UFC 155: dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2 was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on December 29, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A Junior dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez rematch has been expected since May 26, 2012 at UFC 146, where dos Santos defended his Heavyweight championship against Frank Mir and Velasquez defeated Antônio Silva. Velasquez and dos Santos had already fought once on November 12, 2011 at UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos, where dos Santos won via knockout in the first round. Alistair Overeem, former DREAM and Strikeforce champion, is expected to face the winner of this bout. He was originally expected to face dos Santos for the title at UFC 146; however, on April 4, 2012, Overeem was revealed to have failed his pre-fight drug test by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). He was found to have an elevated testosterone to epitestosterone ratio of 14-to-1, over the allowed ratio rate of 6-to-1.
The rematch with Dos Santos was expected to take place on September 22, 2012, at UFC 152. However, the date for the rematch was later set for UFC 155. In the rematch, Velasquez defeated Dos Santos in a dominant performance via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-43, and 50-44) to regain the UFC heavyweight title. Velasquez became the first fighter in UFC history to post triple digits in significant strikes landed and double digits in takedowns landed in a single fight, landing 111 significant strikes and eleven takedowns.
This Cain Velasquez vs. Fedor Emelianenko from 2005 would be the ultimate heavyweight fight.

Both fighters got destroyed after the trilogyies and there carrers wrecked and reduced some fights should not be repeated and this was one of them.
I have to give props to Junior Dos Santos because he was still standing after the kind of fight that alter a career.
Dos Santos would have gotten Cain after he landed that punch, when Cain dropped and Dos was standing up right next to Cain being down, that would've been the perfect chance... but he looked scared as hell.
I don't blame him tho.... Cain was a vicious animal with infinity stamina. I was always scared of him and I wasn't fighting... Something about him seemed invincible to me.
I prob would have had the same plan: catch him with a strong punch or nothing.
All those fence grabs saved him from bad positions early, when Cain was fresh. Still props to him though because this was a beating and he was still up.

if JDS tried some flying knees here and there in his fights vs Cain, he could've gotten a knockout or TKO. But JDS was quite one dimensional for the most part and Cain was able to always get amazing shoots for takedowns.

I got second hand embarrassment from all these endless take down attempts of Cain. Also the punches were unguarded and they couldn't ko Dos Santos. Junior should have kneed him at least three times as take down defense.
