Hi Marky, it's me again 😊, when I go camping I take my Anker 512wh power station and a 75w solar panel to run my cool box. I can also charge the power station through the 12v socket in the car whilst I'm driving. I would definitely say portable solar panels are more flexible and get my thumbs up 👍.
Love it Roy, that's great feedback! I'd say you're doing well if your panel powers your cool box. The UK weather and general sun strength is so fickle! Thanks again for your comments - really brightens my day when you reply!
@@CampingSecretsUK The solar panel just keeps the power station going but it's about drained by the camping trips over. It's always a pleasure giving you feedback as you must spend a lot of time doing your videos. Thanks for your kind words and I look forward to the next review 👍.
Marky, some good info here, I recently fitted 100w solar panel to my MP, £500 , with inverter and 12v cig adapter to charge other accessories. The leisure battery is always full, spent 4 days off grid , cloudy days with the fridge on and it tops up in the day. It’s a no-brainer , I should have done it years ago. It’s really easy to retro fit and no permanent changes to roof and van😊
Another option might be a portable solar panel that fits behind the windshield so it might be a 140w foldable? then that plugs to the respective converter and any other gadget connected to the battery. Then that same panel you ca use to load your power station at home or any other. Also been thinking about replacing the leisure battery with a LiFePo battery + a booster as they tell me it is almost triple the capacity can charge fully and last more cycles accessing up tp 80% of the power every time. And is lighter. Then it will last more and need less charging.

they make a dash/windshield solar panel which plugs into ubd2 port (keeps 12v when car is off) and trickle charges the battery.
