Just bought the endeavor. It's cool seeing the lineage my board comes from. Can't wait to get some off reading in. Hoping I can install bindings somewhat easily
Bro, it says a lot that you are willing to Do an honest and good review on another board that’s not yours. Really cool man! I have your Apex esc enclosure on my mountain board build and love it! Can’t wait to see more vids of your products too.
This space will always be unbiased bro, I am told by some people that it's not possible to have a business and run a UA-cam channel, but here we are. I will never review any of Apex's products on here because of this as well, I will talk about them and show how to install them etc but I'll leave others to review them. I want to stay unbiased
Not ready for prime time remote aside, solid and agile sounds like Propel have a winner for off road riders. Thanks for the ride along, Lee, very entertaining especially at the end:) As you mentioned One Wheel for sale on the site, I have to ask if you have ever had any riding experience with one? I can only guess that the one dislike on this video has to be a fan only of your DIY boards:)
Nice to hear your views on the Propel -I was chatting online with a guy who worked with them on the Propel and I suggested you would be a good you tuber to get a review from.. As for the board it's .....definitely .... interesting - and that's not a bad thing - but I knew 'you would question if it should be considered a electric mountainboard - again. not that that is a bad thing Just wondered if you would would stick your neck out and comment on the Evolve situation. All I can say is - 6 months ago I could check ebay for boards that are for sale and see 2 or 3 2nd hand Evolve boards and a handful of resellers selling new boards. Check now and it's like 50+ 2nd hand GT's. Stokes and GTR's. Looks like Evolve have shot them selves in the foot a little with the Hadean or what ever its called. I cant help but feel anything over 4000 watts needs a wide set of trucks to get stability at the cost of manoeuvrability and once you think that, bang,, your in electric mountainboard territory.
Hey bro, thanks for reccomending me, unfortunately Propel didn't reach out and instead I got this review sample via a UK reseller. Evolve is a tough one, I think they have priced the hadean too high in all honest and in the rush to one up each other both Evolve and Exway have made lots of mistakes. It's been a good lesson in how not to structure my own businesses for sure!
@@LeeWright my thoughts exactly My choice in recommending you was purely along the lines of "Propel are marketing this as a off road board and who is going to be the most subjective but fair in the electric mountainboard you tube scene, i didnt want anyone who would go easy on it but also someone who wouldn't be afraid to say they liked it"
@@leighhoyte6230 thanks man, that means a lot. I always try and stay objective, not always apprieciated if you are the company sending something to review but I can't stand glowing positive reviews that do not talk about the other stuff
@lee write it’s just a Chinese BajaBoard clone, they even say so on their marketing. if you loved this you should try the atrax s2 which is the perfect balance of off-road but still portable
@@LeeWright yeah my first stack was over balancing over the front too. I was new to the board and e-skating in general - the power/torque is amazing but I didn’t realise how much I was braced for the acceleration so as soon as I suddenly let off at 40km I went right over the front….my fault not the boards though.
@@sheridanis yes! I had just come off of an evening track racing on my electric mountainboard with bindings and ki da forgot I didn't have them anymore 😂
this is so fun to watch. I received my x4s board one week ago and can confirm that it is a offroad beast! Superfun ride quality. great engeneering. Now I would like to upgrade the esc's to vesc and get a proper remote. Can you give an advice which vescs and remote I would need for this motors/batteries? thank you so much.
Great videos as always. It would be interesting to open the board up and see exactly what "escs" it's running. Whether there is any scope to change some setting and swap out the receiver.
Just had a look. Can't believe anyone is still using this old stuff. I remember them from back in the diyeboard days. Definitely swap out for something better.
how largew of jumps or drops could you do with this? Im a downhill mtn biker so be interested if i could shred this down like green or blue mountain bike trails
Nice review! Really crappy situation with the remote though.. Feels like a half baked solution. I wonder how hard it would be to switch the escs out to real Vescs and use a proper remote with either CAN or split ppm
It's difficult to get out on it. Firstly you need a good surface and then you need good weather. Both of which are lacking in the UK. I've been considering selling it tbh
@@LeeWright That's a shame, was hoping to see more footage of it. Even with the freshies installed, it's still not great for uk roads? I was tempted to buy one, but the price tag with the freshies, pad and board brand new is a little too high for me

Interesting bit of kit engineering wise . The woodland stuff was rough-ish. How well connected is the rider for really harsh terrain? Also battery wise on nasty terrain ? That’s a lot of weight to drag through mud etc
Hard to quantify battery life really. I like to average it over several rides where possible. I get about 14 miles of range out of this thing on average, nasty terrain is gonna bring that right down. I think to be truely connected you would want bindings but in all honesty it's not as bad as you might think, the suspension does a fabulous job
Hello Lee, I've been watching your videos for a long time! It's nice to know that there are people who are addicted to the same thing as me! May I ask you to advise me which VESC and motors should I buy in the range of $ 300-400? I have a mountainboard on two 6370 motors and the cheapest VESC from China, 10s5p battery. I want to upgrade! Thank you very much in advance!
Nice "write up", but one thing confused me about this video. You stated that if you go to 25% throttle, that the speed would not increase past the preset, say 10mph.. Where as on VESC software, if you went to 25% throttle, that the speed would go to top speed, albeit, slowly? This isnt my experience (or at least that ive noticed?) If i put any of my remotes, be it the vx1 or Wand etc and hold it at a certain position, my speed doesnt continue to increase to top speed? I just stay at a steady speed. Did i not understand what point you were getting across?
@@LeeWright you are so right, went out for a ride last night and tested this...i never knew! I must auto adjust my thumb to maintain a speed...interesting, ive learnt something! cheers
You adjust the springs by turning the top plate... For 'group' ride you need to cut power to the two front motors...you don't need all four... Too bad you can't...
@@LeeWright still takes skill to make it look as good as you make it look. You saw my video, you can tell the difference between or skills 😂 And not every UA-camr puts in that extra effort to make it as top notch as yours is! It doesn’t go unnoticed to these eyes!
Think the Endeavour Pro is the better deal, for 300$ less you get much more range with nearly the same features. Not sure if the 2WD makes such a difference.
It is really cool EV but servicability... it is understandable why one would choose standard trucks over this. I am sure there are some cost saving solutions on that intricate suspension too which makes it vulnerable. Just have a look at reviews for BAJA boards, one of the guys have received his with bent pieces of suspension means it couldnt withstand regular abuse in transit. BAJA replaced components and then on a slow turn guy crashed it gently into the fence and it crapped out again. Mou pieces mou problems, I'd like to see you bend your DKP track like this... I crashed my board into a steel fence when my belt snapped while going down hill. Carbon Fiber board cracked but tracks only got scuffed. If it was PROPEL I'd be probably replacing entire front. If you are looking for some swag and occasional forrest ride it may be ok but for serious AT abuse I'd go for tried and tested from people who like to get diry dirty.
Hi Lee. Great video I’ve got 700km on mine and love it, the 4 motors really pull and push it anywhere !!

It performs awesome on Mountain Bike Trails. Try it out. 😊🛹😊🛹
Really enjoyed this one, X4S sure eats up the off road trails easily 👍
