nice. the next step would using velocity to trigger the different layers in a combi/multi/performance.so that you only use the dynamics of your playing to trigger the diff. sounds in the performance and not anymore fiddle with sliders or knobs. most multitimbral keyboards now have the capability to layer/split/zone up to 16 voices/patches.
I have a Yamaha PSR 550. Any one familiar with this keyboard? I've looked and looked and it seems i can only layer 2 voices - a piano and maybe a pad or strings. Maybe I'm wrong.. can anyone help?
play worship, piano for years, transitioning to keyboard, attempting it blindly. Appreciate basics. Bought keyboard, played with sounds and did layering without any previous knowledge. But frustrating to "press the function key to select function...then press another to find effect, etc". I thought I'd never be able to do this quickly for worship, then stumbled on your video. You said "a keyboard has to be able to switch functions quickly". Hallelujah moment. I believe have wrong keyboard for the job. It appears you are reaching up and quickly turning on the functions you mention. Is this correct?
Anyone who uses Roland Fantom-S here? Really have no idea relating to the controls on how to layer sounds. Searched across UA-cam but couldn't find one. Anyone familiar?
Thank you for this video, huge help to me...Im really tossing around either buying a new keyboard or a midi & mainstage, it was nice finding a channel that breaks it down for people just getting started!!!
I see a lot of ppl here asking for what piano model is that and dare somebody saying; The gear is not important! - Im like...Dude for real...? That stupid comment dont apply when it comes to keyboards ok. LOL
Thank you for this lesson
Never thought of combining rhodes and 80s e.p. to acoustic piano sound. Will experiment with it!
you are very solid on your presentation, perfect timing on concept and examples
The keyboard sound is so 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much, this has opened a door for me.
Make sure that behind that door there is no empty elevetor shaft.

Yes bro. That's an arranger keyboard from back in the day. You can only layer two voices. It's a pretty old board I have to say but a good one.
Thanks for this, it really helped me out! :)
EliseforyouMusic You're very welcome. Next parts are coming soon.
+worshipartistry was tht melody at 1:54 something you made up or an actual song ?
Just something that I made up on the fly.

Roland RD2000 is incredible!
SIR CAN YOU SPOUNCER ME THAT ROLAND RD 2000
what do you mean?
You want a free piano? Lol

Thank you for this video, huge help to me...Im really tossing around either buying a new keyboard or a midi & mainstage, it was nice finding a channel that breaks it down for people just getting started!!!

yeah it does matter, but if you haven't figured out why, you should just stay in the dark
Nothing special...what?
The sustain part is just insulting. This guy acts like he is teaching someone who has never touched a piano.
Isn't This I Believe played using delay and single chords? Seems odd to play them in this pattern
How to combine the sounds together?
you need to be a liitle be creative
Thanks
