I’m a car junkie for life however, racing on these streets is entirely too UNSAFE. No notable safety barriers whatsoever so the promoters need to do a better job of safeguarding lives. I hope they seriously consider a non-residential or commercial venue.
Good day, Few will dismiss the importance of safety at public events. However, motorsport or any speed based event on air, land or sea is inherently dangerous and has never been safe. Fatalities unfortunately are part of the collateral damage of the thrill. Yes, a lot more can be done to improve safety (e.g. bales of straw as crash barriers, deeper spectator setbacks from the track, restricted access to technical areas) but street racing all over the world has always been an adrenaline pumping event where the risks are part of the lure. It's intriguing that this high risk event is taking place along a prestigious road and it reminds me of the Monaco Grand Prix through the streets of Monte Carlo. This is how cultural events start; a few enthusiasts and a receptive audience. Nigeria has a lot more than the Argungun Festival, Oshogbo Groves and the Kano Durbar, it's great we also exhibit aspects of our contemporary culture. Am I lying?
@DamisolaKo you don’t have to be so defensive in your response. Safety can always be improved upon. Obviously, there were instances where spectators were clearly standing in the path of the race cars. Let’s learn from each other bro!

This is actually AWESOME!! I found out from a fellow residence, a friend in my gated estate who is involved in this event that some dude (or individuals) have invested or are investing in EPE, Lagos to build a proper STANDARD formula 1 racing arena..(or an arena for drag racing) costing BILLIONS..
I wish the government can learn from Singapore how they use utilize public roads for formula one. That crated infrastructure that public can still use for day to day commute even after the event
I remember back then, them they camping for formula 1 to race in Nigeria using the 3rd mainland bridge with nigeria racing team i think the name is Nigeria racing Eagle . All of a sudden everything die down with no traces . The only race track i know in Nigeria is the one in Benin and for 2 year or so after COVID and end Sars nothing till today . The racing series they have back then is no way to be found
No safety precaution. It would make more sense if such events are hosted at the Tafewa Balewa Square. Which is very spacious and spectators can watch from the stand instead of staying close to the track.
Good day, Street Racing and Track Racing are two different aspects of Motorsport. They both have their pros and cons. Whilst track racing such as you propose at Tafewa Balewa Square is definitely safer, street racing in Victoria Island offers more thills, and a more visceral experience. However, I do agree that a lot more can be done to make this street racing event safer.
For those who are saying made in Nigerian cars are not proper can you hear what that dude said? He built his car, different body design and different engine which was why he couldn't call it neither and that means he can give it a different name.
Used to see something like this in Abuja some years ago. Suddenly stopped because the police used to disturb them after a journalist covered their show but it's good to see this again ❤ so now we can get stunt drivers on set for movies
Unfortunately I was so disappointed as I didn't see any race. Please next time when doing a video about race, kindly ensure that 70% of the video captures race as there was no race at all in the video.

Good job guys but SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY first. Concrete barriers blocks should be in place to separate spectators along the drag track especially when the event is in a built up area. Drifting has it's risk but things can easily go sideways with drag. Presenter, great job but you have to know your cars a bit more 😅. I am very happy to see this is being encouraged as a petrol head who owns of those AMG's and involved in street car scene in the diaspora. Much love to the motherland ❤

He will learn . Well done to him though, for creating awareness about the car fest, I didn't even know it takes place until watching this video🫣
If they want to do this in Nigeria, they should get permission from the Government so land will be provided for them where they will invest and build proper racing tracks. The provision of safety in this case is zero, it is extremely dangerous. Organisers please take note!
This presenter needs to learn the car manufacturer names, engine range, horsepower differences between a V6 V8 V10 V12. You only know Gwagon Gwagon, don't know any other silky. 😅
You have good content but you need a team. You over-stressed yourself and hence why you couldn't get much shots of the main races. You can not be the narrator, videographer and drone pilot altogether in such a busy event. That was why your drone was almost crashed. You need someone to solely focus on that aspect for you while you focus on the bigger things. But still, good job.
Bros try to be more professional. It's not called a g wagon. Those g classes are the G63 AMG. Would be proper if you know the cars you are talking about. You can't c an M3/M5 and just call it 3/5 series! You get my point?
