  • Under Nicholas, there were enormous strides in agriculture and industrial production. There were huge economic leaps forward, and enormous progress in health, education, and social services. The evidence of this is easy to find in census information and diplomatic annuals. The fact that this has been ignored or considered unimportant in face of the end of the reign is not surprising.

A while back, I got so sick of the villification of the Tsars and Tsarist Russia I decided to go back and research the entire dynasty. One thing that peaked my interest was I was watching a TV show here in America called Jepordy starring Alex Trebek. He asked a the question...in the late 1500,s, what Russian Tsar fought a war against Poland, Sweden and the Nobles of his own country. I knew immidiately it had to be Ivan 4{the terrible}. Upon investigation I found that Ivan was a very popular Tsar amongst the common people. There was a huge propaganda campaign against him, espacially in Poland because a large amount of the Polish people wanted to become a part of Russia and be ruled by him. With all the research I've done I have come to the conclusion the reason for this is Ivan was part of the Rurik Dynasty who had ruled Russia for several hundred years and were simply not going to let the Nobles and Boyars have slaves{or serfs}. This is was he is so villified. Once he died, Russia became a mess and I got dizzy trying to keep up with all the Dimitris, false Dimitris and the likes.after they were able to dispatch Ivan's son. What came out of this was called the time of troubles. And Hark, the Nobles and Boyars came up with a solution. They would appoint a Tsar in order to stabalize Russia. He was a meek 16 year old kid who was the son of a Noble who had a liberal education who was completely controlled by the Nobles. In truth, the entire Romanov dynasty was a puppet regime who was completely controlled by the same people who would eventually villify and destroy it when they started to loose complete control of it. While one of the main things people use to villify the Romanovs for is serfdom, but there is no evidence that a Tsar or Empress ever owned or profited from them. Only the Nobles, who eventually overthrew Russia were allowed to own them.

I notice in life he was a very good looking individual, I can see how Alexandra felt the way she did for him. Such a charming man he was .

Photographs of the father, Tsar Nicholas, keeping his beloved, sickly son close to him and watching over him, says all about Nicholas' character that I need to know. George V said the Tsar was "weak as water," but King George was a shallow, mean man who treated his own sons miserably.

Finally. Someone has finally said and written publicly that the Tsar's strength was "beyond human comprehension". I would like to have seen how any of the other public figures: Paleologue, George V, Kaiser Wilhelm II or anyone else for that matter could have stood up to the betrayal and abandonment that the Tsar and his family had to endure. Beyond human comprehension. Very well put. Thank you this was beautiful.

Hi Grace! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our Royal Martyrs' channel. We have dedicated this project (social media and our forthcoming book) to proving exactly that: the life of the Tsar and his family were set in a prospective that is beyond human comprehension. Their faith in God and His will was exactly the opposite of what is generally believed. That is to say, not weakness but strength beyond this world...

What an outstanding, heartfelt, and accurate portrayal of the royal family of Romanov Nicholas II. A truly wonderful account of how truly loving and humble Nicholas was in spite of all the glamor and opulence that came with such an obligation to his ultimate responsibility as Tsar of the an enormous nation as Russia. I'm truly grateful that Mr. Nicholson delivered how wrongly Nicholas II is portrayed in many text books in the west in addition to historians who never gave him credit to his many beneficial reforms to improve literacy and further education among his people. In addition, his critics hardly ever mentioning during his reign Russia's industry increased production, people were allowed to speak their opinion and unlike the cowardly murderous Bolsheviks Stalin, he accompanied his troops on the front during WW l. He was an extremely loyal and devoted man who's charitable donations to his people is hardly mentioned, not to mention his immense courage and love of his faith showed in everything he did. The shootings by the national guards which killed the demonstrators was not his doing but the order of his mutinous generals who betrayed him and ill advised him continuously. He cared for his people immensely but again they all betrayed him and with their diabolical plans forced him to abdicate. If he had loyal subjects and ruled with the same authority as his dad Alexander II, including getting rid of Rasputin, their would've have been no Russian revolution. Great piece on The Romanov's Mr. Nicolson, the best account of the truth about them that I've ever seen....

As a Catholic I thank Tsar Nicholas II for his Toleration Edict of 1905 which allowed the Russian Greek Catholic Church to form and granted members of Orthodoxy the ability to be in communion with Rome if they wish. It was only a fitting gesture since he bore the name of Romanov. God bless him and his family.

Growing up in the 80s with the knowledge of Soviet Russia I was taken aback after watching the History channel The Land of the Tsars" which told the story of Russia and the Romanov Dynasty. One of the longest in history (300 yrs). I was captivated by the History of St.Basil church, The Kremlin and Moscow. And amazed at how Christianity, the Church was so important and tied into the rule of Russia..
I've watched as many documentaries as I can, and books too regarding this family and just what they went through.
    Heartbreaking to say the least.-

I think the Romanovs greatest mistake was trusting Rasputin. They were good leaders apart from that. It's also very touching that Tsar Nicholas II hated ruling and simply wanted to enjoy life with his family.

    • @RomanovRoyalMartyrs
      @RomanovRoyalMartyrs  4 роки тому +7

Very well said! We agree with you 100% on their wrong understanding of Rasputin and that apart from that they were very good leaders! But it must be taken into consideration that Rasputin was the "right person at the right time". Both Alexandra and Nicholas, in the perspective of their pain and suffering due to Alexei's failing health, were looking to grasp from anything that could help their boy. And unfortunately, Rasputin appeared to do so - even if it not confirmed if he actually ever did help in an essential way. And this is how they can be somehow excused; and this is why their tragedy is even greater.

Alas I have no idea what, or where. He is also now long-gone as is his son, my grandfather, who might have known something. My Dad and I are left scratching our heads...

There is something very special about the Romanov's and to Tsar Nicholas. Their spirit, and the impressions they left for us in their thousands of family photographs are marred by the great war, the end of Russia as we knew it and their gruesome collective execution. There is some symbolism to them, something sacrificial, they seemed too innocent for the events that transpired around and would eventually consume them.
Definitely going to buy this book after I finish Kotkin's Stalin!

How faith and trust in God and His will is somehow a sign of weakness in anyone let alone Nicholas is beyond me. Getting off topic some but I want to say that I'm not of the Orthodox faith, I am merely a Christian, I was raised non-denominational Protestant. I look into and take inspiration from various Christian faiths and denominations including Eastern Orthodoxy, it's interesting to see the differences and similarities in beliefs and practices and I don't know why people have fought literal wars over God.

Thanks for sharing this here, Elsa! We had a blessed Mother (nun) in Orthodoxy who passed away in 1992 at the age of 94. She was a great missionary who traveled all over the world and worked in India helping the lepers. Sounds a bit like Mother Teresa, I guess, but she was different. Anyway, she used to say "I know five languages that can help me communicate with all the people in the world: The first is the smile; the second is tears. The third is to touch. The fourth is prayer, and the fifth is love. With these five languages I go all around the world." The book about her life is wonderful! A journey of love! When will this book be released? I am very anxious to add it to my collection. This one however hopefully will finally shine in their favor the truth about this remarkable family and also put an end once and for all the deceit and lies we have been fed about them. The one and only Tsar Martyr and his family died for their deep faith in God and family, and most of all his beloved Russia. May they all Rest In Peace with the Saints and finally receive the dignity and respect from us that they never got in this life...God Bless the Tsar...🙏🏾☦️🕊

Dear Angie, thank you for your comment and your kind interest in our work! Our book is expected to be released later on this year. Unfortunately, we currently don't have a date yet, but we believe it should be out by the end of the summer. All best to you and stay tuned for a wonderful new video with Nicholas Nicholson on the unique loving family life shared by the Romanov Royal Martyrs: ua-cam.com/video/KI6Q2wru6eo/v-deo.html

Amen! And may people start looking behind the slanders that were so systematically spread about him from those in the West who benefited from his fall (after bringing it about)!
