Out of pure boredom and shear curiosity, my girlfriend and I watched Machine Gun Kelly's "Life in Pink" one evening. Admittedly, neither of us went into the film expecting much, as we were not initially fans of his. However, the documentary ultimately provided us with a different perspective of MGK, and changed everything that we thought we "knew" about him as a person and artist. It was an emotionally enthralling and powerful film. One scene in particular that stands out highlights the various shows in which concertgoers threw objects at Machine Gun Kelly with intent to harm him as he was simply performing. Now, I am merely paraphrasing here, so do forgive me if I butcher the quote. But, MGK said something to the extent of, "What those people don't see is that I am there as a father with his daughter who is witnessing this." Hate is weird. Sometimes we partake in spreading it without even realizing it, as I have inadvertently done numerous times when just simply "Liking" posts and/or memes in which depict Machine Gun Kelly in a negative light. But I've come to realize that the hate wagon that undoubtedly follows this man and his career is completely and totally unwarranted. He's a musician. You don't have to like him or his music, but you have to respect the fact that he continues to go out there night after night even in the light of such blind prejudice as internet meme culture. I purchased his album "Tickets To My Downfall" on vinyl mere hours after watching "Life in Pink" and I don't regret it one bit.

This is HUGE. When Kells says “Currently, my drug of choice is happiness and commitment to the art, rather than commitment to a vice that I believed made the art,” this is what I see in this documentary. The best part is knowing I was there pretty much from the beginning. I was friends with him on Facebook before he even had 5k friends or became a public figure. I found his music after he released 100 words and running. Lace up tatted on me. Huge fan. Definitely a legend.

@@garvin0313 people have no idea what they're missing from the early days. The mixtapes, especially Lace Up were by far very underrated. If he had the status he does now and released Lace up, it would have been #1 and easily multi platinum.
Best thing is that I went to multiple meet and greets and he is very humble. With so many tabloid stories now people wouldn't know it...

This was a pretty solid documentary. I have a newfound respect for MGK and Cleveland! Just moved to the CLE a year ago and I know many locals are proud of MGK and the ways that he continues to represent and come back to the city on a regular basis. He does a lot for local charity and gives back to support the local economy.

Media may hate him but we fans love him!! He's a freaking talented individual releasing song after song. He's been on fire and deserves all the success.
People need to stop judging him based on what they read in tabloids and actually listen to his music. His music is one of the things that keeps me alive when I don't feel like being on this earth anymore. My family is going through yet another tragic loss right now and I don't feel like getting out of bed. Putting on my headphones and blasting MGK is the only thing that makes me feel less alone and like I can get through this. I'm going to be at his show in Oakland next month and I can't wait. Excited for this documentary too.

I Dont know MGK Personally/in Real Life. But 1 thing i know for sure, Guy is the hardest worker ever. Ive been a fan of his for like 12+ Years (I am sure he even made music before i discovered him) Anyway thats not the point. The point is that he has been making music for so long & he has never taken a break off. He is super dedicated & if he starts something then he finishes it. He is super Humble person & Helps everyone & is always super nice to everyone. He always shouts out his friends/Like from the band & doesnt make everything just about himself. Also hes still together with his day 1 Friends (Friends he has known since he was a kid) Thats nice to know considered that he has had a lot of Fake Friends who only came around when he got popular or was in the Spotlight. MGK was in a really dark place years ago, Now hes dating Megan Fox & Sells out Tours & Makes music that he truly loves to make & Now he looks happy.

Single father with 2 kids and nowhere to go is the hardest thing ever have ever had to go through and it’s completely overwhelming. When I was in active addiction I was at my worst and my babies still loved me. And now they need me more than anything right now and I’m in the mindset I’m scared of. I listen to your music and I break down, and then I start to feel a sense of hope! That’s what is making me push. So thank you 🙏 we all love you!

I like how his daughter says, "But you only see one side." I think most people are guilty of that I know I am but once I saw his documentary I realized that it's amazing how far people have come and how music can change people's lives. I need to start listening to him more not much into his rap but like the other music so I'll give it another try takes me a while to start liking some artists but it doesn't mean they aren't good and if I can connect to an artist and their lyrics then I usually end up liking them. Some of my favorite musicians I didn't really like it was only a few of their songs but now I like 99.9 percent of my favorite musician's songs
