    The Japanese bonsai rule for styling Shimpaku...3/4 deadwood and the left other is foliage...Movement and dramatic ...Life and Death in one micro cosmos..Master Koji been very conservative with this tree knowing that it is not his own one...He will usually go for more shari etc...Thank you for having him around👍

    All the peoples comments below saying it was nicer before CLEARLY know NOTHING about BONSAI!!! The tree looked amazing and I can only imagine how BEAUTIFUL it will look in 5 years, then 10 and ultimately 20 years time. A bonsai tree is not complete until the owner stops trimming it! 🤔🫶🏽😘🍻

      Hey we all have our tastes - but I personally think the tree was set up for success in the long run! The trunk size and shape was great for a small sized bonsai (Shohin size) so cutting it back as strongly as Koji did makes sense to me. Its just a first styling, with many to come.

    in half of vid i thought "itwas better before, but the finish version is really much better than the bush before. And in 1, 2 years after the top will ripe, it would be superb. No doubt yet.

    If this was a yes or no question I would for sure say that before was much more pleasing than after. However, what this tree will look like in a few years could end up being order of magnitudes better than the original bush. Just my two cents.

    Personal opinion, but I liked the shape/design before. I reckon just refining those pads would've looked great

    Two people, One tree? I would only trust myself for such redesign. He must surely have great confidence with his partner.

    I really like Koji, but this tree looked much nicer before and while I know it can be one step forward two steps backward this feels way backwards.

      Oh no, please keep in mind this is a first styling. The tree will bounce back with lots of growth and be ready for a next styling a year later. Koji has a long term vision for this tree - instead of doing a demo to make it look pretty, he set this tree up for future success.

    Мучители деревьев - вот, кто вы, мастера бонсай. Если честно. Когда-то я тоже увлекалась этим делом, но оставила это. .
    Жалко несчастные ИЗУРОДОВАННЫЕ деревья.

    I understand that in 5-10-20-30 years from now, this tree will be quite an art piece.
    But, Nature in miniature, No?

    • @l49165
      @l49165 2 місяці тому +3

      No where in the description does it say anyone is creating nature in miniature. It says Koji Hiramatsu styles a juniper bonsai - roughly translated, bonsai is Japanese for tree in a pot. And that it what Koji is doing, styling a tree in a pot.
      Where can we see your work?
