It's amazing the early history that you can access at these trail spots.
That was a fun site to hunt! Thanks again Zach! Nice work on that trime too that is an awesome find! 👊👊
Thanks Ben! Looking forward to the next time we can go out there or maybe get on some other stops!

Hi Zach, Andy Lamm from NC again. ALWAYS love your Videos. Awesome fines on the trail. Keep bringing the Videos. And yes, you've convinced me to get the Equinox.
Thanks Andy! Glad to hear you're convinced on the equinox! As much as I loved the Etrac, the Nox just seems to do a lot better especially on relics, and its a lot lighter of a machine.
I would die to hunt a place like that. Congratulations guys. That is awesome you guys find some really really nice stuff keep up the good work and thank you for bringing this along.Have a wonderful week
Congrats Zach! Awesome hunt!I have never heard of a trime before. God bless!
Thanks so much!! I knew of them but never thought I would find one! HH and God bless
Nice finds on the coins, buttons & bullets ! I have a trime ( didn't know that's what you call them) . I can see everything on mine, except for the date , and it has a slight bend in it. I handle with care !! Thanks for posting this. I'm a new subscriber, great videos on the or.trail !!
Nice jobs boys, that trime is a hard find, I’ve only dug 2 and one was wiped, awesome work
Thanks man! I feel like I’ve found one of the pinnacles of silver coins lol
Nice work! Cant beat that kind hunting, need to show the relics and iron!
You guys are killing that Nebraska field...congrats on the fatty(I have 2 59's) and trime(still on my list)!
Thanks Marty! The indian was awesome but I still can’t believe I dug a trime!
Nice finds guys one that eludes me is the trime!
Down South Detecting just found a old elementary school that’s closed down hitting it tomorrow
Your hands weren't shaking a little were they lol... Congrats I think my fingers would have went numb
I like the old music better but anyways always lovely videos ALWAYS KEEP IT UP!
Thanks Arnold! Don't worry there will always be more saloon music in my videos lol, just switched it up a bit this time.
Love the vids. What happened to the old classical intro music. This was a pretty big transition 😂
Thanks! Just wanted to switch it up a bit! There’ll be more saloon music trust me!
Nice Trime. I think I read somewhere they were supposed to fill in a void for the dwindling supply of 1/2 Reales.
Thanks for stopping by! Yeah and then by the end of the 1850s reales were no longer legal tender inn the US.
Good video, friendly advice...don't spray the buttons, dry brush them after they dry, then use aluminum jelly on them.
Thanks for the advice, I need to get me a dry brush for when I'm out in the field
Wish I could hunt a place like that!
Thanks for stopping by! These spots are hard to find but they are out there!
You are trembling for a 1853 coin? Hilarious 😂😂😂
Big kisses from Europe 😄
Not the usual song mix but I like it tho
What’s a trine?
A Trime is a rare 3 cent silver coin minted by the US in the 1850s. Sorry, I should have included a little more info on that for those that don’t know.
Hey thanks for finding my coins! I tell you what, I’ll split them with you
@ 9:03 .... do you want me to spray it ... (me) nah let me just keep rubbing it dry ....
Hey your check hasn't cleared for having me place that trime in that field. LMAO :) Jking :) COngrats :)
what state are yall in? love the video's!
I’m interested and one of y’all’s t shirts. How can I purchase one

Thou shalt not rub.
That "Tri"? What is it?
Careful, this may fall under copyright. It's a fairly newer song. Would hate to see your stuff get deleted.
Yeah I hope that doesn't happen. It seems like the song is allowed to be used as long as you credit them.
Very nice finds and that trime is sweet but I had to cut in here at 10:19 to say your overuse of water on non-silver targets is cringeworthy.
Where is your water and toothbrush immediately? Much less abrasive than even the most loving thumb.
So tell people what u found duh
Get out the damn lawnmower!
Good grief. why do you shake when you find something good? I've found many rare things and have never shaken once. That's why I metal detect....to find things.
And a great gift to those of us who value your enthusiasm and wonderful finds.
