Also the gloving technique was a bit tricky. The cuff is considered not sterile...but I'm sure the training purposes skewed it a bit. It should be done in one swoop. Circulatory staff should a foot away 6" is kinda close. As should the backtable should have enough air cushion/border around all sides....i guess the clean dirty cup is something they do too. The lip of the cup is not sterile so if you stop pouring the liquid its not sterile so I guess the second cup is for a dirty use. Apples to oranges...

In the cath lab setting we are slightly different from the OR setting where everything should be kept aseptically possible. We no longer use brush when washing our hands but we wash our entire hands & arms using a technique to cover all areas. If you are doing 10 assist in a day, I'm sure your skin will be so dry & probably having breakouts already after so many brushing. Afterall our goal is just to minimize the pathogens that may be in our hands but there is no such thing as sterile hands LOL
What happened to that finger Scott? Also you sound like Merle from the walking dead, were you chained up by the distal interphalangeal joint and had to cut your way out because zombies were approaching?! Please tell me that's how it happened Merle (I know that your name is Scott but we are also pretending that field is sterile and homeboy is over there waving his hands over everything so we can pretend)
Remarkable. Supposed to be 10 strokes each plain. He is contaminated because he touched the Facet. So he has to start all over again. Did he lose a digit because his finger was contaminated.
the gloves are sterile, the hands are clean. why are you saying the hands are sterile? You cannot completely sterilize the hands
everyone needs to clean under the nails. EVERYONE.
Great vid, I would suggest that we encourage gowning/gloving off the backtable. Cheers.
this scrub is wrong

The cuff is considered not sterile during open glove technique, for clean cases( ie D&C or D&E)

Hi Mukesh I'm a cath lab nurse too, do you have ways to avoid fogging of our leaded goggles while on scrub? Thanks for the video.
doc,how can you scrub the right hand unto the elbow and you are going back the fingers and palm of the left hand with the same sponge
