From the bottom of my heart - thank you for this video. 🙏
I've seen so many comparisions like this but they were all missing something. You covered *everything*.
Most of the world knows Sochi was fixed but there's never enough evidence. 😂
It's so heartwarming to see people remembering this horrible joke of a competition - I'm not the only one still bitter after almost 4 years!
Frankly, I don't think I will never not be. 😜
Yuna was *miles* above adelina with her major mistakes and inflated scores. Just a big, fat robbery.
    Stay salty my friends...

Execution is a thing. She did more difficult program poorly not getting the deductions she should get.
Yuna was -almost- flawless so her GOE's should have closed the gap. Ha! Would have closed the gap if the event wasn't rigged.

well then why didn't she give her gold medal to yuna then? if she felt so sorry and unfair for yuna but she didn't did she!!! has she even said anything about this situation. real athletes don't cheat. it's better to accept defeat than cheat.

I mean if one day Adelina becomes a great figure skater (unlikely) and wins championships without cheating (unlikely) then maybe she will get herself another title but as I’ve said before it’s unlikely

These judge devils take the gold and the crown from the Queen Yuna and give it to the a worthless grass root.
      I'm angry yet today!
Today is it november 2019 and right now is it a male skater from U.S. who totally overscored everywhere.
He is technically great but anyway very overscored any other ways. You know Nathan.
Next time is it him who is Gold medalist in OG!
I only hope that he not need to be remembered like someone who steal a gold from another skater who is better than he is!??
It's not so happy situation to him if all only remember him like we all do with Sotnikova who has stolen gold in her possession!

The ladies and men field is exactly the same still, if not even worse, but now they robbed the pairs too. If this continues the sport will die within years... no one wants to see how federations buy their medals. The skaters can't do anything about it, they don't take the fans serious and money is more powerful than anything.
A part of Yuzuru Hanyu 's thesis was published yesterday...go read it. It's about judging and how should they change it. He really just wanna land that A4 cause the judges will hate him even more after he called them out.

    • @Meilk27
      @Meilk27 3 роки тому +168

@@bszenes1111 yuna Kim skated beautifully and the Russian skater was far less skilled. The Russian skater should have been deducted points for doing "cheat"versions of her toe pick jumps which are done by transferring forward motion to upwards for jumps, but instead she used her outside skating edge and also prerotated, and failed to fully rotate her jumps. Kim executed PERFECTLY, a beautiful routine that was emotional and aesthetic. The Russian girl while a good skater of course was nowhere near the skill of Yuna Kim...there are breakdowns of how scoring works in slow motion and many points should have been deducted that were not, due to using the edge instead of the toe for jumps including the "lutz" where only the toe should be used. In slow motion and because of the wide long curve on the ice you can tell she used the edge. It's not open for debate as there is clear proof. Russia being involved in scandal and corruption as usual....sad. russia took gold, Kim Yuna was robbed. And the sad part is she reacted in a way where it seems like she expected it to happen like she was prepared to be screwed by russia. I hope this helps. I have never watched skating before and this is the rudimentary understanding I have after seeing this video and reading into it s bit further

I was there in 2014. I remember that somehow there was hostility in the air for Yuna. When the scores came out after some delay the Russian spectators went nuts as if rubbing it in the face, not out of pure joy. I got all emotional and cried a bit because the whole affair was so unfair for Yuna. On the way out I went to the ladies' room to wash my face, and there were three young Russian women by the sink next to mine. They saw that I'd been crying and guess what they said: CONGRATULATIONS. With an obvious sneer. It was just... WOW. To this day that pure malice occasionally haunts me.

In my opinion, this makes Yuna even more of a queen. She remained calm, humble and didn't disrespect her opponent, the judges or Russian people in the arena, which were obviously all out to get her. Everyone knows she did her thing perfectly and only some Russians will ever deny it. This reflects her personality and even though I'm sad she was robbed of that medal, I'm proud that she showed the true qualities of a queen. In reality, many will remember Yuna much more because of the way things played out in 2014. Ironically, Russia has made this memory of her immortal. Yuna, in our hearts, you're the undisputed Nr. 1!

They were all trying to bring her down but she persevered and got the Silver. For the first time in the history of Olympics, 2014 Sochi Ladies Figure skating, the Gold was Silver that year. The fake Gold Medalist Adelina never won any major competition before the Sochi Olympics. After Sochi, she basically dropped out from skating bec she kept falling during performances, making "excuses" with injury to avoid competitions, while being on TV dancing shows(like Dance with Stars in Russian version) and dancing despite her "injury". This is just so sad. I know that Yuna said that she wasn't as "desperate" for the gold anymore, but that does not mean that she didn't want it. The Russian and American media twisted her words around and tried to make her seem like someone who was arrogant enough to compete at the Olympics without competing throughout the season. Under any normal circumstances, she would've won with 6 triples. I do think, though, that she should have tried to up her technical difficulty, even if she was miles ahead of her competitors to avoid problems like a mediocre skater beating her with more jumps (which is ridiculous). Whenever I see Adelina's posts or videos, I cannot help but feel like she's just too lucky and a fraud. Even Yulia suffered more and had to go through so many obstacles, whereas Adelina had everything handed to her literally.

Jorge Bonilla If you think about it from their point of view, Yuna Kim was still quite young at that time for a figure skater. She could've still continued on competing and winning medals. Retiring after Vancouver would have been a waste of her talent and many of her fans still desired to see her skate. In the end, she found the motivation to compete again and that was because she wanted to bring her fellow South Korean skaters to the Olympics. That is a very noble thing of her to do. She didn't have to do that, but she did it out of the goodness of her heart. Look at Adelina today, she completely lost the motivation to compete. She uses the same excuse of injuries to not come back to compete against her fellow peers, whereas Yuna skated through injuries in Sochi. I'm pretty sure that any country would've wanted their "national treasure" to keep on competing if she still had a few more years on her, as harsh as that sounds.

The thought that this was politically motivated and collectively accepted left me with a very sinking feeling in my stomach. But to be fair... as a spectator (of the Olympic Games) at the time, it was assumed that all Russian, Eastern Bloc and Chinese athletes were badly doped. And we know today that this was true. However, also for western countries. But a lot has changed since then and you're right to be angry. Nobody trusts a Russian winner anymore. Russians were expecting Yulia to beat Yuna not that girl. As Yulia made mistakes they had to give another girl hell lot of inflation. Cuz they knew Sotnikova was not even a match with S tier skaters like Kim and Caro or even Mao. If you've been watching figure skating for long time, u will know how silly and desperately they made that score. For example I can barely think of programs Yuna got level 4 in step sequence. She didn't even got level4 in Vancouver. I heard it is enormously hard to get level 4 in step sequence. But look at that. Ez step4 lol. They even wanted to give her cheaty 0.6 points cuz they were too afraid of Yuna.

Oh get off, little losers. Before you preach, by the way, at least learn how to spell the simplest words like ''honey''. Oh - and no - I'm not your honey. Of course we could not get a lot medals since they didn't let our best athletes compete without even producing and tangible proof that they had actually cheated. It was like ''Oh, you're Russian too. No, you can't come''. And the people who did compete found it incredibly hard because they were truly disheartened, deprived of their flag and anthem and upset for their friends who were not allowed to go. So - when' you're saying things like ''How many medals did you get now that most of team is gone'' is like saying to someone who lost their leg ''How many miles did you run now that your leg is gone?'' Nasty and unfair. That's what the Olympic committee is like, anyway.
